IMovie 10.0.2 Crashed. My movie is now gone. What should I do?

Hi,
I had been working for two days on a project. While in the middle of editing iMovie froze as did the whole computer. I had to reboot the machine. When I went back into iMovie it had totally vanished. I unfortunately had not been running time machine
I bought (ugh) a recovery software and found the file. It's extension is "iMovie Library.imovielibrary". But I can't import or open it. When I try to import the file is shaded out.
I'd love some advise! Seeing ten years of work just dissapear is such a shame. Thanks guys,

In iTunes, log into your acount and goto Purchase history. Loocate the movie and to the right should be a link to report a problem. A rep from the iTunes store will hopefully resolve the problem.

After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error with an app. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Our imovies were accidentally saved as QuickTime movies. Now, they won't open. Neither program is recognizing the format. Ay suggestions?Ay suggestions?

Our imovies were stored in an external drive. The files were moved to drop box. We moved them back over to the external drive. Now, they won't open and look like quick time movies when you look at the file names. Neither quick time nor imovies can open the files, though. Any suggestions?

Just an update... A rep contacted me and we did a screen share. They were convinced that I wasn't full of <insert proper word here>. They promised to get back to me in a few days, and now? A few months later? Nothing.
Still no files. Still no correction... Still no nothing from Adobe.
The person I spoke to was kind, saying he'd make sure I got CC for free for a while...
Still though, no follow up.
Adobe, are you going to correct this or just let your customer suffer at your mistakes?

Safari Crashes every time I open it, what should I do?

Safari crashed 3 days ago and I haven't been able to recover. I reinstalled OSx 10.9.2 from the Apple website but it still continues to crash. While I can use other browsers with no apparent problems, I am concerned about this becoming a bigger problem, and even a security breach. Any suggestions are welcome.
I copied the entire report to a word file (I suspect that OSx may be saving it somewhere but I like wearing "belt and suspenders" just in case). And in case it is helpful to provide a suggestionm below are the first few lines.

My Macbook Pro keeps crashing and it gets very hot, what should I do?

I have a late 2010 15inch Macbook Pro.
Specs:
2.53GHz Intel Core i5
4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
500 GB HD
My mac keeps freezing and crashing on me. It might be because it gets really hot, but I really cant say for sure. Its been running slow the past few months and im not sure what to do. I keep it very clean and I doubt there is dust accumilating inside of it. Even if there was, I dont know how to check. Will upgrading the RAM help; if so, where and how? Also I only have about 25GB left on my HD.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
          SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
          View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if iTunes crashed, you would enter "iTunes" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, select
          DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

If you are using the iphone as it is designed you won't.
You should be importing all pics/vids taken with your iphone to your computer regularly as you would with nany digital camera.
Restart loses nothing, nor does reset.
Restore does erase, but you should always make sure that pics/vids are imported, contacts and calendars are synced, music is transferred to your computer.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

Locate and move the com.apple.iMovie.plist and com.apple.iMovieApp.plist.lockfile files to the Desktop, launch iMovie and try again. If that corrects the problem you can delete them from the Desktop.
They will be in your Home/User/Library/Preference folder.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
