Immediately reach Server not found but refresh goes to site immediately why?

Loading does not time out before immediately being sent to ''Server not found'' . Hit refresh and I immediately go to web site. Why does site not load on first try or at least time out trying to load?

I've noticed this surprisingly often with Firefox 5 (on Windows 7 64-bit like you). Sometime it takes 2 reloads. I can't figure out the pattern. Hopefully it will be fixed in a future update.

Hotmail doesn't open and says 'server not found' but all other websites work fine...

My macbook won't open hotmail. It works on all other websites apart from hotmail. I have tried using safari to open it but it still didn't work. It comes up with the message 'Server not Found'. I have tried another computer in the house and it worked absolutely fine. I have cleared cookies and cache on the macbook which has not changed anything. Please help as this is rather an annoying situation to be in. Thankyou

Are you using a bookmark or do you enter the website via the main entry (i.e. a link on the MSN page)?
In the case of a bookmark, you may need to delete this bookmark and create a new bookmark.
Is this also happening with the Windows Live (Outlook) login page:

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

"Bloodborne Server Not Found" - What's going on?

Ever since I have started playing this game, I have never been able to get to play it online and I am not sure why. I have a decent internet connection, a valid PS+Sub and more importantly, I can play multiplayer of all other games that I have, including ones on PS3 but just not this one and proving to be very annoying. When I choose to play online at start menu, it takes me through 3 stages, at times fails at second stage itself. When I say, 3 stages, I am talking about the prompts at the top right hand corner of the TV screen. Being more descriptive, what happens usually is as follows: Stage 1: Prompt--> "Checking Save Data" Action--> It is usually successful and should be because it is just checking the save files of this game. Takes me to second stage. Stage 2: Prompt--> "Checking Network Status" Action--> If successful, takes me to stage 3, if not, then throws an error prompt stating "Failed to acquire Bloodborne Server Information" and gives me the option to connect again or just play in offline mode. Stage 3 (only if everything in stage 2 goes fine) : Prompt--> "Connecting to Bloodborne Servers" Action--> This one is never successful, always errors out saying "Failed to log in to Bloodborne Servers" and gives me the option to connect again or just play in offline mode. I have advanced enough in the game to summon people for co-op mode (in short, acquired Beckoning Bell, if that doesn't constitute being a spoiler). I also tried searching for From Software's support system (email, website etc,.) and tried a method in another discussion forum where one has to uncheck the option to keep application suspended in power saver mode but both came out to be of no good. My disc is of the same region that my PSN is, confirmed by the label at the back where it says it is only for sale in my region. But put all together, I am totally lost. Can someone please help?

Most likely blocked or unopened firewall ports,manually opening ports for Bloodborne or setting up a DMZ should help.

The firewall ports listed on portforward.com are incomplete as they often are,the full Bloodborne port list is in the first Reddit article.Use the portforward link as a how to open ports,but the easier option is the DMZ setup but not always 100% guaranteed to work.

Get 'server not found' for only one web site, works on other computers

This is a secure site for which I have an account to do business. Get same results in Explorer and on my windows smartphone. Checked and it is not a restricted site in security options.

Video images won't load, error message says "problem loading page/server not found

when i select videos to watch, they have symbol in the top left hand corner but blank everywhere else. if i right click on the symbol i get an error message "problem loading page/server not found" but i'm already logged in to the website. this just started happening today after having watched 100's of videos for years on the same sites. i haven't changed any settings that i know of, but i have tried several different troubleshooting tips but nothing helps. i have windows xp. and i use firefox exclusively. what can i do?

Have upgraded to 6.0.2 on my MacBook and get error message "Server Not Found" everytime i use Firefox; however, if i then click on my Gmail or other sites from bookmark toolbar it connects. means an extra step and that never happened before

Server not found after updating firefox. HEEEEELLLPPP!!!!

Im using windows Vista. 3days ago, I launched firefox setup3.6..exe internet connection and mozilla worked fine.
when i restarted my laptop, I just can't connect to the internet- it says SERVER NOT FOUND but I am sure Im connected (my brother's laptop is)
so I uninstalled my NORTON,
i also UNINSTALLED my MOZILLA and reinstalled it.
stil NOT WORKING
checked my firewall... checked mozilla TOOLs- use no proxy
what am i suppose to do?? i really need my MOZILLA. thanks

Did you empty your browser cache before typing in your url into your web browser?
Did you type in the url directly rather than clicking on the visit site button?
Have you actually published your site?
Are you using iWeb built in ftp? If you are then perhaps try publishing your site to a local folder from iWeb and using an ftp client such as Cyberduck to upload your site to your server.

Firefox (& Safari) open incorrect (undesirable!) website or I get a 'server not found' message.

Firefox (& Safari) redirect both Google searches and web addresses to an undesirable Chinese website (www.5542.com). They have both become very slow and often give a 'Server not found' message when accessing various sites. I believe it could be malware(?) or similar. I've tried to block the unwanted site but it keeps on appearing. I'm running two macs and it's happening on both of them. I'm not especially experienced with web jargon etc. so please speak slowly with any instructions! Thanks for your help. Andy

Thanks for your help Moses but these Malware removal links are for Windows and I'm on Mac OS 10.4.9 on the laptop and 10.5.6 on the main machine.
One of the problems is that I can't do too much Googling for help before I run into the www.5542.com or 'Can't find the server' problems. Any more suggestions or other useful forums I could try?

I can open any initial website but nothing within the website, says server not found

For the last few days, I can get to almost any initial website or bookmark but I cannot click open anything in that website without refreshing 4-10 times. I think it has been since I upgraded to latest version of Firefox.

Firefox 4 on Mac goes through periods of time where it brings "server not found" or "problem loading page" pages. I have to re-start firefox to get it to work again. Works fine on Safari.

Hi, ever since I was prompted to download the new Firefox 4, I have continuously been having this issue. I will type in a domain name and it will automatically prompt me to "server not found". The websites work fine on Safari and Google Chrome, but not firefox. I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox about 4 times and I really need a solution!
Also, I have done all of the IPv4, Cache, and other solutions listed in the article on having certain sites not load. I'd appreciate some help! Thanks!

Windows 7 For the last few days I get "server not found" message when I try to access many sites (including Mozzilla help). This happens with ie also.However when I use a different IP (via my VPN) everything is OK.

Did you check the connection settings?

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.
