IMessage won't switch to SMS when out of the data/wifi range
my boyfriend has his imessage switched off sometimes, and when he is out of his home and has no wifi or data my messages still send as imessages and won't let me manually switch them to SMS so he never gets the messages. It says it delivers as an imessage even when he has imessage turned off so he never gets most of my messages but i can't turn my imessage off as i depend on it to talk to family out of the country. It all worked fine until i upgraded to iOS7 and since then it's been having this issue. Is there anyway to fix this?
He shouldn't keep turning his iMessage off and on. He should leave it on, so that when you attempt to contact him, it will register if he is not in an active data setting. When his iMessage is constantly being turned off and on, it is just confusing the server, as if it was still on or off. His best bet is for him to leave it on. If he turns it off, your phone will not know he is out of an active data connection. This is the same problem people have when they leave iMessage active and get a different brand of phone. It appears the iMessages are being received, when the device doesn't get iMessages. Also, you cannot manually switch between the two for him because of the way the iMessage server works. You have the option right after the iMessage sends to hold down on the message bubble and select send as text, but that would require you to know that he isn't in a data connection. If he keeps his activated, the server will know if he is out of a data connection, and your iMessage should be sent correctly.

I recently got the iphone 5s and I have been wondering why my friends who don't have iPhones cannot receive my messages. I made sure that I switched the "send as SMS" thing on but it still doesn't automatically switch to SMS. I also tried resetting the network services but that didn't help either. And as for manually forcing the message to send as SMS... well that only works when the iMessages are stuck and frankly they all send out perfectly and each message says "delivered" underneath. Yet my friends who don't have iPhones don't receive my messages. The only solution for this issue is to just turn of imessage in general but I have friends who message me through their iPods and I want to be able to contact them as well as those who don't have iPhones... ahh help me out anyone !

IMessage won't switch to "on."
My iMessage won't switch to "on." When I press the button to switch it on, it immediately switches back to "off." I am connected to WiFi but do not currently have the SIM card in because I am in another country. I am using the iPhone like an iPod Touch. I have an iPhone 3GS. How do I fix this problem? I've restarted it, restored it, everything...
I got my iMessage to switch on, by completely resotring it on Itunes. I tried everything but I can;t get iMessage to work. Like its activated but the msgs just wont deliver. I'm currently overseas now, in UAE. The thing is, when I go to iMessage and click on my Apple ID it shows the iMessage Account. And then I went to change location, it shows you a list of countries. I cant find UAE!! So I think the country as a whole blocked it. Like they once blocked BBM for blackberry (They finally allowed it) but I think its the same with iMessage. Absolutely ridiculous.

My IPhone 4 won't switch on but when i put it on the charger it does work i've tried everything but it won't work. Is something wrong with my charger or is it my Phone
An obvious possibilty is a dead battery. They don't last forever. Take it along to an Apple store and get it checked out.

Why won't my pandora work when I'm not on wifi? I have the cellular data on for it but I never works. Also pandora isn't the only app of mine that does that.. What's wrong with it??
You're welcome.
Voicemail is left at your carrier's server. That will continue to work unless you report your iPhone as lost or stolen with your carrier.
You may never find it again and you can't if the iPhone remains offline or out of service which means the iPhone is powered off or doesn't have cellular reception. -
Why does Messages still send my txt via SMS when I have the "send as SMS" option turned off?
Why does Messages still send my txt via SMS when I have the "send as SMS" option turned off?
I haven't missed any point, but you don't get it.
If people take "Send as SMS" being turned off as the iPhone shoiuld not be sending SMS messages without reading this text that is included below the option:
Send as SMS when iMessage is unavailable. Carrier messaging rates may apply.
They are idiots.
But you're saying you have this other piece of information that tells you that this option only applies to two iphones exchanging txt. Where did you obtain such information?
Copied from my previous post.
Under the Send as SMS option, the following is available:
Send as SMS when iMessage is unavailable. Carrier messaging rates may apply.
You should check available text below an option such as this so you know what it does. -
I set iCloud up last week and the next day when out in the field I could not get Outlook to open up. I want to change my settings so I can get mail at home or in the field, not just when i'm at home. I have a PC and fios internet with Verizon at home. I have a Sprint air card in the field or access an available wifi. I want to change my settings to allow for receiving email in the field. What's the point of an air card and icloud for backup fi it doesn't work in the field for some odd reason?

Why doesn't the rotate gesture on my trackpad behave as it used to for switching between tabs when it works the same with all other programs besides Firefox?
I changed the about:config to make the rotate gesture move between tabs, and it worked great for well over a year. Now it behaves erratically as described here:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=877598
It used to be very controllable to move one tab over, now it is erratic and moves quickly and to unexpected tabs regardless of how slow I do the rotate gesture. This is the main reason I use Firefox over Chrome and I would like to continue to do so unless there is no fix to this.Just set the browser.gesture.twist.threshold to something around 15-25.

I have downloaded a Maverick OS X 10.9.4 and installed it on my Mac from a USB, and i can't receive a Verification Code via SMS when setting up the iCloud Keychain. Please help.
Hello, Kutoz.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here is some information that you may find helpful with this issue.
I'm not receiving the verification code via SMS.
Make sure that you have a strong cellular network connection on your phone.
Make sure that your phone number can receive SMS messages. You can do this by asking someone to send you a text message.
Make sure that the correct phone number is associated with your account:
iOS 7.0.3 or later: Tap Settings > iCloud > Account, then tap Keychain. Make sure the phone number under Verification Number is correct. If not, enter another phone number.
OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later: Choose Apple () > System Preferences. Click iCloud, then click Account Details. Make sure the phone number listed under Verification number is correct. If not, enter another phone number.
If you can't access a device that has iCloud Keychain enabled, you can contact Apple Support and verify your identity to get help completing iCloud Keychain setup.

wireless keyboard won't connect to iMac, when i press the on button the green light comes on and then blinks twice, i can't type my name/password to log in, please help
Impossible, there are zero, as in none, zip, nadda viruses for OS X. If you have viruses on it they are for MS Windows and will not affect OS X. I suspect the hard disk has crashed, if you have backup then it's not a big deal to have it changed, just take it into your local Apple Store or AASP for service. If you have not been backing it up you may be in for a painful lesson on why backup is critical.
