IMovie 09 - no sound in the viewer / no amplitude in the sound display

I installed OSX 10.6 and iLife09 on Monday on a new, clean hard disc. So everything should work i thought. Now, when I´m scrolling through a clip in the viewer of iMovie 09, there is no more sound! Also no ampltude in the sounds display. Dragging the same clip to my projects window, the sound is played / amplitude shown. With no sound in teh viewer it´s impossible to work with iMovie.
I´ve got no idea what went wrong. Would be great if somebody could help.

Yes I think it is related anyhow to the size of the database (or the amount of the data).
What do I do now!?
Currently I'm splitting the large iPhoto Datbase into smaller ones.
For this, I use the program 'iPhoto Library Manager'. It works quite well and I'm sure the sound will be back.
The other advantage is, I have smaller iPhoto Library - the 'old' pictures are in a kind of an archive.
With 'option'-iPhoto you can choose the Foto Library on startup of iPhoto.
The other thing which does not properly work is the sorting of iPhoto Events in iMovie. I shows the oldest movies on the top even when I choose to sort in the other way round.
I'm with this problem as well not alone - Apple is ignoring it as well...

How does one increase the y-axis (amplitude) of the audio tracks? My patient appears to have flatlined. I don't want to increase the gain, just the way the waveform looks on my monitor.

The "Expert view" is a part of the new interface of Premiere Elements 11. In your version 10, you have the Timeline and the Sceneline view choices.
For now, I will assume that you are in the Timeline view where you utilize video and audio tracks and not a Filmstrip with scene slots.
I suspect that you may be after the following. Let us see.
To the right of where it shows the name "Audio 1" is a microphone icon. That represents the "Audio Display Style". There are two Audio Display Styles and you can select one or the other by toggling that microphone icon.
a. In one instance, you will see the wave form plus a horizontal orange line which is typically the Volume Rubberband for Volume adjust. This Display Style has a light green background.
and
b. In the other case, you will see a dark horizontal line, no wave form. That dark line is on a light green background.
I suspect you are at "b". Are you aware that "a" exists.
If you want a really blown up version of "a" to look at, you could separate the audio from the video, double click the audio to open the Preview Windows, and then scale up the Preview Window.

How to get the view link definition from the view link accessor

Hi,
I am using Jdev 10.1.3 and ADF BC. I am trying to do deep copy in a master/details view, after the new child record is created, I want to update the foreign key attribute. I know I can get the list of attribute definitions from the row in the view object, which include the view link accessors, I am wondering if I can get the view link definition from the view link accessors, so that I can get the source and destination attribute names.

Audio won't play in the Viewer but will in the Canvas from the timeline.

If I select a clip from the timeline to open in the viewer, I cannot hear the audio even though both video and audio are selected. This only happens in certain projects. Anyone know why?

How can I get the View Tab name on the Crystal Report Viewer at runtime?

When a report is displayed in the Windows Forms Crystal Report Viewer and the user drills into the report, the drill down view is displayed in a seperate view and is identified via a View tab at the top of the report. I can determine the index of the view tab that is currently selected, but I need to access the text that is on the View tab. The only properties that I've found that pertain to the "view" on the Crystal Report viewer are the ActiveViewIndex and the ViewCount. Unfortunately, neither of these items help me because they are not specific to a certain section of the report. Has anyone had any luck accessing the View Tab properties ? Thanks.

The tabs at the top of the page are nested within some of the viewers controls. Through trial and error you just have to find the right one. In this case the main part of the report is in the first control. This happens to be a TabControl. From there you can loop through the TabPages on the TabControl to grab the names of the tabs.
Here is a quick example of what I did to get the tab text. All this code was in a button click event.

I want to modify the procedure doDML of an entity for the insertion of the records, but for it I need attributes of calculated type incorporated in the correspondent view of the entity. Since I refer to them?

Perhaps you should put the calculated attribute on the Entity Object, and change the VO to refer to the calculated object from the EO. Since the EO->VO relationship is "many to many," there isn't a method on the EO to refer to "the" VO, since there are potentially many of them.

There are many structure names started with WDY_WB_VC*where the details of the windows and views are stored just search those structures and see where its getting the tables in run time so that you can get the source tables.

I have one specific library that when I select the "view all clips" in the browser drop down box, FCPX locks up. Rebuild the library? What would be the best method?

Yes, Force quit is the only option. No background tasks running, nothing on FCPX works, save I can move the beach ball around.
All the other menu options work fine. In fact, FCPX works in the library except when I select view all clips in the browser.
I am running Version 10.1.3 . It is only this library that has the problem. I am a new user so I only have three or four libraries so far. Most on the same local external drive.
The only difference I have been able to determine is the library in question has files on my boot drive as well as the local external. Could that be the issue?

How can i force a mail link to open in the viewer and not in the Mail App?

I've a trouble about the mail links in a digital pubblication. I've to force a mail link to open inside the viewer.
A normal mail link causes the exit of the app and switch into the iPad Mail App... Is it possible force to open the mail link inside the folio with the DPS?
I've seen other digital pubblication made outside the DPS that can open the mail tab of the Mail App without exiting the starting App...

You can't with DPS, it will always launch the mail application registered with the operating system.

Remove the view detail button from the UWL

After migrating from Ep 6 to EP 7 and importing the same standard launchhandling config for ESS and MSS in the UWL, a "View detail" button appears in the EP7 UWL for each workitem.
Does anyone know how to remove or disable this "View detail" button?
(When an end users clicks this button he can click to go to the SAP gui and to other functionlaity we don't want to offer.)

The item type config and uwl standard views are allready both configured towards our needs. We have experience in changing this config and tried to change it in order to remove the button. But there is no option for removing the "view detail" button, in this config. At least we didn't find it. Also in the help documentation from SAP about UWL (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/39/a1bb5c4c0d4ab4a417e87ef35f1efa/frameset.htm) there is nothing to be found on the View Detail button.
We just don't want our users to see all the details from the workitem.
When this button is displayed users are also able to go to the SAP gui and this is highly undesired. Users should only approve / reject leave.
When the iview is displayed in the "normal mode" (not in the webdynpro mode) this button is no where to be found either. But in this mode the workitems cannot be started. It just opens a new portal page and not the ITS workitem.

Yes, I know what you are talking about. If you notice the date of that article in the upper left corner of the web page - March 2011 - what you see in that photo did apply in the Music App at that time.
The app was changed in the iOS 5 update, but the photo is the article was not updated. If you notice the heading at the top, it mentions iOS 4.3 and that was some time ago.
Many people - from what I have seen - really do not like the new look of the Music App. I am not in love with it. However, I don't use the Music App as much as many other iPad users, so I just live with it the way that it is and I hope that iOS 6 will bring further improvement.

Press the F11 key to toggle into and out of full screen mode.

there should be. Are you perhaps looking in the system library?
The User Library should appear in the Finder's "Go" drop down menu, like this:
If your system is Lion or Mt. Lion, you will have to hold down the option-key ⌥ to make it appear in the menu.
Then look in the folder Preferences for "com.aperture.plist" and remove it.
Don't forget to quit Aperture before you do this.
