Imessage using 3g from uk to australia

i am from the uk and send messages to a friend in australia via imessage but use 3g quite alot! will it cost me more when using 3g to imessage abroad or just my normal 3g allowance? cheers

sorry, i suppose i mean im not using wifi alot of the time so, i presume im using data, but does the cost of data usage increase if im contacting the other side of the world, ive had a good look around and think im right in thinking that it wont make much of a difference if the message comes up blue ie imessage.....just dont want a £2000 phone bill ....... i dont like them that much lol

  • IMessage using avatar from iCloud account versus iMessage account

Have 2 iPads in the house, my wife's and mine.  Sharing a single iCloud under a single apple ID, but logging into iMessage under separate apple ID so we can message each other.  All of this works....however, "self" avatar displayed in iMessage is the same for both iPads (my wife) apparently pulled from contact matching the the iCloud sign-in email address versus the iMessage account.  When I message my wife from my iPad the to and from avatars are both the same picture of my wife...even though my contact matches the iMessage account on my iPad and has my picture associated.

Having the same problem. Wife and I have a shared iCloud account for Contacts and Calendars. We also have two distinct iCloud accounts for iMessage, and iMessage is signed into each of them on our appropriate devices. Yet when we send messages to each other, the photo avatar is the same for both ends of the conversation. Photos are assigend correctly in Contacts. Not sure why this would happen. Must be some strange bug that hopefully will be fixed.

  • I cannot receive any iMessages using my phonenumber and it wont let me choose it as an option, then i restarted my phone and it says I have no service.

A few days ago I reset my apple Id password. After that, my phone has been acting up. I logged into my apple id on my phone using my new password. (I have an iphone 5c with ios 8). And ever since, I ahve not been able to receive iMessages using my phonenumber. I checked my settings, and it shows my phoneumber as a dimmed option for my iMessage, but won't let me choose it. At this point, I got fed u with not being sble to receive messaages (Since the majority of my contacts use imessage and don't have my email) so I restarted my phone. Now it is saying that I have no service and that my phonenumber is unknown in the phones app. I nee dto be able to use my phone regularly so please help me ASAP.

    Hello ,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that your iPhone is displaying No Service.  Because it is displaying No Service, you are unable to link your phone number.  First, follow the directions below to resolve the issue of No Service appearing.
If you're in your carrier's coverage area
Follow these steps, testing after each.
Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
    Restart your device.
Remove the SIM card. If the SIM card is damaged, worn, or bent, or if it's too big or small for the SIM tray, contact your carrier for a new one. Then reinsert the SIM card.
Check for a carrier-settings update: Connect to a Wi-Fi network, tap Settings > General > About, and install any available carrier-settings updates. If you can't connect to Wi-Fi, connect your device to a computer that has iTunes.
Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
Contact your carrier to check for any network or account issues.
    Restore your iPhone.
If you see No Service in the status bar of your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
    Take care,
    Alex H.

  • Can I use apps from foreign app store on my iPad?

    Hi guys,
I apologise if this has been answered before. I would like to use apps from a foreign iTunes store on my iPad and wondered if anyone could help me with that.
We live in Australia and I want my kids to learn German as well, so I thought it would be really nice to download a few educational apps from the German iTunes store for them. I have an Australian and a German iTunes account and once I changed my apple ID in the store preferences on my iPad I can download German apps without a problem. The trouble is now that from the two apps I downloaded one changed to english and the other one doesnt open at all.
Do you have any suggestions how I could get this to work?
    Thanks
    Alex

As long as you are using the App store > link under Software update under the Apple on the menu bar if it's not already on your Dock..( or LaunchPad )...Yes.
Using iTunes Store for Apps No, they are only for iOS ie, iPads iPhones, iPod Touches etc.

  • If I buy a Sim free iPhone in the UK will I be abel to use it on PAYG in Australia?

If I buy a Sim free iPhone in the UK will I be abel to use it on PAYG in Australia? Or will in need jailbreaking? And what does this even mean?!
Also, I'll still have a UK SIM (vodafone) that I'll want to check from time to time - will this work?
    thanks

The iPhone4 and 4S use a microsim about half the size of the normal sim
You would have to get replacements for your old sims to use a iPhone4/4S
and no unlocked is unlocked will work anywhere with a GSM sim
people use jailbreaking to get round not having an unlocked iPhone
Go to an UK Apple Store
you can reserve the night before online so you don't have a wasted journey
    http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/iphone/
UK Apple stores only sell unlocked iPhones
They will sell you one with a contract but you will have to go through a contract sign up process etc etc so there is no scope for error

  • IMessages dont go from my iPhone 4S to my Ipad 1 both running iOS5 and same log in account

how do i makes my imessages show up from my iphone to my ipad? ive sent a message from my ipad that works, however im supposed to be able to pick up one conversation on my iphone and finish it on my ipad and such. icloud is on on both devices, both devices have the same account logged in, and imessage is on, on both devices, pease help!

My understanding is that for this to work: 1) You need to be using the exact same Apple ID on both devices. This includes the me.com and mac.com variants for iCloud, if you are using an iCloud ID as the Apple ID for iMessage; and 2) You need to set the callerID on the both devices to the same Apple ID, not an alternate ID or the phone number (on the iPhone). To check the latter go to Settings, Messages, Receive At, Caller ID, and make sure same Email address rather than the phone number or a different Email address is checked on each device.

Why I can't login to my iMessage using my apple password. It was showing password or username wrong error message. I try this many time but my username and password correct

I have the same trouble , I can't activate iMessage using my apple id.
I think this is from OS itself (6.0.1) .

  • Imessage uses too much storage

    Hello,
I've got a big problem. I updated my ipod Touch 5g 64 GB to ios7 on thursday. When I was looking in the settings to see the new options and functions, I got to the overview of all apps and how much storage they take. Normally, my 2 GB games were there at the top, but this time, I was really shocked: iMessage used 13,1 GB of my storage although I've cleared my complete history. I noticed that my ipod uses a bit too much storage, but ios 6 didn't show the usage of imessage. I searched for an option to delete these files, but I didn't find an option for that (signing out of imessage and apple id, checking imessage). Now my question is: How can I delete those files, because it takes too much storage and I can't even use them.

You have corrupted files on the iPod I suspect that if yo connect the the iPod to yur computer the "other" amount of storage would be large.
What is the Other on my iPhone and How to Remove It
    First try restoring from backup.
Last, restoreing to factory setting/new iPod may be required if the corruption is in the backup

  • Send from Italy to Australia

    Good evening,
    I'm sorry for my english
I would like to send an album with iphoto from Italy to Australia
    Is it Possible?
    How do?
    Grazie
    Corrado

DO you mean you want to have Apple print a photo book and have it shipped to Australia?
That will be difficult. when you order a book the billing address and shipping address must be in the same country. You would need to order the book from the Australian store, using an Australian AppleID, credit card,  and billing address.  If you have an address in Australia set the "Print Products Store" in iPhoto's Advanced preferences to Australia  and try.
It would be easier to have the book shipped to Italy and forward it yourself. This way you can check the quality, before you send it onward.

  • Blocking iMessage and FaceTime from macbook pro

    i just installed yosemite.
    1) is there a way to COMPLETELY BLOCK iMessages from my iPhone from ever showing up on my macbook pro?
i noticed that when i go into iMessage preferences on my macbook pro that in settings i was able to turn off my cell phone number (?and email account) so that messages would never pop up on my iMac. but i also noticed that under accounts, "blocked" it LISTS the names and phone numbers of people i have blocked! is there some way to make sure this NEVER shows up on my macbook pro?
when i "deleted" some of the blocked names in accounts of iMessage on my macbook pro, and then looked on my phone, i noticed they were no longer blocked. so i blocked a particular individual again via my phone, and it showed up in my iMessage as blocked on my macbook pro.
is there a way to just remove or completely hide iMessage on my macbook pro? can i also remove it from the ?toolbar at the bottom of the computer?
    2) same thing with FaceTime. i never use it on my iPhone (have it turned off on my iPhone), and have it turned off on my macbook via preferences. but is there also a way to remove it or hide it on my macbook pro, so that it never shows up? also remove it from ?toolbar at bottom of macbook?
(interestingly, as i typed this, i noticed the iMessage icon disappeared from my ?toolbar at the bottom of the macbook pro. was that because i hit the "hide iMessage" under preferences on my macbook?)
    thank you for your help,
    a-

Sign out of Messages by going to System Preferences/Internet Accounts and deselect the enable this account box. To get it out of the Dock, control - click and hold, then Options/Remove from Dock. Dock procedure is the same for FaceTime.
For FaceTime, open the application then FaceTime/Preferences, and deselect enable this account.

  • How do you send iMessage to iPad from iphone, I cannot type "@" in message

I have my ipad updated and set it to use my email for the imessage in my iPad
then, I realized that I cannot type "@" in the imessage in iPhone (therefore, cannot type mail address)
how to do send an imessage from iPhone to iPad?
    thanks for the help

I am having the same problem. The email addresses for my contacts do not appear on the iPhone, they do appear on the iPad. So if I want to imessage my wife from my iPhone I only get the option to send to her email address, if I do it from my iPad I get her email.
The only way that I have found so far is to go into my Contacts and at the very bottom select Send Message, then I can select her email.
For some reason the @ is missing since when I select the 123 button it gives me the dial keyboard instead of the special characters keyboard.

  • How do you send a imessage to ipad from iphone

How do you send a imessage to ipad from iphone

The iPad must have iMessage registered and enabled, and you need to address the iMessage to an email address that is set up and selected to be used with iMessage on the iPad. If the iPad owner also has an iPhone, an iMessage can be addressed to the iPhone's cell phone number if the iPad owner has their iPhone number selected to be reached at with iMessage on the iPad.

  • How do I send a text using messages from my macbook to an iPhone phone?

How do I send a text using messages from my macbook to an iPhone ?

I tried to send it to their phone number, but it said they were offline.  And they downloaded iMessage for the iPhone but it still wasn't sending from my computer.  Is there some kind of trick?

  • 8.1.1 upgrade don't send iMessage using my phone, only my email!

Since I updated to 8.1.1 my iMessage has not worked properly. It only sends iMessage using my email instead of my phone number! Can somebody help me fix this? I already reset my phone completely and still not working.

SSame here. Just spent 1 hour and 20 minutes on phone with Apple support and they can't fix it so far.  I can send iMessages sometimes,  but I cannot receive them. I can send messages sent as regular text messages.  Also can receive texts.  What's app works fine.   Only iMessage is not working.  Did everything the support person could think of short of a full reset and back up from my pic (phone ran out of battery).  Any ideas?
they did say the diagnostic wasn't quite right and that a New York times app was not running correctly.  Deleted that app.  Didn't help either.

  • I moved from Canada to Australia and don't want to blow my iMac up

So I moved from Canada to Australia and dont want to blow the thing up when I turn it on. I'm wondering if I need to get a whole new power cord (different voltages etc) or i can just use an adapter? I'm not really keen on using an adapter though..
    It's a 2011 iMac 27"
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!
    Katie

2011 iMacs are suitable for power of 100V to 140V, 50hz to 60hz power. So you won't fry the system. You can either use a wall adapter for your plug or buy a new Australia-specific power cord from a local Apple dealer (find one at http://www.apple.com/au/retail) or an Apple Authorized Service Provider at http://www.apple.com/au/service/.  Or try Apple Australia Online at 133 622
