IMessages status is stuck in offline

My iMessages status is stuck in offline. When I try to click "available" it doesn't change.

Hi,
The Messages app may well be set to Off line if the Bonjour account is Not active and you only have the iMessages account and Bonjour.
The Status setting only refers to Buddy Lists (As in iChat).
The iMessages is either Enabled (and therefore Logged in and Active) or not.
Other than error messages telling you a iMessage cannot be sent there is no  way of knowing (well you do see "Delivered" and "Read" under sent messages).

  • Cisco Unifed Presence Current Status is stuck in Offline

I have a very unusual issue with Presence. This is for a new deployment for Cisco Unified Communication Manager (Version 7.0.2.10000-18) and Cisco Unified Presence (System version: 7.0.3.10000-63).
Currently, CUCM is not integrated with AD, while Presence has a gateway for AD.
While onsite doing the install, I created a test ID on CUCM and AD. My test ID works great and I can change my status, etc. I can also add my test ID as a contact and can see the status in the contact list as well with no issues.
Now for the problem... When I add an existing user to CUCM and CUP, I can log into CUPC and see and change the users status. I can log in and out of CUPC with no issues. Once that user is added into a conact list, their status will stop working, can not be changed and is stuck in "off line". Oddly enough, the contact list will show available.
    Here is an example:
User "Steve" is added to CUP. Steve can log in and out and change his status. While logged in, Steve adds himself to his own contact list. Steve is able to change and see his status with no issue. Once Steve logs out and back into CUPC, he can no longer change his status.
I have all in and out ACL's set up to allow ALL, but still not luck. Very odd and I have Cisco TAC stumped as well.
    Any suggestions would be helpful!
    Thanks
    Keith

    Keith,
Can you confirm the following, for an existing user, eg. Steve, is the userid, firstname, lastname and telephone number in AD and CUCM the same. If these are not same you could come across some issues. I would recommend you normalize that first.
Now, if all that is fine, need to verify if this issue is happening with existing users only and if so does it happen when they add themselves to their buddy list or happens if they have someone else in their buddy list.
example, if Steve logs in and has Bob in his CUPC buddy list. Can Steve change has status and does Bob see Steve's status?
Also, when Steve has added himself to his buddy list, you say that you cannot change the status of CUPC, but does the CUPC show Steve as available or offline?
If CUPC shows as offline but in the buddy list the user himself shows as available its possibly some issue on CUPC.
Basically, CUPC status is a 2 step process. When the user logs in the client, CUPC sends a msg to server, CUPS to register and then send its status, offline, busy, available, etc. Along with the login process, the client also requests info on status of its buddy list users.
What I am getting at is that status of client and of users in buddy list are sent by CUPS in 2 different SIP messages. Its possible the client is receiving the msg from CUPS for the status of the users in the buddy list but not the msg for the status of the client itself.
Will need to look at traces from the CUPC and presence engine and sip proxy traces from CUPS.
    Thanks,

  • IMessage status problem in 10.8

Just upgraded and everything seemed fine.  However, I just discovered that my iMessage status in the menu bar is 'Offline' and when I try to click 'Available' nothing happens.  In the iMessage app, the 'Messages>My Status' menu items are all dimmed.  I have confirmed that the correct me.com account information is listed in the preferences, and also that messages sent via my computer are synched with my iPhone.  However, nothing is coming in.
One more thing: there used to be a synch button in the menu bar, but is no longer there - is this normal?

    HI,
In Messages Menu > Preferences > Accounts is the iMessages "Account" Enabled ?
The @me.com name is the one you have "registered" for iMessages ?  - It is also possible to use it as a Valid AIM  Screen Name which needs a separate entry as an AIM account in the Messages Preferences.
Everyone should also have a Bonjour account.
You may have other transferred from iChat.
The default is to have these show as one Buddy List
In this state the "Buddy list" can be set to have one Status but you may find that another of the collected Buddy lists is overriding this.
Go to Messages Menu > Preferences > General section.
Untick the item that gathers all the Accounts in to one Buddy list so that they show separately.
Go to the Status of each Buddy List and make sure it is what you want.
Also check the bottom of the Menu is not set to Make All Statuses the Same.
If these don't solve it there are other step we can take.
It is late where I am (see local post time) and it maybe a while before I can follow up.

I just downloaded the new OS X Mountain Lion, and my iMessages status won't change!! How do I fix this?

if you set up only iMessage account, you cannot change the status, because iMessage has no status.
You should set up another service (for example AIM) with status service. Initially I didn't understand this "issue" too, but it is correct.

  • Mail Account is Stuck in Offline Mode-Can't Send or Receive Mail

A friend's iMac (running Leopard) has a persistent Mail problem. His account is stuck in Offline mode (triangle icon with exclamation point). He cannot send or receive email using the Mail app. His account works fine using Safari. Comcast, the service provider, says all settings are correct.
    Suggestions, please!

    Greetings,
It sounds like the Mail preferences file may be corrupt. Try this:
    Quit Mail if it's running.
Go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete the com.apple.mail.plist file.
Restart Mail and setup the account again; Mail will find the existing account folder automatically. Then see if the problem continues.

This might fix some issues with the Airport Extreme or TC if people upgrade installed.

You can try 2 things: 1) let it discharge completly, then plug the AC charger without turn the tablet on and leave it until if finish charging, then power it on and check if battery charge is correct 2) do a factory reset (backup you data before doing it). settings/backup&reset - factory data reset

  • Clq status shows quorum server offline eventhough it is online

  • Why does my iMessage always get stuck in the sending mode?

Whenever I try to send an iMessage it gets stuck in the sending mode and just sits there and in hardly receive my messages because of it, please make this stop. My parents both have iPhones and theirs don't do it.

The sending and receiving of iMessages is dependent on an active data connection. If you are sending, the recipient has to have an active connection as well, and this can result in the behavior that you are describing. Try double tapping on the home button and finding the Messages app in the multi-tasking tray. Touch and hold the icon until it starts to wiggle. Tap on the minus sign to close it. Do a reset on the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, open the Messages app and try messaging again. You can try to message with one of your parents right there with you and see how that works.

  • N80 stuck in Offline mode

Hi, have already searched all over the net and on these boards to find a reason and solution but nothing concrete as of yet.
First off I have had my N80 on Vodafone contract for about 5 weeks without any major problems apart from poor coverage changing from O2 in my area and what appears to be a temperamental WiFi (only connects when it feels like it!), using standard Firmware v.3.0617.0.6 03-05-2006. I haven't attempted any 'upgrades' or anything that might carry a risk in causing any problems, so am quite confused why I've got this problem? Especially as it appears others only seem to have got this problem with the N80 AFTER upgrading their firmware themselves etc...
Anyway I've just got back from hospital as been in overnight (tonsillectomy ) and since changing between offline and online fine a few of times it got stuck last night. So now when I try to change back to online mode I get an error "Unable to change profile" (I've tried leaving it switched off for 4hours, removing SIM card, battery and memory card numerous times but no luck).
Before I take it into a Nokia Service Centre I'd like to try accessing a 'Test Mode' to take it out of 'Offline Mode' temperarily then try loading up 'Online Mode' again, as I've read on a couple other forums this has worked for someone that got this after flashing to new firmware. So what free and least hassle app. can I download that will allow me to do this without messing with the firmware or anything? (Nokia Software Updater doesn't support N80 :-/ ) uninstalling all Nokia PC Suite software and drivers, then installing 2 other progs and other drivers with a few reboots thrown in for good measure plus not sure on the reliability of this program with regards to 'messing' with my phone).
Sorry for the long post by the way, but I'm not happy about this and having to go to all this trouble to find any info about this never mind an easy solution.
    Thanks In Advance,

Have you tried to borrow a mate's SIM card (will probably need to be vodafone if phone is SIM locked), and also check if SIM card connector is OK, the metal cover is a little weak so might have got bent.
To check if SIM is working you could launch contacts, and go to options - SIM Contacts - SIM Directory to see if card is alive or not.
last gasp solution might be to backup to memory card and then do *#7370# and then restore from memory card. (you'll probably need to reinstall and SIS apps before doing the restore)

  • Desktop Stuck at Offline

I uploaded a whole bunch of pics from a flash drive through my desktop app. I didn't realize how many there were until it started counting. It say 44,577 originals uploading and is offline. I do not have any pics stuck. I just have uploading originals and uploading from iPad. I unistalled my iPhone app and it's syncing right now but my iPhone and iPad are out of sync when it comes to the library.

This should be the path if you wanted to get the images out of Iphoto. There is not a way to import photos to Revel from Iphoto. As you know you have to save them to a different location to upload the images. I thought you should be able to upload them from the iphoto directly. You can drag and drop the images from a finder window into either the Mac app or Adoberevel.com. I have done this as its really easy.
    Go to /Users/yourusername/Pictures
Right-click (or control-click) the iPhoto Library
    select "Show Package Contents"
Yes you can upload on your pc. Here is some info about how Revel looks at the image data when uploading.
Revel filters out duplicates based on file byte comparisons (aka. hashing or checksumming). Revel will not filter images that are edited copies of originals.
Revel doesn't look at file names when determining whether images are duplicates, but considers the binary contents of the files. If the file contents are exactly the same, then Revel flags them as duplicates regardless of filename and other properties.
When there are two photos with the same pixel data--but one has some metadata added, or is of a different file format, then images are not considered as being duplicates.
Albums should transfer, though the organizational structure will flatten (Revel doesn't current supported nested albums, aka subfolders)
Make sure that you have enough disk space on your Iphone. There is a 500 mb cache limit on the Iphone/Ipad. So if your storage space falls under that 500 mb limit you will get an error of storage space.Revel does automatic purging when the device falls below 500mb free
When you upload images for the first time in Revel on iOS and MAC we create Thumbnails, Loupe previews (loupe is the view when you tap an image to view it larger) and cache them. We also cache the originals.
When you use Revel on iOS and MAC and open a library for the first time we cache the thumbnails for the image thumbnails you are viewing. We download loupe previews and originals for editing on demand and only cache them as you view them. On MAC we take an additional step and cache the originals for the library. (This original downloading is not done on iOS)
I thought I would share with you this information as you are uploading thousands of images.
We hope you enjoy using Revel. If you have any questions feel free to ask
    Thanks
    Scott

  • Clq status shows quorum server offline even though the clq service is runni

    Hi,
In a 2 Node + 1 QS sun cluster 3.2 cluster, clq status is showing quorum sever offline even though the clq process is running on the quorum server. to make the quorum server online, i have to either remove and add the quorum server from cluster, or incase if there is a failure on any one of the node's both th nodes will reboot and once both joined to the cluster, I can see clq status showing quorum server online!!!
Why is the quorum server going offline automatically?
Any help would be highly appreciated
    Many thanks in advance
    Ushas Symon

    Hi,
I asssume you mean the scqsd process is running on the QS, right?
A QS is shown as offline, it the monitor could not reach it when it last tried. This is usually due to a networking problem.
If you issue a clq status, the monitor checks again and if it can reach the QS will change its status back to online.
If this does not happen, check your logs, what kind of error message showed up.
Does clqs show on the QS show the correct information?
It is obvious, that if a node dies and the QS has been offline prior to the node death, that the other node will die as well due to lack of quorum, i.e. it has less votes than needed. You seem to have a basic networking problem or something is really wrong with your QS.

How about locationservices.log?  It runs through this every 10 minutes, which is both more often and quite different from what I see in my laptop's locationservices.log (granted I'm on the LAN).
