  • Imessage not working between two iPhones

    We just got our son an Iphone 5C for christmas!  iMessage works just fine between his phone, his mother and brothers iPhones but not with my iPhone. He can send me an iMessage which I can recieve just fine but any reply I make to him is showing as a "green" (SMS) text. This is only happening with his phone and mine, any other texts I send to my wife or other son go thru as "blues". All phones are properly registered with apple with their own IDs and are all up to date with iOS 7.0.4
    Thoughts? Ideas? suggestions?

  • IMessage not working between my iPhone and friend

    I composed an iMessage to a friend. We've texted before so I know iMessage should be working as all previous texts have been in iMessage "blue". Today, in this latest message, I was waiting for the screen to turn blue as I was composing but it never changed. I have an iPhone with IOS5 and my friend has the same. The text was sent in "green" as a text. It never changed to "blue". I had my friend check her settings and her iMessage menu was "on". So I'm wondering why this situation has changed for us. Cost me $.20 with ATT b/c I dropped my 200 msg plan!

    This is absolutely NOT true.
    iMessage works over a data connection. Either WiFi or cellular data. If there is a problem delivering the message for some reason, if one or both of you are out of contact with both WiFi and the cellular data network (if you're in a dead zone for example) or in the case of another problem on the Internet that prevents the message from being delivered, it will automatically fall back and send it as SMS.
    Cancelling the messaging plan was probably not a wise move. Unless you have SMS blocked entirely on your account, which I believe you can do with AT&T smart limits for $4.95 a month, there is no way to completely prevent iMessage from sending (or receiving) an SMS message.  Your only option now is the $20 monthly messaging plan.

  • Why does the alarm not work when the iphone 4 is turned off

    why does the alarm not work when the iphone 4 for is  turned  off works fine when on most other phones work when off

    The only phone I've ever had that would turn on and sound the alarm is a Blackberry. So, I'd hardly say "most phones" have this function.

    I have found that I turn imessage back on and a few days later it turns itself back off so I have to go in and turn it back on again..........very annoying. I am having a lot of problems with 4GS sms and imessaging, and very slow sending texts since upgrade to IOS6 upgrade.

  • IMessage not working between iPhone 4 and iPhone 5?

    Hi,
    Three friends of mine have recently upgraded to the iPhone 5. I'm still on iPhone 4.
    Since the switch over, iMessage has stopped working  between my phone, the iPhone 4 and their's, the iPhone 5.
    iMessage still works to my other friends on their iPhone 4's....
    Can someone explain/help fix this please? We all live & work in bad reception areas in the countryside so having iMessage work to send messages over wifi is super important!
    Thanks so much,
    Jen

  • IMessage not working with another iPhone

    Here's the scoop; I have an iPhone.
    My boyfriend used to have an iPhone. iMessage wasn't a problem at all.
    A few months ago, my boyfriend switched to android and obviously iMessage was no longer compatible. I had the same issue that everyone gets when their friend or even themselves switch over to an android from iPhone when it comes to iMessaging.. sometimes the messages won't send. I had that issue for a while until I finally figured it out. I messed around with my phone a little bit, I turned off iMessage, I changed in his contact the "iphone" setting to "mobile" for his phone number. I turned off my phone and turned it back on. I did it all. That problem was resolved, after my iPhone was constantly sending his android iMessages. Solved, done, cool- I was content.
    But now, my boyfriend switched back to his iPhone from an android. I figured our iMessaging would be no problem now, because lets be honest, us iPhone users all hate those green text bubbles. But everytime I text him now, I GET THE GREEN TEXT BUBBLES. Our iMessage isn't working. I looked up this question in multitude of ways: wording it differently, looking up different things, trying out some solutions people have come up with.
    I don't want to hear these answers, because I've tried them all. More than once.
    1. Resetting my Network Settings.
    2. Making sure my Apple I.D is checked on the Send & Recieve screen.
    3. In contacts, switching the "moble" to "iPhone" back on his contact.
    4. Restarting my phone.
    5. Turning on and off my iMessage.
    6. Even turning on and off my SMS, just to see if it would work.
    Nothing. All of it, nothing. I'm stumped. We haven't tried from his end to do more things like I did, yet. But he has done the following: #4 and #5.
    Help and an answer would be nice.
    Thanks!

    I'd like to add that my iMessaging is only not working for him. I can send iMessages to everyone else, except him.

  • IMessage not working for an iPhone contact

    I'm having an issue where 3 iMessages went undelivered so i sent it as a regular text.  Now it is stuck on regular SMS text for this one contact.  All other iMessages work to other contacts.  I've tried rebooting, resetting my network on the phone and turning iMessage on and off but nothing works.  The other person has tried doing the same also.  Can anyone help with this?  It is a corporate phone and I have limited regular SMS texts but unlimited iMessages. My phone is an iPhone 4s, not sure what his is.
    TIA,
    Rick

    Hi BonusCup,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like you are sending SMS only to one contact only. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
    If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    If you can't send messages to a certain recipient, delete any conversations you have with them and try sending a new message. When you delete a conversation, you won’t be able to recover it.

  • IMessage not working on "decommissioned" iPhone 4

    I purchased an iPhone 5 yesterday, and my trusty iPhone 4 has been demoted to home use. Without a wireless carrier, I assumed that an iPhone simply becomes an iPod Touch and everything but phone service would work. Using my home Wifi I can browse the web, send emails - but iMessage doesn't work anymore, though it worked perfectly when it had a carrier. I went into the Messages prefs under General, and under iMessage it says "Waiting for activation..."
    How can I get iMessage to work on this phone?

    Let me add... this is a Verizon iPhone 4, not AT&T. There is no SIM card slot, so how do I activate this thing?

  • IMessage not working on the new iPad

    Try to send iMessage to same person. iMessage works on my iPhone 3GS but not the new iPad. Any ideas ?

    Does the person you are sending a message to, own an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad running iOS 5 or higher?  iMessage only communicates with other iOS devices.  And as a follow on question, if you are trying to text to a cell number from your iPad, it won't work.  That would require SMS, which is not part of iPad.  You can MMS, which means text to an email address, but again, only to other iOS devices with iOS 5 or higher.

  • Camera is not working in the iPhone 4

    Hello All,
    I have implemented the camera work in my application and this is working perfectly in the iPhone 3 and 3GS but not working in iPhone 4. Its crashed and says "Thread 0 crashed with ARM Thread State". I am sending the code snippet below.
    -(IBAction)ClickImage:(id)sender
    UIButton *btn=(UIButton *)sender;
    ImageTag=btn.tag;
    UIImagePickerController *picker=[[UIImagePickerController alloc]init];
    if([UIImagePickerController isSourceTypeAvailable:UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera])
    picker.sourceType=UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera;
    else
    UIAlertView *alert=[[UIAlertView alloc]initWithTitle:@"Rubyster Insurance" message:@"Camera is not available" delegate:nil cancelButtonTitle:@"Ok" otherButtonTitles:nil];
    [alert show];
    [alert release];
    picker.delegate=self;
    [self presentModalViewController:picker animated:YES];
    Please let me know what can be the issue and how to resolve it.
    Thanks in advance.

    Your code works as is on my iPhone 4 at iOS 4.3.3.
