IMovie 09 doesn't save changes to iMovie 08 project - Help

After having issues with trying to export my project in iMovie 08 I have just installed iMovie 09 but when I make changes (eg, Use the map of the World to display our travel) and close iMovie 09 down, the changes aren't saved.
Also, I tried to copy and paste the project into a new one and it selects the movies, pictures & transitions but not the audio files. Can this be done? When I try to duplicate the project I get an error saying that I don't have the permissions to do it although I am the author and administrator.
Pls Help.

Your camera definitely should work with iMovie. I viewed a YouTube video earlier today that was shot with the Nikon Coolpix L110 and (clearly) edited in iMovie (not sure if it was '09 or '11). It was this one:

Possibly there is a glitch with iMovie. Try deleting the preference file. Close iMovie, then in Finder locate the file named "com.apple.iMovie8.plist" in your User (Home) folder Library/Preferences. Drag the file to the Desktop. When opened, iMovie will rebuild the .plist file with the default settings which can be changed if desired in iMovie's menu item iMovie>Preferences.
If all works OK, drag the original .plist file to the Trash. The file can become corrupted in some circumstances, such as when iMovie quits unexpectedly or is Force Quit. Deleting the file will not harm existing Events or Projects but may fix iMovie's odd behaviour.
It will be well worth upgrading to iMovie '11 - it has many new and enhanced features and can be purchased from the Mac App Store at a very reasonable price ($AUD17.99)

PS If possible, try your camera with iMovie at an Apple retail outlet. If it works there, then there is something amiss on your Mac. Perhaps try a different User Account on your Mac.

After 9.5.1 iphoto doesn't save changes in its library

Since I've updated iphoto to v9.5.1, iphoto doesn't save changes made to the library.
When I
- delete event
- import event from aperture
- import pictures
everything goes well until I close and reopen iphoto. Than everything is the same as when I opened iphoto before the changes.
So it doesn't save the changes in its library.
Anyone experiencing the same problem? Or anyone who has a solution?

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Reader XI doesn't save changes to any document !!!

I have a problem with adobe reader XI version 11.0.0.7 which started very lately in which I try changing settings at ctrl+k (Preferences) then just as I close the program and reopen it everything returns as it was and my document returns to page 1 with default zoom instead of my changes!! Although I have the save recent changes to document box checked. Also any other box that is checked or unchecked returns to what it was right after reopening the program.
My OS : win7 ultimate 64bit
P.S: I don't have Adobe Acrobat.

Ipad app doesn't save changes in dropbox or email

I created a fillable form in Acrobat pro and saved it in dropbox for client access. I open the document on my ipad using the adobe reader app. I type in info and have the client sign it, then I re-save in dropbox and email it. When I open up the document it shows none of the saved changes.

You need to view the form in Acrobat or Reader on Macintosh or Windows to view the edited form. It can't be a third party product like Apple Preview or an iOS app.
The other possibility is that when you copied the file to Dropbox, it didn't replace an earlier version of the file that was already there. It might be a good idea to edit the name of the filled in form if you are returning the file via Dropbox.

Reflow doesn't save changes

after saving and quiting reflow,, changes are not saved. does anyone have a solution for this problem i really need help here..

Are you using the latest version of Reflow (version 0.51) ?
This sounds like a problem some users had on an earlier version, but we believe it was fixed some time ago.

Mac Mini doesn't save changes when reboot

Right now my Mac Mini will allow me to install and change settings on the computer. Once I reboot the machine any and all changes I made are gone. How can I turn this feature off so that changes I make will still be there when I reboot?

ITunes 11.2.2 doesn't save changes to song info

I use to buy songs in my iPhone and then sync them via iTunes to my MacBook Air.
After sync my recent purchases to my MacBook Air, in iTunes I change the "Genre" for some songs to have a real ordered collection...
Ex: "Some song title.mp4"
original genre: Pop
new genre: Electronic
but I have found that after buying more songs and sync them with my Mac, iTunes sort of "rolls back" the change I made to Genre info. I mean, I cannot find "Some Song Title" under "Electronic" genre but on "Pop" genre. That's so annoying!!!
For some weird reason when I check the song's info, iTunes shows me that "Some Song Title" has correctly saved the genre, I mean, it shows "Electronic" genre. So, if I just push "Next" button iTunes moves "Some Son Title" back to the genre I specified (in this case, back to "Electronic" genre).
Hope you can ix this bug as this is very annoying to have an unordered collection, or songs under incorrect genres.

Can i use icloud to save changes to logic 9 projects on different macs?

hi peops, can i use icloud to save projects on logic 9? I use an imac at home but use my macbook pro away from home. everything is duplicated but find it a pain consolidating and have forgotten sometimes to updat a project on 1 machine or the other. iCloud seems a great way of doing what i want where ever I want

Logic isn't compatible with iCloud, so you have to save files on both computers

Xcode saves changes upon build, despite System Preference.

I have selected "Ask to keep changes when closing documents" in System Preferences / General.
If I open an Xcode project, I make a change, I build and run to see the effect, I close the project (not wanting this temporary change to save), and I am *not* asked whether to save my changes (undesired behavior). If I reopen the project, I see the changes were saved.
If I make a change and do not build/run, I *am* asked whether I want to save changes upon closing the project (desired behavior).
I've submitted a bug report to http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html/, but I'd like to find a fix for this problem as well.

I'm new to Xcode, but I understand this save-upon-build behavior used to be optional in Xcode's preferences (please see image at https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#recipes/xcode_help-general_preferences/ Recipe.html).
If a save is required before building, I wish Apple would warn so (and such warning could come with a "don't warn again" checkbox)…or maybe they could flash a "project saved" before or in tandem with "build succeeded."

SSL Definition doesn't save

When I define my single source layout, it doesn't save for some reason. I saved my project, but it still doesn't save when I reopen the project. I'm using RH7.

You could try creating a brand new SSL (do not duplicate the existing one) and see if that sticks. If it doesn't, post back with exactly what doesn't save.

Error message: iMovie cannot save changes to the library!?!

iMovie crashed my computer and now I can't creat a new movie.
Here's the full error message:
iMovie cannot save changes to the library.
The hard disk where your library is located may be full or unavailable or permissions may have changed. To avoid losing your work, quit iMovie.
What's up with this? I tried trashing the preferences, but got the same message. I have a 27-inch late 2013 iMac running Mavericks with 445.55 GB free space.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

You've already tried trashing iMovie preferences (By the way think in Mavericks you have to reboot as well after this for the new preferences to take effect) . One other thing to try is creating a new user account, logging in and seeing if you can create a new project in iMovie (of course you won't see your exisitng projects). If you can then iMovie itself is OK. If not then the only other thing I can think of is re-installing iMovie (see http://macs.about.com/od/usingyourmac/qt/How-To-Re-Download-Apps-From-The-Mac-Ap p-Store.htm)
Is everthing else working OK after your computer crash? Maybe you should also run Verify disk in Disk Utility.
Maybe someone-else has some other suggestions (I have not heard of this problem before)?

I recently upgraded from 4S to 5S. There are 2 games that I wish to transfer to the new device. 1st game isn't available in the Store anymore, so can't download. 2nd game doesn't save when you change devices. How do I get those 2 apps to my new phone? Tnx

Michael: are you still using an old version o0f PSE (e.g. PSE V4)? Problems similar to the one that you described are relatively frequent in old PSE Versions ( I was suffering a lot from them)..... and there are quite seldom in newer PSE versions. Unfortunately, I do not remember which PSE Version became much better in this area (was it V5? or V6?)
If using an older PSE version and encoutering often the problem: consider to migrate to a newer PSE Version..

Can't modify my Apple ID (doesn't allow to save changes)

Hello all!
So I've tried to change my Apple ID in the "Edit Apple ID" section of my account.
I deleted an alternate email (as this is what I would prefer my primary email to be) and changed the primary email to this address.
Now when clicking save, I don't receive any confirmation & it refreshes the page.
When attempting to leave the web page, it says I can save changes / disregard, when clicking save changes, it just refreshes the page!
Seems like a simple enough task but doesn't work?!
Isn't there an easier way you can change the account details on my iPad?
In addition, the eBay app I have doesn't allow modification of account details... thought that would have been a feature which most people would want access to?

From there, select "iTunes Store account security", then Continue. You will then receive another page, on that page, under "More Options", select "Email". You will then be able to provide the details of your issue and they will contact you in 48 hours or less.

Acrobat 11 pro (Creative Cloud master collection licence) doesn't save files changes only from the network and a user profile. We can't recreate the user profile due other programs setting

Steps to reproduce bug:
1. edit .pdf file from MS network (i.e a share).
1.1 Browsing the network.
1.2 Once that the file is found.
1.3 Select the file, right click and select edit with Adobe Acrobat".
2. save changes.
Results:
I get message box "document could not save because write access was not granted. only read"
Expected results: I have to save the file because the user has all rights file’s security.
Can you help me ?
