Imessage won't activate

My Imessage, and facetime, keeps saying that it is waiting for activation. I have reset the phone, turned it on and off, and it does not appear that anything is working to reactivate it. I'm currently out of the country with my phone number inactive (however it has been working just fine over wifi with no problems for the last three months). It also does not activate when using apple id either. Please help!

HI Friend,
Check your Apple ID credentials. For iMessage and FaceTime, choose for your email account instead of your mobile number.

  • IMessage won't activate on macbook pro after os x reinstall

I did a fresh install of OS X on my macbook pro. iMessage won't activate. iMessage works fine on my ipad, iphone, and mac mini, but I can't sing in with my apple id on the macbook pro now. It worked fine before the OS X reinstallation. WHY?

First, check the status of iMessage on this page:
Apple - Support - System Status
If iMessage is down, wait tor it to come back up.
    Otherwise, back up all data.
Take the steps suggested in this support article:
FaceTime, Game Center, Messages: "There was an error processing registration" when signing in
    Sign out of iMessage:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
Then sign back in with your verified credentials. Note that the password of some Apple ID's will expire periodically.
If you get the same error, try resetting the NVRAM.

  • My iMessage won't activate

My iMessage won't activate and says my 'username or password is incorrect' whenever i try entering my Apple ID however it is all correct. I also changed my password so it's definitely right, can anyone help?

If it is telling you the credentials are not correct, they are not correct.
    Re-enter them correctly.

Here I am to save the day mf1831! Let's get your iMessage working. May I ask are you logged into your iPhone 5s with your Apple ID? If not then simply go to Settings > iTunes & App Store. Also, go to iCloud in Settings to ensure that you are logged in there as well. Once you are logged in go to Messages and verify that iMessage is turned on. Also, please verify the Send & Receive info under Messages to ensure that both your mobile number and Apple ID is checked under "You Can Be Reached By iMessage At". Please let us know the results after you have peformed these steps.

  • IPod touch generation 4 iMessage won't activate.

A day or so ago I tried to go into my iMessage and was greeted by a screen with a "Get Started" button on it as if I hadn't set up iMessage already. I promptly tapped the button and it asked me to enter my apple ID. (it already had my email address entered for some reason) After signing in another screen asking me which email I wanted to use popped up and I selected the only email I had associated with the apple ID account. After hitting 'next' it said 'Verifying' with a loading prompt next to it, after it says this for 5-10 seconds it confusingly goes back to the sign in menu I saw before. Nothing has changed and when I try to log in again it does the same thing.I can't get into iMessage which is exceedingly frustrating. I am on the latest version of iOS that is available for the 4th Generation iPod touch (iOS 6.1.6) and this happened totally out of the blue, I did nothing to the device except regularly using it prior to the problem. I have turned the device on and off with iMessage and Facetime off (it is doing the same with facetime although I rarely use it) and I have even reset the device out of desperation. I have called apple support, searched on the internet for many fixes which I have tried (obviously none of them working) and now I am here. Any comments or input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • TS4268 imessage won't activate???

I turned my imessag off a month ago while playing around - and have never got it to activate since.
I turn it on - sometimes it will pop up with "Use your Apple ID for iMesage" and sometimes it'll go straight to "Waiting for activation".
I have noticed that even when its saying "Waiting for activation" I can go to "Send and receive" and it'll have my ID at the top (logged in) but where it says "You can be reached by imessage at" it will have a tick by my email address, but my phone number is grey (cant select it).
Below that it doesn't have "Display as from" (cant rememer what it says exactly) but where you select what number or email address your imessage is being sent from.
Driving me nuts, have tried everything on the tips/tricks page. HELP!!!!!!!!!

Read through the support document that you linked to the forum from. It says that if you follow all of the steps and it still will not activate after 24 hours, to contact Apple support.

  • Apple ID/iMessage won't activate

I've been trying to activate iMessage for weeks on my new iPhone 5, I even installed iOs 7.0.3 which was supposed to fix iMessage problems and it still will not activate; whether I have full bars and Wi-fi or not. I did not have my number connected to iMessage before I installed iOs 7. I have restarted my phone, my network settings, everything. Every time I try to turn it on it says "waiting for activation" and when I try to sign into Apple ID to connect my number it wait her says there was an error and to try again or to check my network connection.

  • IMessages won't activate on iPad

After updating to ios7 I'm unable to use iMessages, I keep getting the " could not sign in Please check network connection" message
I had no problems with my iPhone 4, it's only a problem in the iPad
    Any ideas??

    Finally fixed
    backup the device with itunes.
Restore the device with itunes and set up as new.
Sign into the facetime and imessage to activate it.
After that is done and activation is good.
    Restore from the backup.
Then make sure to sign into facetime and imessage again and you should be good to go
