Imessages email already in use

iMessages worked, but i went into it a few weeks back and it needed to be reinstalled. Everytime I put in an email adress, it says 'email is already in use'.
I don't exactly want to create another email just for this.
Any suggestions?

    I don't believe Apple lets you delete old accounts. They also will not let you merge them.

    You can check to see if it is associated with one of your IDs by following this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5625, and entering the email address at step 2 to see if it finds an ID owned by you.  If it doesn't, contact the Apple account security team and have them check into it by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Apple ID account security.

    for a firefox sync account that had stopped working (dont know why and got fed up trying to fix) so i deleted the account in the hope of setting up a new one from scratch that will work. however when setting up im told "that email address is already in use" so i cant use it!!!

    yes but its a frankly unacceptable solution.
    just what was the point of deleting the account in the first place to rectify the problem of yours useless sync system deciding my password was wrong for no reason then refusing to allow me any way to reset it.
    its like you actively are trying to make users move to chrome. you seem to spend all your time making firefox look and act ever more like chrome but with none of the speed or polish. for F's sake if i wanted chrome id bloody use it.

    Hi there,
    I have my original SCN profile which is not linked to an S-Number. We then became an SAP partner, and I received an S-Number for this which is linked to the same email address as used in my original SCN profile. When I try to view restricted partner content, I need to log in with my S-User, but then it tries to create a new SCN profile for me and gives an error that the email address is already in use.
    I then went to the original profile and changed my email address to another one. I then tried to create a profile for the S-Number, but it still says that the email address is in use.
    I understand that you cannot merge profiles, but please let me know how I can get a seconds profile working that is linked to my S-Number?

    I want to create an iCloud account for my daughter.
    In the course of trying to create new account, Apple indicates that daughter's email is already in use.
    So, I try to recover information assuming that there was already an iCloud account created on that address, but Apple indicates that no iCloud account exists associated with that email address.
    Help!

    iCloud uses your Apple ID.
    It seems that your daughter used her email address to create an Apple ID.
    Try signing into iCloud with her current Apple ID.

  • Lion FaceTime says email already in use

    Hello,
    When I start my Facetime in Lion it askes for my user name and password, so I put in my apple id and password.  It then takes me to a screen that says "people will call you using your email, please enter your email below"  so I enter the email that is associated with my apple id and the programs says " this email is already in use by another apple account"
    Its the correct email, so is this some kinda bug

    Go to Finder "Go" menu hold the option key and choose Library. Then go to Preferences delete this file:
    com.apple.facetime.plist
    Restart Facetime

    When I try to set up a new apple ID, it asked for a non-apple domain email account.  When I try to use my email address, it says it's already assocaited with another account.  My email address is very unique and I doubt anyone else knows to use it.  When I try to search for it using look up apple ID, it can't find any apple ID associated with that email.  So I'm stuck...why does it say its in use, but when I search for it, it can't find it?

    It sounds like the email address you are trying to set up and use as an Apple ID may be associated with another Apple ID as an additional or recovery email address. You can navigate to appleid.apple.com and sign in with your existing Apple ID to check the additional email addresses and remove them. Please use the attached discussion as a reference.

    This specific [https://account.services.mozilla.com/forgot link] should help you. Just enter your email address and you would receive a message with the information required to reset completely your account so you can start fresh. There's no need to create a new email account. Just make sure that no one is using that account, because any data already stored in the system will be erased.

  • I get email already in use and I do not get confirmation emails even after master reset when trying to sync

    I have tried all of the options in your support pages . I am not getting emails in order to reset my email. I did a master reset and it still tells me that my "new" email is in use. I do not get emails regarding recovery key change because the email stays the same . I can log in to your normal support page and I have just changed that password - that worked . . I assume that this password is not my master one . . When I did a master reset, where do I go or what do I do after that??
    Struggling now for several hours . . .

    This page does not help . . When I try to get a new key, it asks for me to log in - email address ok, but incorrect password. Request new password . . no email back to enable me to re-set.

    yes, sorry - not sure why that happened, but i've mixed up the information you've provided. the instructions should read:
    on your old/already syncing device (Dell PC), open firefox there and go to ''options > sync'' and click on pair a new device...
    then on your new device (Samsung), also go to ''firefox > options > sync > set up firefox sync > i have an account'' which will show you a 3x4 character code that you'll have to enter into your old device in order to complete the process.
