Imovie '06HD work under i7 processor?  Under Maverick?

Will iMovie '06 HD work under the i7 processor?  Will it work under the Maverick OS?  If not, what is the last processor and OS it will function with?

Due to its popularity, iMovie 06, (and iDVD) are tested for compatibility with new OSs and Mac's.  I have a new Mac Pro and Mavericks. Works perfectly.

  • Jawbone does not work under Maverick MAC OSX 10.9

The problem did not exists  under Tiger or Lion, once the Jawbone Era is connected via USB, one can update Contact list phone numbers, change the language of communication, etc ; in Jawbone Bluetooth land. However Jawbone Era can NO LONGER be accessed under Maverick. So I called MAC customer service, they sent me to Jawbone (Era) customer service  headquartered in Tijuana. Jawbone Customer service said "our technical team at Jawbone is working in to it." and it only took 20 minutes and the 37 days Maverick has been available.  Jawbone has failed . Jawbone has been disappointing.

Hi not done this before so hope it works, and I am updating from OSX 10.9.4

  • Script no longer working under Maverick

I just upgraded to Maverick over the weekend and I can not figure out why this script no longer works.  It has been working for the last 5 years.
The script moves a file my server sends per e-mail to a folder on a partition on my Mac.  Here is the script.
    tell application "Microsoft Outlook"
              set selectedMsg to (current messages)
set selectedMsg to item 1 of result
set msgAttachment to attachments of selectedMsg
set msgAttachment to result's item 1
set attachmentName to name of msgAttachment
set attachmentFile to ((path to desktop) & attachmentName) as text
      save msgAttachment in attachmentFile
    end tell
    delay 3
set submitfolder to "OS E:Users:e:Desktop:" as alias
set collectionfolder to "/Volumes/Data E/Consulting/Telephone Switch Record/2014" as alias
tell application "Finder" to move (every file whose name contains ("week ") & (do shell script "date +%U")) to collectionfolder
    delay 2
tell application "Finder" to move (every file whose name contains ("week ") & (do shell script "date +%U")) to trash
    I now get:
    If I run:
    tell application "Finder"
open ("/Volumes/Data E/Consulting/Telephone Switch Record/2014" as POSIX file)
    end tell
it opens the folder no problem so the path must be ok?  or?
Any ideas why it is broken?

Are you getting the error on this statement
set collectionfolder to "/Volumes/Data E/Consulting/Telephone Switch Record/2014" as alias
or when you do the move? And what is the error number you are getting?
    Also try this
set filePart to "week " & (do shell script "date +%U")
    log filePart
tell application "Finder" to move (every file whose name contains filePart) to collectionfolder
to see what the string looks like.

  • Adobe Flash doesn't seem to work under Mavericks

I just bought a Macbook Air today from the Apple Store, and they installed Mavericks for me. However, when I got home and installed Adobe Flash Player, it didn't seem to work. I watch a lot of tv etc online and this is preventing any videos to play.
Is there a way around it or do I have to get Mountain Lion reinstalled?

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 4.
    1. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
    2. Triple-click the line below to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    3. Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    4. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
    5. Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    6. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

  • Dashboard dictionary no longer works under Mavericks

My dashboard dictionary suddenly stopped working. I type in a word and hit enter and nothing happens…

Yes, I also tried Repair Permissions in the Disk Utility. Still, it doesn't work

  • Does iDVD still work under Mavericks?

Has anybody checked it out yet? It sure appears that there's no update coming, so it would be good to know if compatibility will be broken with the OS upgrade.

In the new iMovie select the project you want to export and use the File ➙ Share ➙ File menu option:
Select the size (4:3 for iDVD) in the next window:
and in the next window select the destination of the movie:
Then add it manually to the iDVD project.

  • How to remove duplicate POP messages in Mail under Mavericks

    Hello
I'm having some significant problems with Apple Mail, and despite having researched widely, I haven't been able to find a solution yet. Here is my tale of woe...
My set up is that I use Mail with 5 separate accounts, downloading all messages using POP. I keep ALL my mail (even the trash) so that I have a permanent record of all conversations, going back more than 10 years - this is about 250,000 emails in around 250 subfolders. I'm running the latest version of Mavericks on a 2010 MBP. I have no intention of moving to IMAP - I need to keep a local archive of all my mail.
A few months ago I was having problems with Mail being very slow to load and search emails. I decided to rebuild the mailboxes, but afterwards discovered that thousands of messages in the inbox of one of my accounts (and some of the sub-folders) had disappeared. Once I realised I tried to go back to a recent Time Machine back up, but, for whatever reason, that part of the back up hadn't worked properly and I was unable to recover the previous status. I left it while I decided what to do, and had time to deal with it...
The last 2 years worth of emails on that account were still archived on gmail, so last week I decided to try redownloading the whole lot (something like 72,000 messages), and then planned to use one of the scripts I was aware of to remove the duplicates to the trash, and then remove any duplicates in the trash forever. That ought to mean I at least had an archive of the last two years of missing messages, even if I had no record of which ones had been flagged or replied to, etc.
The downloading took about 24 hours to complete, and I now have almost 70,000 messages in the inbox of that account. I also rebuilt all the folders again, which doesn't seem to have resulted in any further loss of messages as far as I can tell. However, I hadn't figured on two things:
    1. Mail 'hides' duplicate messages, meaning that all of the messages I've downloaded are showing as unread, and I can't differentiate the ones I already had in my Inbox, and the new downloads. When I click on those apparently unread messages I can see if they have been replied to or forwarded, etc, but there's no obvious way for me to remove the ones I have already dealt with to the trash, without going through them all manually, which is clearly impossible.
    2. The scripts I'd found for removing duplicates don't work. Andreas Amann's Remove Duplicates script doesn't work under Mavericks, and he has abandoned the project. I've also tried the remove-duplicate-messages.scpt made by Jolly Roger (http://jollyroger.kicks-***.org/software/), and while it *sometimes* works on individual subfolders on my Mac (but as far as I can tell removes the duplicate in that folder, rather than the newly downloaded version), mostly it doesn't work at all - it creates a 'Remove Duplicate Messages' folder on my desktop, a log inside it and a folder for removed messages, but nothing appears in the duplicates folder.
So, I'm left in a position where I have 70,000 apparently unread messages in my Inbox, a massively bloated Mail library (which has pretty much doubled in size, because of the 'hidden' messages), a slow and unresponsive Mail program. I've come to the conclusion that there must be some corrupted email somewhere, which probably caused the original email haemorrhage, and may still be causing the inability to remove duplicates. Mail is so slow as to be almost unuseable.
I figure I have a number of options:
    1. I could live with the situation and just archive most of the Mail in my inbox, with the side effect that there will be a bunch of messages I have never replied to that are missed.
    2. I could abandon the last week's efforts and revert to the version of Mail I was using a week ago, and then redownload the recent emails from my various accounts. That would still leave me without those thousands of emails I lost on my local machine.
    3. I could find another way to deal with this. Can I get the remove duplicates script working? Should I revert to the version of Mail from a week ago, download ALL the messages again, but do it in a way that allows me to find the duplicates and remove them? Should I move to another email program altogether (which would presumably be massively disruptive to my work!)
Anyway, apologies for the essay length of this request, and thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer!

    hi Eric
thanks for the tip, but I don't think that solves my problem, which is that Mail apparently hides the duplicates, so they're still there, you just can't differentiate or remove them. I actually *need* the duplicates there so I know I've got everything, but then I need to be able to move the ones I know I've dealt with from my inbox to an archive/trash, and/or remove them completely so Mail isn't totally bloated

  • Intel Fortran compiler broken under Mavericks

After upgrading to OS 9 on a Mac Pro and a MacBook Pro, and installing Xcode 5.0.1 on both, my Intel Fortran compiler (vs 12.0.5) no longer works.  I have updated the command line tools.  When I try compiling a source file it fails with the message:
ifort: error #10001: could not find directory in which g++ resides
There is a compiler option to specify the location of g++ "-gxx-name=" but this doesn't help - same error message.  I'm not sure if I need to set a system variable or if I need to go back to an earlier version of Xcode.  Has anyone managed to get their Intel Fortran compiler working under Mavericks?

I haven't found this topic in the other Categories, so I'll reply here:
I'm having the same problem!!! Leopard has crashed ifort 32 bits! So I can't run my programs on my macbook core duo (32 bits), although it's ok with the ifort 64 bits version. But I really REALLY need the 32 version working on Leopard. Anyone has any clue about how to solve it? I've tried some 9.1 ifort's versions and the new 10.1 version. You can find evaluation versions on the intel's site.
    Please someone help us.
    Thanks,
    Filipe

  • Groups does not work in Mail under Mavericks

Its not just smart groups, by I cannot get any of my Groups to work with Mail under Mavericks.  I am weary of having to type out the address for each person separately.  Is there some better way?

I don't know why typing he name of a regular group does not work for you, but…
Another way is to open the address panel, select a group, then select all in the group, then click the two button.

  • Wireless pci card - not working under OS 9

    Hello everyone,
I very rarely post on OS 9 sub board, but I have one quick question. First off, my mac is a powerful(to me it is!) 2003 MDD dual 1.25(last before G5) and has 2GB memory with 2GB L3 cache per processor.
Now thats out of the way. I would like to know if the Belkin F5D7000 card(wireless-G 802.11g) supports working under OS 9.2.2? If Belkin does not have a driver for it, is there a generic driver I can install which would allow my wireless card to work under OS 9.2.2? Yes, I have the FW400 based system, however I might consider going with the FW800, but I would like to know really what the big differences are between the FW400 and FW800 machines?
I know the FW800 has ONE FW800 port, has a slot to support AIRPORT EXTREME card(though my machine has a PCI Belkin F5D7000 wireless-G airport extreme card). It also has support for bluetooth which I wouldn't really use anyway since I have no device to make use of bluetooth.
So, my question really is, is there a way to get the wireless card to be recognized under OS 9.2.2 even though Belkin does not have a driver for it? I really would like to use OS 9.2.2 sometimes, but its useless to me if I can't get on the i-net, and regular ethernet is NOT AN OPTION since where I live is only wireless internet.
    Ideas? Suggestions?

    Hi,
A ethernet to wifi bridge is connected to your computer via the ethernet port.
    ex: http://www.macsense.com/product/networking/wua800-1.html
So there is no need for driver in the OS since it's using the ethernet port like connected via a wire. It's the box that convert it to a wifi signal. You could even use this for OS X, Windows or Linux etc...
Many manufacturers make this kind of device.
    A+

  • How do you print comments in pages under mavericks?

How do you print comments in pages under mavericks? Earlier if show comments was checked, all the comments were visible and could be easily printed. Now only those comments are visible on which the cursor is pointed but even those do not get printed!

Thanks to all for to the 'older Pages' suggestion. I don't have the last Pages on my mac anymore (although this is probably just me being really, really dumb), but the suggestion inspired me to try another very similar work around - which was also successful. Just in case anyone's in the same situation as me, am sharing it here!
For absurd reasons I won't bother to explain, I've also got a version of Word for Mac. I prefer writing on Pages, though, so all my documents (and their comments...) are Pages files. In the really unlikely event that you've also ended up with both Pages and Word (I know...) just export to a .docx file, open it with Word, and print from there. It retains all comments, track chages, etc. This seems really obvious, but I hadn't thought of it...
This can also be a work around for the lack of 'Compare Documents' and/or 'Merge Documents'.
Of course this would all be much better if it were actually just in Pages...I hope this helps, and thanks!

  • Dreamweaver CS4 not working under MacOS 10.9

on starting DW CS4 it asks for Java Runtime engine 6, but Mavericks has Java v.7 installed. Since Java 6 was part of the OS of previous systems, I cannot install it seperately, besides it would probably cause conflicts with OS 10.9. Do I have to trash my DW, or is there a workaround.
    Thanx

If I follow click the instal button on
I get the progress bar for about 1 sec and then the message about a supposed
    network problem
which is unreal, since my network works perfectly for any other task and I
had even tried disabling the firewall and little snitch. Things are still
    not working

  • Main display blank after sleep under Mavericks

I use a NEC Multisync LCD 2690 as my main display, and a small Hansol H550 as a secondary one; when waking up from sleep, the NEC is blank and everything is crammed up on the Hansol. Under Lion, I could go to the System Preferences, choose Monitors and Detect Monitors to force the displays to correct themselves but this feature is absent under Mavericks; any idea how I could correct this without having to perform a complete restart each time the Mac Pro goes to sleep?

Found the so-called missing feature: in System Preferences, choose Monitors and hold down the Option key to get the Dectect Monitors button. Still, loosing the main display after sleep is a BIG bug...
P.S. I’m working with a French system, the naming of the features might be slightly off.

  • Mac Book Air 13 (october 2013) under Maverick /Flash Player 11 not active after installation

I live in France and installed Flash Player 11 (last update) on my brand new Book Air.  Several times. Installation apparently succeeds, but it seems that nothing is effectively installed (I checked on the Adobe help site which confirms that). Indeed, I have nothing active and cant't hear audios, read graphics.... on web sites. I have messages saying " module manquant" (missing plug).
I have checked Safari which correctly admits java and other plugs (security).
Would my Book air be too weak for Flash Player (I have Intel 1,3 Mgz Core I5 processor). Would an older version of Player then help under Maverick ?
    Thank you !

    More about this:
Also on my Macbook Pro with Maverick 10.9.1. Aperture 3.5.1 hangs if I try to import files.
If I chose a folder containing *.mov, *.mp4, *.wmv or other not supported files, Aperture hangs immedialtely.
I asked apples support today. They recommended to update Maverick to 10.9.1.
So I did. But I had no progress with the Aperture problem.
The second recommendation was to chage the language of the Macbook to english. But also this had no effect to the described problem.
    And now?
    Best regards, Ekkehard Makosch
