IMessages not received

This weekend I had some phone issues and I did not receive iMessages. iMessage is now working. Is there any way to recover the messages not received? The people who sent them to me did not get an error (so they would assume I received the message).
I have an iPhone5 with Verizon as a service provider.

Unfortunately I don't have iMessages sent to any other device.
I know 3 people who texted me during the weekend, but I'm assuming there would be others too. I thought recovering/reading the iMessages would be easier then having to explain to people (who may have texted me). "hey, in case you did text me this weekend, I didn't get it..." haha.

I have not been able to receive pictures I can send them but not receive, I have been trying different ideas such as, resetting network settings and resetting all settings. Why does my Imessage not receive or send messages

When someone else messages me on Imessage i do not receive the message although on their Ipod it says delivered, and i also cannot send a message.

TS2755 iMessage not receiving as normal text after leaving Wi-Fi

When I start a conversation with someone in a Wi-Fi zone, with iMessage turned on, it send in a blue bubble. When I leave the wifi zone and keep the conversation going its turns green, the problem is that once I leave the wifi zone in a iMessage started convorsation I wont receive texts until I re-enter a wifi zone. How can I change this? Turning off iMessage doesn't seem to help because I will receive some messages but not all. until I get in a WiFi zone.
Note: I don't have a data plan, just unlimited text messaging.

Your note explains it all. Without a data plan you cannot send imessage texts and others on imessage cannot send you imessage texts. They will time out and eventually send as sms. What puzzles me is why you don't have a data plan on your phone? Without it your phone is just a plain old dumb phone.

IMessages Not Received on Multiple iDevices

Couldn't seem to find any info on this in my searches.
I have iCloud set up on both my iPhone 4 and iPad 1 using the same iCloud account. For some reason, I only recieve replies to iMessages on one of the devices. Apple claims I can pick up a conversation from one device to the next, but this doesn't seem to be working for me. Example: I send an iMessage to a friend from my iPad. When he replies, it only ever shows up on my iPad dispite me having set up iMessages to use that address on both devices.
Not sure if this is part of the issue, but I have iMessages set up on my iPhone to recieve at both my iCould email address and my iPhone's phone number (the iPad obviously only uses my email.
Any thoughts?

Hoping someone can help. I've seen several solutions on here but not this scenario.
I have an iPad2 and an iPhone 4s. The messages being received on my iPhone are not showing up on my iPad.
In fact, to make sure there weren't with his information on my devices, I deleted my husband's contact info on the iPad and entered it EXACTLY as it appears in my iPhone.
When I create a message on my iPad for him, it highlights his contact info and displays the message, "(phone number) is not registered with iMessages).
Since when did we have to register numbers with this service? Appreciate any help!!!

IMessage not received across devices any more

I messages have stopped appearing on my iPhone and iPad. They only remain on the original device. Not sure what changed. Don't know how to get back to all devices. I've checked and double checked the settings, and it says send/receive from 2 addresses, but not working.

I finally fixed the problem. First, I had to turn off iMessage in both devices. Then, I deleted all previous imessages. I turned on iMessage on both devices, entered apple ID to populate both number and email for iMessage. When I entered a new person to iMessage, messages appeared on both devices. Hope this helps anyone else with the problem.

IPhone 5c iMessages not received

My wife sent me 4 messages from her iPhone 5 to my iPhone 5c today and I didn't receive any of them. iMessage as always worked for us. What would have caused this?

i commented on a similar page! this is what happens with me!
When im on wifi iMessage kicks in and then once i leave the wifi the normal texting routine kicks in (the green boxes).....
Not saying that it could be your problem but it can help try it out!!!!
when you are connected to wifi tect your husband and see what color it is (Make sure he is connected to wifi as well).. Then both of you turn off wifi and see what color it is!

IMessage not receiving texts with pictures attached

When someone sends me a text I get it no problem on iPhone and iPad. When they send it with a pic, it only comes in on iPhone. I can successfully send a text with a pic from iPad, just cannot receive? Any ideas?

If you have MMS enabled on your iPhone, you need to contact your carrier since MMS are exchanged over your carrier's cellular network only.

I can send and receive to any non iPhone user. I can send a message as a text to an iPhone user but if I'm not connected to cellular data or wifi I do not receive messages from iPhone contacts. From what I understand these message should automatically send to me as texts instead of iMessages but since the update it's not functioning properly. Please help. I've tried turning iMessage off and I still don't receive the messages until after I reconnect to wifi.

I have the same problem! Before the upgrade, if I wasn't connected to the internet, any messages sent to me from an iphone would convert automatically to a text message. I have payg tarriff, so I turn cell data off, as it costs too much to use it. I have wifi at home and work, but if I'm out and about, I don't receive texts from iphone users until I'm on wifi. I get them ok from non iphone users. There was never any problem until ios7

If I understand you correctly, you want to limit to limit your use of the Messages application to non-iCloud sources such as text messaging through your phone carrier, is that right?
You can turn off the use of iMessages in Settings > Messages > iMessage. See this help article -

On an iPhone your iMessages will go to your phone number.
You can select another email to use on iPod or iPad.
Go to settings
Messages
Send and receive
Check your phone number and uncheck the common Apple ID you share so your messages will not go to other devices.

Still not receiving iMessages on my Mac

I am Still not receiving iMessages on my Mac, even after the Moutain Lion 10.8.2 update and iOS6 on my iPhone 4S. Does anyone know how to solve this?
I was under the impression that after the 10.8.2 update and iOS6 and having all of the correct preferences checked new iMessages from someone else would also show up on my Mac and iPad. Can someone please help and advise?

Thanks so much for your reply and attention to this matter! I actually figured out last night that I did not have the right boxes checked within the Preferences of iMessage on my Mac. PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

Iphone 5s not receiving imessages or sms after ios 8.1 update

Since updating to iOS 8.1 this morning I have not received any iMessages or SMS, despite my wife having told me she has sent numerous messages to me today! Anyone else have this problem, and any ideas as to how to resolve it? Thanks.

I had this problem too. Upgraded this morning and didn't receive any messages all day. Got home and looked at my iPad and found that I'd missed several messages.
Turned out that iMessage was switched off. Don't know why that would be the case... but I went into Settings -> Messages, saw that it was now off, switched it on, and all is back to normal.

If you didn't have imessage on and now do, it sometimes takes a while to get synced up.
