IMessage... Why was it working in Australia not in Malaysia.. It sends via wifi..

iMessage uses wifi to send messages.. So why does it not work??
I have gone to setting - messages - turn on iMessage yet it does not activate.
I have google responses yet what they say doesn't show up on screen..
I just did the update for the phone. Can someone help?

Very possible. Might be a server provisioning issue. I worked for a phone company sometimes things get stuch from user interface in customer care to the main switch.

I have a similar,but slightly different problem. My iphone 4 recgonizes my home wifi and shows it under Settings, but will not access it, no signal shown, just 3G. It will access other wifi signals. My wife's iphone works fine, as does an ipad and macbook. This is new for my iphone, about 2-3 days.

Not able to use GoogleTalk via WiFi

I am using BB-9320 since last 2 weeks.
But I am not able to use GoogleTalk via WiFi.
Since I don't want to connect my phone via service provider, so I have keep "data services" option off.
I am able to use internet and all other apps via WiFi, but just 1 app that is not running is "GoogleTalk"!!
I am not able to log in on GoogleTalk. It displays error that, "Data Service Unavailable".
What should I do?
Is there any other way to use GoogleTalk??

Q10 will not connect with BB Link via WiFi (updated software)

Hello! I have not been able to get my Q10 to connect to BB Link via WiFi since the lastest OS update. Before, it was not an issue. I can connect via USB without problems. I have uninstalled/reinstalled BB Link on my computer and it does not work even though both the PC and the device are connected to the same WiFi network. The checkbox in BB Link to allow WiFi connections is checked. It is not the end because I can at least connect via USB, but wireless was so convenient. Can anyone help? Suggestions? Thanks!

OK, just messing around with this more tonight. I was able to finally just get the iPod touch to connect to my phone via WIFI.
My question or concern still remains about the Bluetooth connection.,,,
Why is it that she can connect to my Personal Hotspot on my iPhone 5 even when I have the Personal Hotspot on my phone set to OFF?
Is this working as designed? Even if I change my phone's Personal Hotspot password, she can still instantly connect even if I have it set to OFF on my phone. You'd think that it would require for me to have it set to ON? Or at minimum, if I changed the Personal Hotspot password on my phone, it would at least prompt her to enter a valid password?

Yes. Reinstall iTunes. If that is the point at which you stopped trying the support suggestions then it makes sense to me, that you move on to the next suggestion and if reinstalling iTunes is the next suggestion, so be it.
However .... I too have issues that arise out of the blue with my iPad being recognized in iTunes and what I always do and it eventually works is to quit iTunes, restart my MacBook, and reboot my iPad.
Rebooting the iPad is the last thing that I do and only if I have no success with quitting iTunes and restarting the Mac. It may take a few tries to work, but if you are that dead set against reinstalling iTunes, then give it a try.

Ipad and iphone do not synch with my imac via wifi; any ideas?

Synchronising my contacts on the iphone and ipad with my imac seems to require me to connect using USB, then open iTunes; neither will synchronise via wifi. I have set both the iPhone and iPad to synch automatically when connected to power and via wifi to the imac, but it doesn't work.

That sounds like a problem with your internet connection
Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
- Next try the manual install method of:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
- Then try on another computer

Why was my GoDaddy SSL Cert "Not from a Recognized Authority"

I've seen many reports here of people experiencing problems installing and renewing SS Certificates in OS X Server.
In my case a simple Certificate renewal turned into a Very Worrying Episode as the new certificate was "Not from a recognised authority" according to OS X Server 3.1.2 on Mavericks. Email clients could not log in etc. etc. without being told the server was insecure.
I tried several times to renew the certificate. Last year's was from GoDaddy and we had no problems. This year was not straightforward and has wasted 8 or so hours of my life.
This is of course only anecdotal, but it seems that OS X Server cannot properly install SSL Certificated generated from SHA-2 but can from SHA-1. SHA-2 is the default at GoDaddy now (SHA-1 can be chosen) as SHA-1 Certificates will no longer be created or accepted as standard in 18 months or so's time.
My solution was to generate an SHA-1 Certificate from my GoDaddy account.
All the necessary Root and Intermediate Certificated seemed to be in place but OS X Server could not correctly link up all the Certificates in the SHA-2 chain.

@heinzfromconcord were you replacing a Cert with the same name by any chance? (i.e. Were you renewing an SHA-1 Cert with an SHA-2 Cert perhaps). I have absolutely no idea whether this matters or not but can only assume that not everyone is suffering this problem as there are so few forum posts about it. I am trying to gather diagnostic information tp pass on to the Apple Engineers who replied "cannot reproduce" to my bug report.

Photosmart C7280 was installed & working - now will not install - URGENT solution needed

All in one was working fine. Is on Network. Dell Workstation is wired and so is all in one. Other computers are laptops - wireless working fine. For an unexplained reason the software on the Dell stopped working - fax, scan, etc. But it would print but gave error messages. So I uninstalled it and downloaded the latest software from theHP website. First time trid to install - error message in the checking process - second part and uninstalled and did a check of the hP site but timed out. rebooted. Tried again after downloading from HP again. THis time it got to the install stage but once again an error. repeat process and this time downloaded a solution. Followed the steps in the solution - msconfig including firewall, rebooting, etc. Unsuccessful again. Now have no printer on Dell and need to have it working as I have assessment taskc due on weekend and can't print them. Need solution to solve this issue.

When you said you try to download it from the website. Did you click INSTALL on the driver or did you download and save it first on your computer? You may want to try and download and save it on the desktop. Once download is complete, manually start the installation by double clicking it on your desktop.
Aside from that, try to install just the drivers?
So when you're installing the driver/software, it will give you a screen where you can check the box for the user license agreement right? and above that is a 4 link that would say: Internet Connection Usage, Select a software (can't remember the rest of the two options) Click on the internet connection usage and choose the following options:
-First question: NO, I'll do it myself
-Second question: NO, thank you
-Press OK to go back to the main screen
This time, click on the SELECT A SOFTWARE TO INSTALL
-Uncheck everything. except the very top of the list which is grayed out; That's the driver of the printer
-There might be other software installed on your pc already that would say "already installed" you can ignore that since it will be grayed out. You need to uncheck those things that you can uncheck.
-Click Ok to go back to main screen.
-Proceed with the installation.

How do I set up Mail for ATT email? It was previously working and does not work now.

I had my ATT email working. It will only let me set it up as an IMAP account via Yahoo, however the ATT web site says that I should be setting it up as a POP3. Either way it's a no go. Has anyone had an ATT IMAP email account that worked and all of a sudden decided not to work?

I see dropdown menus for SMTP SSL and IMAP/POP SSL. I have them both set as "Require"
Do not to this if your server is handling incoming mail from outside your network.
Few remote mail servers will use SSL, so if your server requires SSL then you will not be able to receive mail from outside your domain.
'Use', on the other hand, advertises the fact your server supports SSL, so clients and remote servers can use if if they like, but this still allows other mail in.
What should "Authentication" be - "Login" or "Plain"
Do not use Plain unless you absolutely trust all your clients (i.e. they're all on a LAN or all using SSL). Plain sends an unencrypted password over the wire, which is susceptible to sniffing.

Whatever you set it to.
The client complains about a correct root certificate not being installed).
Are you using a self-signed certificate? if so, you're going to get that unless you do a lot of extra work. Getting a real certificate from a trusted authority should resolve this.
As for the slow connections, the use of SSL shouldn't significantly impact connection or delivery/transfer times, so something else is amiss.

Why was the Sample database poinbase not installed

My book says that while installing j2ee 1.4 there should be a sample database poinbase and i should be able to start it up through the windows stat menu. The problem is that I don't seme to have the point base installed at all. Why is that, and what can you do about it?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

My macbook pro will not connect to the internet via wifi or ethernet connection

Hey guys just a few days ago randomly my 2011 macbook pro stopped connecting to the internet. My girlfriends macbook still connects fine as well as both of our iphones and my tv. Under network in system prefrences wifi is yellow and says self assigned ip, however ethernet says that it is connected with a green light but safari nor any other internet using applications will work. I even tried downloading google chrome from my girlfriends mac book and moved to my computer via flash drive but still no go on the internet. Please help me.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

Non-Blackberry users are not receiving pictures I send via MMS

I have long ago come to the realization that pictures can't be sent from my Blackberry Curve 3G via SMS but whenever I send pictures via MMS to my friends who don't have Blackberries, they never get them. Is there somewhere besides their text message inbox where they should be looking? I get all of their SMS texts w/pics attached fine.

I have the same problem! Before the upgrade, if I wasn't connected to the internet, any messages sent to me from an iphone would convert automatically to a text message. I have payg tarriff, so I turn cell data off, as it costs too much to use it. I have wifi at home and work, but if I'm out and about, I don't receive texts from iphone users until I'm on wifi. I get them ok from non iphone users. There was never any problem until ios7
