IMessage text reply fails back to email
I have a user who regularly emails from outlook to a [email protected] or att.net for specific people who get it sent as a text to their iPhone. The # that displays as who the text is sent from is always a random Verizion auto-generated #. User can receive the text, but when replying to it they get "iMessage failed to send message". Replying to other messages sent in this fashion with other users works fine, it's only this specific person. On the iPhone, they had iMessage disabled. Re-enabled it, still fails to reply to this specific user's message. Only thing I can think of is it might have something to do with the email they are replying to is set as someone's iMessage email address and that contact saved in the address book needs to have the email address removed from the contact profile. We've been puzzled for days about this, any ideas?
I'm having this problem too; if an iMessage isn't delivered it will be sit there for a good few minutes before apple decides to send as a text message instead.
However I just discovered a handy part solution; if you press and hold the undelivered iMessage an option pops up to send as a text message.

I have the recipient's phone in front of me. It has iMessage disabled. Also, when I reactivate iMessage, under Send/Receive it just has the telephone number, no email address is listed. I have disabled iMessage again as the user does not like using it. Any other suggestions? I'm completely stuck.

Why do my text messages come back as MMS emails from Rogers?
Sporadically I send an iMessage to family when they are not on WiFi
And the reply does not come back as a text, but as a MMS email from Rogers.This suggests that one or both of you don't have iMessage configured correctly in settings or you lack a data connection (cellular or WiFi) at both ends. SMS doesn't use a data connection.
Settings > Messages > iMessage > ON for both phones? Were the messages sent to and from active iMessage email or numbers?
Are either of you able to iMessage other iPhones? -
If I send a text from my iphone to an iphone user the reply comes into my ipad via imessage. I don't get a text reply on my iphone. Any ideas how to fix?
Yes. On your phone make sure it is set to send messages from your phone number, not your apple id or other email address. That way when they reply it will go to your phone.

Hi my work Blackberry can text my personal iphone 4S, but this iphone cannot then text reply back to the BB (using SMS).
Both devices are on Verizon network and have independent phone #s. Voice calls are no problem either way, but text msg from the iphone to BB is the problem. This same iphone have no issues 2-way texting another iphone or a LG Cosmos 2 "flip phone" in the family. I've tried a) turning off the iphone's wifi; b) toggle iMessage on or off; c) resetting the network; and d) turning the iphone on/off but so far no success.This is a BlackBerry 9930 on 7.1.0.1066. I've only recently tried texting between this BB and the iphone, so there were no prior succcesses sending from iphone to the BB.

Everytime i try and send a message to my boyfriend through imessage on my ipad, it says "Message send failure" but all of the messages are coming in through my email, i hate texting my boyfriend through my email. So can someone help me, please.

This is what it is and what it does. You both have to have iOS 5 installed on your supported device. If that's not what your setup is, then that's your answer. -
The text has disappeared from my emails in my inbox. What can I do to get the text back?
Try closing the Mail app via the taskbar and see if the email text shows when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it they try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
I do not have my iphone synced with my work email but when I send a text message via my work email any response I get comes to my phone. Why? How do I change that because I do not want my phone connected with my work email?

Do you mean the From field?
You can change it by tapping it, it will give you options based on the other email accounts set up.
You can set a default account here:
Sttings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > scroll down to the Mail section & you will see Default Account. You can change that to your gmail account. -
I have tried to send a text that I received to my email address by hitting, Edit then placing a check mark next to the text to send, entered my email address and hit the send icon. Three times, the email has come to me as a text and never appears in my email inbox. Help please!
I think you're asking this:
You received a text message. Now you would like to copy the text message's information and receive it as an email.
You would do that by copying the text message to your clipboard (hold down the text bubble and select "Copy"), creating an email message, and pasting that text into the body of the email message and sending it. -
Not receiving group iMessages/texts
First off - i know there have been lots of threads similar to this. I've looked through those and tried the suggestions, but to no avail. I'm still left with the same issue.
I've switched back and forth between my iPhone and Android phones for a couple of years or so and never had any issues with iMessage - until iOS 7.0.3.
Since 7.0.3 i have not been able to receive any iMessages/Texts from friends while in a group chat on my Android device. I can send them and my friends receive them, but i cannot receive from them. I get individual texts/iMessages fine, just not group and only when it's from an iPhone. I am able to receive group messages from Blackberry, Android and Windows devices.
The catch. I gave up on iPhone and officially jumped ship to the Moto X before 7.0.3 was released and i COULD get group texts before 7.0.3.
Here is what has been done. BEFORE switching to the Moto X, i deactivated iMessage on my iPhone AND on both of my iPad's. I made sure to also uncheck the phone number and my email addresses BEFORE deactiviating iMessage. Also did the same with Facetime (not sure if that matters or not).
I have unregistered the iPhone from my Apple profile/support account.
I have deleted all iPhone numbers from my iCloud contacts.
I have tried 4 different Android messaging applications.
I have the correct settings in Android.
I have called Apple and had them remove my phone number from iMessage.
I have made sure that my friends (one is actually my wife so i even did it myself on her phone) have it set to send SMS if iMessage is not available.
I have deleted my contact from my wife's phone, my wife's iPad and my wife's iCloud and then set it up again (as a mobile and not as an iPhone).
I've even called Verizon and Motorola both who believe, as do i, that this is an Apple issue since it only started when my friends installed 7.0.3.
I've ran out of ideas, and ran out of places to go since Apple's support only had the one suggestion which was for them to remove the phone number from iMessage.
I'm open to anything (except going back to iPhone since that would mean i need to splash out on a new phone again). However, i do have an iPhone 4 in my house that i could use if need to TEMPORARILY activate to do something else.I left words out while i was typing in a hurry.
I was saying that the friends of mine who are using the iPhone, have told me that other Android users that they group chat with, are also unable to receive group messages from them.
I think i have been able to narrow the issue down, after spending more time with Apple and with Verizon. Verizon had me text STOP to an Apple Short Code, which resulted in about 40 texts from my wife being delivered via the open group chat that we have with our friends.
To test that this resolved my issue, Verizon initiated a group chat from two test iPhones, which also resulted in success. I was also able to successfully group chat with 6 other groups of friends all with iPhones. I did the same test with a mix of Android and iPhone users too, with success.
Where it failed, was with the original couple. I am still unable to receive group chats from them, while my wife, who is in the same chat, does receive them. I do however, get the texts from my wife in that group chat. Very strange. So i am thinking it is something with their devices and not the fact that i switched from Apple to Android.
The progress today, after a few weeks of frustration is that i can now receive group chats from everybody i would regularly text with (android or iphone users), except this two people, who happen to be the one's i group chat with the most. They are iPhone 4s users on Sprint. -
I'm not sure when it first started occurring, however, I recently noticed that ANY time I have tried lately to post a text reply to ANY video on YouTube, Firefox will open an "about:blank" screen for about 1-2 seconds, and close it. I will not get to make my reply and everything seemingly goes back to normal.
If I open the same video URL in I.E. 11.0, I have no difficulty whatsoever posting text replies to ANY videos, so something is going on with Firefox.
The thought had crossed my mind to uninstall/reinstall Firefox, and I know there's no harm in doing so, but I figured I'd come here first, in case someone who knows Firefox better than I, has an even simpler solution, or in case the uninstall/reinstall idea wouldn't have worked anyway. If you see error descriptioon it gives access denied so basically it is because of some access issue.I guess You must be using some domin account for installation make sure it is added as local administrator also instead of using NT Authority network
service as SQL server service account use local system account .

ASA5510 sla monitor does not fail back
I've been down this path before and never got a resolution to this issue.
ASA5510 Security Plus
Primary ISP conn is Comcast cable
Secondary ISP conn is fract T1
I duplicated the SLA code from http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2030/products_configuration_example09186a00806e880b.shtml
When I pull the conn from primary ISP the default route to the secondary comes up
When I reconnect the primary the default route to the secondary does not go away.
I must either reload the ASA or remove/readd the two default outside routes.
Anyone have this same experience and could lend a hand?
Are there any commands I might have in my config that break SLA?
If so I would have hoped either the Configuration Guide or Command Reference for 8.2 would say so, but I don't see any mentioned.
I'm working remotely with my customer so I can't play with this except on off-hours.
ASA running 8.2(2) so as to use AnyConnect Essentials.

CSCtc16148 SLA monitor fails to fail back when ip verify reverse is applied
Symptom:
Route Tracking may fail to fail back to the primary link/route when restored.
Conditions:
SLA monitor must configured along with ip verify reverse path on the tracked interface.
Workaround:
1. Remove ip verify reverse path off of the tracked interface
or
2. add a static route to the SLA target out the primary tracked interface.

I just erased all data on my itouch, reseted it, and set up a new account on itunes to sync. But when I added my email to facetime and imessage, it said "Unable to verify email because it is already in use.". I don't know how to separate it from the previous itouch account.

especially since i synced a new account onto my itouch

Having been informed your "primary email address... continues to fail registration", I don't know any way you will be able to use it to "register FaceTime."
Try a different email address. If need be, create a separate iD that you will use only to activate FaceTime.
Maybe the answer is: check primary address is verified in my Apple ID at https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/

That shows my primary address is used in verification of another account. But I am sure all my apple id's are not verified until today.
So my next question is: how can my primary address have been verified for another account? How do I found that account.
I do not know the answer to that question, and I don't think the answer would help you.
Even if you knew how it was verified, you would still not be able to use it for FaceTime activation or your caller iD because the database has recorded it as already having been used for a different account.
Unless you get a better suggestion, use a different email address with FaceTime.
