Imnot sure if I am in the right please for this..I have OSX 10.9 ..I produce weekly invoice in numbers which I export to Exel . Since recent updates I find that the file extn is now XLSX and when I open it the cumber content has changed! Can anyone help

a. Restore entire macpro hard drive from time machine to a time over a year ago before problems started
b. Restore more recent individual files such as logic projects individually from same time machine backup
c. install any programs manually again only couple of vsts
please answer direct question as i have tried everything else and nonhardware problems just will no longer boot after months of reseting each time

I want to change my account payment method to none and I do not have a credit card yet.Plus, iTunes gave a message saying that I need to review my account and when I go there,the none payment method is hidden.
Assuming that you want help and that you aren't just copying-and-pasting that thread's title and posting a link to it, then have you tried the steps on the post that I linked to in my first reply on that thread ?
If you don't get the 'none' option when trying those instructions then you will need to enter credit card details before you will be able to use the account - when you've entered credit card details you should get the 'none' option and be able to remove your card details.

Hi I followed instructions to copy/move iTunes music to a new PC. I can see albums listed in the library but SYNCH will not put any music on my new iPod.
It took three weeks to import my CDs on the old PC and I don't want to do it again!

Once you have the tracks on some removable medium, you can mount that on your new computer and then just drag the content to the iTunes window. Make sure that the option to "copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" is set in the iTunes -> Advanced -> General preferences before you do. Alternatively, you can use the Add To Library command and select each track (or folder of tracks).
If you won't be using that Windows system once you move the content, don't forget to deauthorize the system from your iTunes Store account before you dispose of the computer.

I upgraded from mountain lion to the OS X Mavericks and my EndNote X5 can not open.I re-installed it but cannot open. I keep on getting the message "Unable to load EndNote X5: Applications/EndNote X5/EndNote X5.app/Contents/Encore.bundle" can anyone help?
Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Test after each one. Back up all data before making any changes.
1. Make sure that the right volume is selected in the Startup Disk preference pane.
2. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to start up. If there's no change, reconnect them
3. Reset the System Management Controller.
4. Reset the PRAM.
5. Start up in safe mode, then restart as usual. If you can't start in safe mode—for instance, if FileVault is active—then triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select

from the contextual menu. A Finder window should open with an item named "folders" selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You'll be prompted for your administrator password. Restart and empty the Trash. -

Well, assuming all of the above, Notifications, etc., it just might be time for a visit to the Apple tore genius center for a session with the techs. See if it is a fault in the hardware or just an iOS reinstall is the answer.
One more thing you could try, backup so you have a record of content, then restore to factory conditions be an Erase All Contents and Settings. Then restore from the backup you just made. That has helped some with WiFi problems, may be it would work with your problems.
But with that behavior of another app with problems, the geniuses looks like a less stressful thing to do. -
i was watching a movie on itunes and i exited, but started to rewatch later. when i tried, the movie was reset to the beginning and wouldnt let me skip to where i was before. can anyone help me?
yes yes and yes. but now the movie has completely disappered from my iTunes and from my iPhone. I had 16 days and 19 hours left to watch my movie when I started it, and after I started it I still had 23 hours to complete it. Now it is completely gone.

This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps. -
As i was installing Final Cut Studio i cancelled it while entering the details, to go to bed. I tried to reopen the installer window and it just comes up with a Terminal Text Window, can anyone help?

Hold the Shift key on keyboard and start up the Mac
The Mac will run the repair tasks it takes 10- 30 minutes, then it will boot up normally

That means it can find the Hard Drive, or can't find the things needed for booting.

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.) -
I inherited a 2003 ipod from my daughter. The controls will not work when it is plugged into a power source. Can anyone help?
But they work normally when not plugged in? What kind of power source are you plugging it into? It maybe outputting more than what the iPod can handle. I had this happen to an iPod I plugged into a powerstrip that was plugged into the cigarette lighter in a vehicle an experienced the same thing.

I recently updated? to Lion from 10.6.8(snow leopard), and things seem to be running slower. Has anyone had similar problems? I have Feb 2011 Macbook pro 13" 2.3 Ghz.
As Shootist pointed out, the system uses more power.
However, initially it will reindex the hard drive for spotlight, which will slow things down temporarily.
It also must rebuild caches that eventually will speed things up.
If it has completed indexing the hard drive (no dot pulsing in the spyglass), then there might be something wrong.
Start by booting into the Recovery HD (a partition created with Lion that has Disk Utility and reinstallation options) by holding down cmd-r when you restart. You can let go when the gray screen appears.
When it boots, select Disk Utility and Repair the drive.
If that doesn't speed things up, try re-installing the OS from the same Recovery HD. It won't delete any of your files, but it has helped some people whose Macs ran slow after installing Lion.
Also, how much memory do you have? Lion needs RAM so maxing your Mac out might also help.
