IMessage will not send to one person...

Ok so I have the iPod 4th generation. It is up to date but heres the problem. I am unable to send an iMessage to a person. I can type it, however, once I press send, I never get the little "delivered" note.Even restarting or resetting internet connection won't help. This is only happening to one person that I regularly message. Everyone else I can message to. The person who I am trying to message has an iPhone 4 and I'm not too sure what happened because we were just talking to each other yesterday. What is wrong? Is it long distance? Is the other person's iPhone not on or doesn't have iMessage not on? My internet connections works excellently. My iMessage is on and the Wi-Fi on my iPod is fine. Everything is in good standings, but my messages to that one person will not deliver (and give me that deliver note)

I was having the exact same problem with just one contact. Did all the resets, etc. I am copy and pasting below what worked for me, it was SO frustrating. Good luck and I hope it works for you.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, deselect all email addresses.
Go back one screen and turn off iMessages. Now go back a screen, and go to FaceTime, deselect all email addresses and turn off FaceTime.
Wait 5 minutes.
Turn on iMessages, ensuring no email addresses are selected, it should then have your mobile number ticked. Do the same for FaceTime.
We have no idea why this works. It just does.

Do you have problem with other iMessage recipients?
If no, then that contact needs to fix it on their end. That's nothing you can do on your end.

The issue is with your sisters device and iMessage.

Does the other person have iMessage on, too? Is the specific phone number/address you are trying to reach them at show up for them in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive?

iMessage can only send messages to other iOS devices using their email address. Make sure the person you are sending has i message set up.

1. Make sure software is up to date
2. Make sure Messages is enabled; Settings>Messages
3. Make sure Date and Time is correctly set; Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On
4. Make sure Push Notification is enabled
5. Make sure phone number or email address is correct
6. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) until you see the Apple Logo

Of course you can't it is a generic document for use worldwide on every carrier mail service
The link will tell you how to set up with the info you will have received from TalkTalk when they installed your broadband
You just add that info for SMTP settings
in iPhone

My response was simply to tell you that iMessage does work with photos in iOS 6.
There could be a transient problem with the iMessage servers which is causing your problem.

settings - message - imessage - is turned ON? Do you have it activated?
Make sure you have a good wifi or cellular data connection.
Also you can only imessage other apple products who have imessage on.

Imessage will not send message after typing it

Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

I have updated my skype but this has been happen to me alot on my desktop PC one person if they send me txt or call me I can't open there IM window, but when I use Skype on my Sony smartphone it works.

Did You find the right pref file to trash ?
iDVD pref file resides: Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences
and is named: com.apple.iDVD.plist
While iDVD is NOT RUNNING - move this file out to desk-top.
Now restart iDVD.

Texts will not send to one specific person only??

Recently I have not been able to text my daughter. We haven't changed phones or anything. She can text me and we can call each other but when I send her a text from my iPhone 4S the progress bar does not complete and the text doesn't send. She's using an android phone but she is the only person, iPhone or not that this happens to. I've tried all the quick fixes, deleting the contact and thread, restarting both phones, checking if any blocks exist,etc, and nothing has worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do me a favor, turn off imessage on your phone and try to text her again.
If that does not work try to text her phone number, really just type in her phone number.

Okay so last night my messages app showed that I had one unread message, but all of my messages were open. I figured it would just go away, so I left it alone and went to sleep. I woke up this morning, and it was fine. The little red 1 went away. About an hour later, I went to text someone, and when i opened my messages app, all of my texts were deleted, but one name was still there with no messages. The time was 2 minutes before I checked it. I tried to iMessage the person back, but it wouldn't ever "deliver." So I text my father, who has an iPhone, and it went through and he text me back. I called the person who was trying to text me and told them to text me. I recieved their iMessage, but it still wouldn't let me reply. It would let me double click and send as a text message, though. The person said it showed up on their phone as an iMessage. I can deal with having to manually send it as a text, but now when they reply, I dont get a notification for it.
I can not turn off my phone or try to restart it because my lock button is broken and I don't know how else to turn it back on. If you know of any way tp resolve this, please help. Thanks in advance.

My iMessage will not send pictures. It used to do so just fine until I upgraded my iOS version.

When sending an image over iMessage, the status bar hangs up approximately 90% of the way done and eventually times out with a "not delivered" indication. This used to work flawlessly until I upgraded to iOS 6. How can I make it work properly again?
I am on an iPad 2 wifi model.
