IMovie 08 not displaying its buttons

I've been making a movie in iMovie '08.
First, the still images wouldn't appear in playback, but would show as the last displayed still of a video. So I restarted and checked for updates.
When I loaded iMovie again, none of the iMovie buttons were available. (e.g. the trasition button, title button, voice over, crop rotate, etc. And it can't load up any of my previous movie projects. They just load for 30mins (for a 2min project!) and then nothing happens.
The only things i did were this: changed the aspect ratio to 4:3 from 16:9, changed from NTSC to PAL, and I renamed the proj file to import it into iDVD. (I've since then renamed it back again).
But i wouldn't have thought that would corrupt the iMove program the way it has... any ideas?

I'm afraid to say that I did rename the project file in Finder... (I couldn't see any way of doing it in iMovie)
But should changeing the name of a file mean that all the iMovie applicaiton buttons literally disapear?

Have you tried the restart/reset/restore troubleshooting path? That would be the best initial set of steps to take, particularly in a situation like this.

Pge Template Popup not displaying the buttons

I assigned the template popup to a page. But now the button in that page is not displaying.

It's always helpful if you provide the following information up front with any question:
- APEX version
- DB version and edition
- Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener)
- Browser(s) used
- Theme
- Templates
- Region type
I assigned the template popup to a page. But now the button in that page is not displaying.What is the purpose of this page? Is it actually a pop-up? Or just intended to have minimal structure? What button—what is its purpose? Is it in a region or item position? An HTML button or a template button?
The problem is not with the page template. while opening the page I am passing the printer friendly parameter as YES which I have to. And that i causing all the mess.Printer friendly mode typically applies some generic changes to how a page renders, one of which is not to show buttons.
Why do you have to have the page in printer friendly mode? And why do you want a button then to be displayed against normal convention?

Clock will not display, Eject button not working

Odd problems. Users clock will not display, check the box and it will not stay, clock never appears. Now the eject button will not function properly.
Logged in as a different user, same problems. Must be a system thing...
Ran Disk utilities both while in the OS and from the install CD. It did find some problems but says it repaired them all. No change.
Ran TechTool Pro, it said it found some problems and fixed them. No change.
Trashed all preferences and .plists, reboot. Everything reset to defaults no change to clock or eject button.
System is G4 Mirror Door Dual 1.25Ghz, 1GB RAM, on system 10.3.9 all updates applied.
The odd thing is everything else seems to be working properly... None of the Apps complain or display anything wrong...
Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

I see that you list X Serv and Tiger 10.4.2 for your computer profile. I presume that you are talking about a different computer in the text of your post since you specify system 10.3.9.
Problems of that nature can often be rectified by removing the com.apple.systemuiserver.plist from the ~Library/Preferences Folder, or by reapplying the most recent Combo update.

IMovie '08 not displaying my iPhoto videos

For some or other reason iMovie '08 does not display my iPhoto videos. Even when I do a seperate import using the file import feature and browse my iPhoto video library, do I still not end up with a selection of my imported iPhoto videos. What is causing this? I thought at first the movie files' format might not be compatible but using finder I can clearly see that the movies recorded from my Sony DSC-N1 camera are MPEG file formats. Shouldn't these files show up automatically in iMovie if they are in my iPhoto library?
I have created separate albums in iPhoto, making sure that the movies that ere in the events section are also in the corresponding album but still the movies do not show up in iMovie. This is extremely frustrating so I hope someone could help me with this one.

No. The N1, like most Cyber-shot digital cameras by Sony, employs MPEG VX (MPEG-1) storage of video clips. MPEG-1 files are "playback only" QT supported. This means that they are neither "edit" compatible with iMovie '08 nor are they conversion compatible by the QT structure alone. (I.e., QT applications will drop the audio track if used to convert the clips.) In this case use any of the readily available MPEG-based, third-party applications available on line -- iSquint (free), MPEG Streamclip (free), FFmpegX (donation-ware), Visual Hub (pay-ware), etc. to convert these files to an iMovie '08 compatible compression format. Non-proprietary versions of DV, AIC, M-JPEG, Photo-JPEG, MPEG-4, and H.264 compression format have all been found to be "edit" compatible with iMovie '08 as long as the file container does not contain "extraneous" tracks (e.g., a "Tween" track in the MOV file container). DO NOT IMPORT Apple Animation or Apple Video files. They will import and edit in an apparently normal fashion but will only export the audio with a "black" screen display.

How to not display radio buttons in the select many shuttle component

For business / UI ergo reasons I've decided to not display the radio buttons before each item. There's no option to do that.
Is it possible ? How ?

Let say there are three ways:
1. You can use skinning mechanism,
2. You can include css file in .jspx page and then use it.
3. You can write css directly in .jspx page.
For skinning read documentation. For two other ways here is example code that should be inside metaContainer facet of document tag.

IPad 2 - iMovie - will not display any videos or pics from my camera roll.

Probably a privacy issue.
Check your privacy settings.
On the iPad, click SETTINGS
then PRIVACY
then PHOTOS
Look for iMovie and turn it ON

My iMovie project is no longer displayed in iMovie. I can still find it in the finder, however it is not opening...

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
First of all, are running you have any third party apps that change your system appearance?
If so, try removing them from login items (see below).
Then, create a new account, name it "test" and see how your apps work in that User acct? (That will tell if your problem is systemwide or limited to your User acct.) This account is just for test, do nothing further with it.
Open System Preferences >> Accounts >> "+" make it an admin account.
If the problem is present in the test account also, then it is systemwide. In this case try repairing this with the 10.5.2 Combo Update This is a fuller install, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have applied it before.
(Note: If you are running build 9C7010 do not install the Update.)
Remember to Verify Disk before update and repair permissions after update from /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.
If the problem does not appear in the test account try starting in "Safe Mode" (It will take a bit more time to startup because it runs a directory check first).
If that works go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items and remove them. Boot normally and test. If there are still problems, go to ~(yourHome)/Library/Contextual Menu Items and move whatever is there to the desktop. Then do the same with /Library/Contextual Menu Items. Lastly, try moving /Users/Home)/Library/Fonts to your desktop and restarting.
Log out/in or restart, if that sorts it start putting items back one at a time until you find the culprit.

Special characters not displaying in button label

My production environment is: Oracle Forms 6i connecting to an Oracle 8i database. Forms are Windows client/server. In a form there is a layout of buttons like a QWERTY keyboard. And in the property palette information for each data block, the item is of type "Push Button" and the default Label is set to a specific number which correlates to what that number translates into a special character (i.e. Portuguese, or Spanish characters). So example: CHR196 label = "196". So when at runtime. The following command is executing upon seeing this canvas:
Set_Item_Property('CHR196', LABEL, CHR(196));
So in Forms6i the CHR(196) comes out to be a letter in the alphabet from either Spanish or Portuguese and shows up perfectly.
But NOT in 11g. That environment I'm in is:
Oracle Fusion Middleware Forms 11g on RHEL5 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 5) on a 32-bit platform
connecting to
Oracle Database 11g on RHEL5 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 5) on a 64-bit platform
using a
Windows based browser (IE7 - Internet Explorer 7).
Could it be due to the forms being in a JVM (Java Virtual Machine)? All I see is a small "square" and this shows up on ALL the button labels. Could it be the NLS_LANGUAGE format of the database? Because when I run the query : SELECT CHR(196) FROM dual on 8i or 11g, the proper character shows up in TOAD or SQL+.

I once used hexadecimal coded characters like &xnnn; and they were not transformed. When coding them in decimal, everthing worked fine.

My wesite does not display paypal buttons

i am creating a website, when i click on any of the drop down tabs on the home page and select an item, the yellow paypal 'but it now' and 'view cart buttons' do not appear, instead there is text only.

Try these basic steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Your daughter transferring the apps in your iTunes library to her iPhone should not have any affect on this. There is no device limit for the number of iPods and/or iPhones that can be synced with the same iTunes library and iTunes account on the same computer.
Were all apps that are currently in your iTunes library purchased with the same iTunes account - with your iTunes account?

Callmanager End User Dialog Box will not display Function Buttons

When I go to USER MANAGER - END USER all of my function buttons are missing. There is no:
ADD NEW
SELECT ALL
CLEAR ALL
DELETE SELECTED
Also, I cannot edit the existing users even though I am logged in as Administrator. Please see the attached screenshot with the missing buttons. Is this a misconfiguration or could the software be corrupted?

I just have a VoIP lab, therefore I don' t have an LDAP server. I did create a modifed end user group, however I deleted all of the users from that group. Is there any way to restore the creating/editing of users without reinstalling the CUCM image?

Images not displaying on buttons?

Hi there,
I have a GUI which uses some buttons with images, they show up in my computer, but when I try on the PDA, I get empty buttons.
I'm using .gif and jpeg/jpg images, which are included in the jar file. And it does work on the desktop.
Anyone knows if I have to use different image files, or anything else?

fatbrain73: thanks for replying, but actually just about ten minutes ago I solved the problem.
I should have known, it has to do with the file system in the Pocket PC. What I had to do was to send the address of the image in the same way you'd be working with a JEditorPane (like if it was a valid url address).

Apple Mail software - email is not displaying in folder

I kept thinking it was something I was doing wrong (and it may still be!).
I have Apple mail (my own domain, not Google's email system)...and my folders are kept in the cloud (Apple's cloud).
Ever since I went to Mavericks when I try and browse through my folders the emails are listed there but clicking on an email does not display its contents. It is a blank screen. My in-box is always fine. But my folders I sort mail into… a list with blank for the individual email's contents.
I read through the forums and the best I could find was that the email folder needed to be rebuilt. But doing so only worked temporarily. If I quit my email and go back in, same problem. And it's also really, really slow in displaying the list.
Very odd.

Figured it out...
Turned out iCloud does not like odd characters in the front of folders.
I had Tildes in front of special folders and folders with older projects and clients.
Once I removed the Tilde everything got a lot better.
