IMovie 10.....I thought this was more intuitive.....clipping?

Thought this was moving to a more intuitive type program for laymen....
well iMovie 9 I picked up and figured things out almost instantly for basic editing for youtube
I cannot figure out how to select and area of the event I want to clip or delete.
I just dont understand those thin bars that you move to pinpoint a frame in time.
also...no audio now when i move the bar through the event...it used to give me audio.....sped up or down of course.....

Click and hold down for a second or two and you will see a handle and a yellow rectangle...then drag to the right...just like you did in the old iMovie, except the holding down part. Once you have the piece selected that you want to delete, hit delete just like before.

When I used Safari to go to the American Express web site a request came up asking me to register my Amex card.  I thought this was strange so I called Amex and they saw it when they went online and they said it was my iPad that had been hacked.  Is there an app to protect my iPad when I am online with sensitive information?

I located some suggestions for flushing the cache.
There are really three ways you can flush the DNS cache on your iPad.
    1) Simply turn the iPad off and on again using the power button. A simple reboot will go a long way.
    2) Turning on Airplane mode and then turning it off again will also clear the DNS cache and should be enough to fix the problem. Tap on your Settings icon, then swipe Airplane mode to On and then back off. Since Airplane mode disables the wireless features of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to comply with airline regulations, this will generally do the trick.
The third method would reset all your network settings and I'm pretty sure you don't want to do that right now.

I live in Somerset, UK, but having recently come back from a trip to Germany, my iPad thinks it is still  in Germany.  Is there any way to correct this?  I am new to apple conventions, but thought this was an automatic update when the iPad locks on to a local Wifi hotspot.  Any thoughts out there?

Thank you all for responding - much appreciated, but none of the advice has shifted my location from Germany.  Time Zone is shown as Lonon, Region Format is shown as UK, and Reset Network Settings seemed only to switch off the Wifi connection.
I'll leave it at that I think, and make do with the iPad thinking it's in Germany.
    Best wishes,

  • I still can't be on a phone call and use data without wifi on my Droid Turbo.  I thought this was going to be fixed by late November.

    I am so disappointed.  I am a long time Droid user and research the Droid Turbo for several months before purchasing.  I even read the reviews that indicated that there was a issue when attempting to use the phone calling feature and data at the same time.  I called Verizon and talked with a rep. who indicated that he had the new phone and assured me that this issue had been fixed.  Unfortunately, when I received the phone this was not the case.  Even an update shortly after purchase still did not fix this issue.  All of my Droids before this did not have this issue...how can a newer more improved phone?  I even called Motorola and the English of the representative was so bad that I could not overcome the language barrier therefore no solution was reached.  Wish I had my Razr HD back :{

I can understand the concern CCONLEY.   Go to Settings>Advanced Calling> and select Activate Advanced Calling or contact Customer Service to get the features added. Once added Reboot device and go back to Setting>Advanced Calling>and ensure the Advanced Calling switch is set to On. Ensure you are in a 4G LTE service area and test again.  If there is still an issue, please let us know so we can forward your findings to the software team.    TamaraH_VZW Follow us on Twitter @VZWSupport If my response answered your question please click the "Correct Answer" button under my response. • Thought this was a little interesting

I was just having a little look at the 'In Action' pages for Logic Studio and in particular, Mainstage.
Trent and the boys have a fairly elaborate set up and I thought it was a little funny seeing a laptop, that was definitely NOT a Mac, running Mainstage in their side of stage arsenal.
Wonder how Apple feel about it.... It's on their own site. Oops.

  • IMovie: hey apple i thought this was supposed to be easy!

I have iMovie 08 and am trying to upload some of my son's guitar video to youtube. I go through all the upload steps then get slammed with the dreaded, "COMMUNICATION ERROR" message.
"An error occurred during communication with the server ("lost network connection")..." then the message tells me to see if I am still connected to the Internet. Of course I am.
    Help!

Hello dj mark h. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Let's double-check your AirPort settings on the MacBook ...
System Preferences > Network > AirPort
    o Location: Automatic
o In the left column, verify that an AirPort option exists. If it does not, click "+" to create one. (Note: If you are unable to create an AirPort configuration, the AirPort card in your computer either doesn't exist or it is not recognized.)
o Verify that AirPort is "On." Click "Turn AirPort On" button if not.
o Ask to join new networks: (enabled)
o Show AirPort status in menu bar: (enabled)
Systems Preferences > Network > AirPort > Advanced

  • Thought this was pretty funny

My son is only 19 Months and he already loves computers. Every time I need to go into my office to do some work he stands by the baby gate smiling waiting for me to sit him on my lap while I work. On top of that he loves Apple Computers (great boy) so the other day I went to Best Buy to get some DVD's and when he saw the Apple computers he got so excited he was giggling and jumping up and down. I took these pictures real quick with my phone (sorry for the quality) and thought it would be funny to show them in response to the little kids Windows uses on their commercials. It was even more funny when the Best Buy workers would walk by and had to do a double take when they realized this little kid knew how to use the keyboard and mouse (not to really find anything but he knows what they are used for). Anyways just for some laughs, sorry for the story.

  • Lost all my bookmarks. According to Mozilla Health Check I got 58 (thought it was more). How to I get them back? Tried to follow your notes but got nowhere.

I have iMac upgraded to Snow Leopard. 30/7/13 obliged to reboot my computer and when it restarted found I was upgrading to Firefox version 22. Lost all my bookmarks. Understand bookmarks are in profiles/places.sqlite. Upgraded to version 23 on 7th Aug. and repeated attempts to restore bookmarks have failed.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

  • I thought this was a support forum.. Nobody replies

I was directed to this forum on my Z3 as a 'Support Forum'.. Where I'd the support, nobody replies to any posts

It is a Sony support forum and there are a few Sony employed members here but they are busy and leave the bulk of issues to we the members to help each other but there are occasions that we simply don't have the answers

  • I Thought This Was Only Supposed To happen To Microsoft!!!

Wow... I almost was a believer is all the hype... Bought an iPhone last year (for double of what you can buy one for today... triple for some...) and was seriously going to a MacBook Pro this coming week and moving fully out of Microsoft products, but...
Why couldn't Apple possibly give a current customer a SLIGHT bit of preferred treatment over the 3G minions, and give us the 2.0 upgrade maybe just a day earlier. I mean, we probably deserved to get the latest firmware a little bit earlier than the people that are getting a better phone at a far better price...
    Did I say Wow already???
    I was almost a believer...

    No, I live in Charlotte,NC.
My update is working. And, actually I don't care about the delay with that, it's just the complete lack of regard for the current customer. Look at the iPhone page... completely littered with 3G hype, with a tiny balloon on the bottom about a 2.0 update for current customers... Crap.

  • I thought this was wireless?? Help please..

As I'm holding for tech support, I thought that perhaps someone here could help me. I just purchased my Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router, Model WRT54GS. From what I understood the router would completely eliminate wires with the exception of the ethernet cable going from the modem to the router. The instructions are stating that I will have a cable going from the modem to the router and one going from the router to my computer? If so, that completely defeats the purpose of me purchasing a WIRELESS router, and I will be returning it promptly. Is this true? Please help...

Once you configure your router, you remove the cable.
