Imovie 3 picture slideshow with audio

I have very little experience with imovie and I cant figure this out. I have 93 pictures I want to put in a slideshow with effects. I have a song (MP3) that is 3 minutes and 29 seconds. How do I get my slideshow to run for just that amount of time displaying each picture for the same amount of time. I thought It would be easy but I cant figure it out. please help.

3 minutes 39 seconds = 209 seconds.
209/93 pictures = 2.247312 seconds per picture.
That's about 2.25 seconds.
Converted to the seconds:frames format used by iMovie, that's
2 seconds, plus (30 frames per second * .25) or 7.5 frames.
So set the Ken Burns duration slider to 02:07 or thereabouts.
Adjust as necessary for any dead air and titles at the start/finish.
Note that iMovie lets you select ALL the images and adjust all at the same time.
(Use 25 frames per second if you reside in a part of the world that uses PAL instead of NTSC.)

  • Creating Slideshow with audio

    Hello!
I'm working on a Flash CS3 file (with Actionscript 3.0) and
I'm trying to create a slideshow with an audio track. I have 12
slide images and a 12 minute long audio presentation. I want to
pause the images for variable times during the presentation - 20
seconds during the first slide, 60 seconds for the second slide, 80
seconds for the third, etc. I've been able to write a script that
loops along the timeline for the given time over the image then
moves on to the next slide image. It works great if I don't want to
pause and restart the movie, but I'd like to do that.
I've been able to create a single button that pauses and
plays the sound. Here's the tutorial I used to create this:
    http://twf23.wordpress.com/2008/02/06/start-and-stop-sound-with-actionscript-30/
But, I cannot get it to pause the timeline at the same time.
I can create a separate button that stops and starts the timeline.
I want one button to do both. It seems like I should be able attach
a function to the play_mc clip that also pause the timeline.
Eventually this will be a template for other such
presentations - where I can swap out the images and the audio thus
creating a PowerPoint-like slideshow for distribution on the
    Internet.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
iMovie is a very straightforward way to do this.
Import your sound and your images, stitch them together and then export them in an iPod compatible format.
    Job done.

  • Slideshow with audio

Hi, 1st time to use forums. I'm using idvd5.0.1 and iphoto 5.0.4 and trying to made a dvd of slideshow with music. If you make the slideshow in idvd it will only let you use 99 slides, and the music repeats itself (which is what I want). I have 234 slides that I would like to put on one dvd with audio of 3 and a half minutes. When I make the slideshow in iphoto and then send to idvd to burn, (it makes it into a movie), all the slides (234) are there, but the music does not repeat. Can this be done? any help or suggestions greatly appreciated. Mary (hope I've mae myself clear)

Thanx Sue for your help. First try didn't work, but I only had the one song and it still would not repeat. so what I did , was make 10 copies of the song that I took out of itunes, moved it to the desktop and from there, I made 10 copies on the cd and then copied those into itunes. Then used that playlist in iphotos slideshow, then exported it to idvd, and then it finally worked.... thanx again for all your help,. I was really getting very frustrated. I hadn't used forums before, but I'm a user and believer now for sure. Mary

  • Can Keynote play PowerPoint slideshows with audio intact?

I mean iOS Keynote on iPad and OS X Keynote on Mac OS X!  To play PowerPoint slideshows with built in audio and not just throw up slides.

Keynote isn't at all good at dealing with audio, so whether it's worth trying largely depends on the content of your powerpoints and how many you need to transfer.
If it were me, I think I'd look at using OpenOffice - it may make a better job of things for you.

  • IMovie still photo slideshow with theme - how?

(Sorry this question should've been posted in the iMovie HD 6 forum, so I have re-posted it there, but I don't know how to delete this post here, sorry for the double post. If you do have an answer for this question, please feel free to answer here, thanks!)
Hi I'm new to Mac, and I'm trying to make a photo slideshow with iMovie 6 HD. I wanted to use a theme for the opening, bumper, credit, etc.
From my understanding, I put the photos in the drop zone, put in the titles, and apply and drop the theme into the timeline. Then I drop the photos into the timeline as desire to continue the slideshow. However, problem arise as the animated theme ends, it doesn't connect with the photos that follow. For example, if I put 6 photos in the opening and as the opening animation ends, it zooms into photo #6 and it ends right there. I assume then I should drop photo #6 right after the opening theme, is that right? Problem is that the zoom level doesn't match and there will be a very obvious jump from the opening to the next photo! The same also happen to the beginning and ending of bumpers, and such.
Am I missing something? How do you make the transition smooth? Could somebody point me to some tutorials, threads, or provide some advice on how to create a photo slideshow with themes?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I need an answer pretty quickly; maybe I can rephrase the question and make it simpler...
How do you match the beginning/ending of a theme animation to match the photo before/after it, so that it doesn't look like it jumped?
    Thanks.

  • Slideshow with audio skips first few slides

I have a simple slideshow with 50 slides and 5 audio clips. THe main menu consists of one button that starts up the slideshow. When the slideshow ends it should return to the main menu. First play should be the main menu. I set up the links correctly and the Encore preview works perfect. After the disc is burned, ejected, and reinserted, the movie doesn't go to the menu but goes directly to the slideshow. On another try it goes to the main menu but skips the first few slides when the show  starts. What can I do to get the DVD to load to the main menu then start from the first slide?
The Begin Slideshow button has a link of slideshow18559... That's the slideshow's name followed by the name of the first slide-I don't think that's right
Here is first play (CD icon is selected)
Here is Begin Slideshow button selected
Here is rose menu hd selected to show links of Begin Slideshow and rose.psd(button) going to same place
Here is cameraslideshow selected to show link back to main menu for end action

I don't know why this isn't working; the links do look correct.
Audio can cause issues.  mp3's are often a cause.  Multiple audios clips on the same Encore timeline can cause issues. Audio gaps of even a few frames, or audio that is slightly shorter or longer than the video/slideshow can cause issues.
If you are putting multiple audio clips in the slideshow, I would take the audio to Premiere, and create one audio clip, and either dynamic link it, or export it as a wav.
Sometimes projects just get messed up, and the problems are resolved by starting a new project.
I prefer making menus the correct size for the Encore project, but some users seem to do fine ignoring this.  I don't think this is likely to cause what you are seeing.

  • How to convert PDF slideshow with audio to a format playable on devices of today?

I have several old slideshows (10-15 years old) that I created with Photoshop Album and are PDF files and can only be played with Acrobat Reader 5.  I kept Acrobat Reader 5 on my computer and never updated so that I can play these slideshow files.  The slideshows are very special to me and I would like to keep them and pass on to younger generations.  However, I cannot share my slideshows with others since they cannot be played with the PDF format.   Is there a software for converting these PDF files to .wmv or other format to make the slideshows playable on devices today?

  • How to create a slideshow with audio?

    Hi,
    I'm using iMovie 7.1.4.
I want to create a slideshow from 6 pictures, with an accompanying audio. The pictures should show one after the other according to audio, meaning the intervals are not equal, and I need to determine each interval while listening to the audio.
    How do I do it?
    Thanks,
    Gil.

  • Creating a video slideshow with audio

    Ladies & Gentledudes,
I have some recorded lecture notes (basically the lecture on digital
dictaphone), and also the Powerpoint or .pdf slides that go with the
lecture. I can seperate these slides out into raster images if needed
(eg use Grab to get them as .tiffs).
What software would you consider is the best/most effective to combine
them to create a video slide show of the Powerpoint slides to match
with the audio lecture notes that I have recorded? I would ideally
like to be able to view it through my iPod touch.
At the moment I can only think of using Garageband to clean up the
audio (although not 100% on how to do that), and then use iMovie to
    create an audio slideshow.
If you know of a free solution (or one that comes preloaded on a Mac)
that would be preferred, but I would also like to hear optimum and most effective
solutions as well if there is a cost involved.
Many thanks for your time and help, James

  • What is the best program to create a rehearsal dinner slideshow with audio, photos, and text?

I am about to make a slideshow/movie for my sister's wedding that includes photos, music, and text/titles.  Is imovie the best for this? keynote? or perhaps some other app I am unaware of?  Thanks for your input!

There are many ways to produce slide shows using iPhoto, iMovie or iDVD and some limit the number of photos you can use (iDVD has a 99 chapter (slide) limitation).
If what you want is what I want, namely to be able to use high resolution photos (even 300 dpi tiff files), to pan and zoom individual photos, use a variety of transitions, to add and edit music or commentary, place text exactly where you want it, and to end up with a DVD that looks good on both your Mac and a TV - in other words end up with and end result that does not look like an old fashioned slide show from a projector - you may be interested in how I do it. You don't have to do it my way, but the following may be food for thought!
Firstly you need proper software to assemble the photos, decide on the duration of each, the transitions you want to use, and how to pan and zoom individual photos where required, and add proper titles. For this I use Photo to Movie. You can read about what it can do on their website:
    http://www.lqgraphics.com/software/phototomovie.php
(Other users here use the alternative FotoMagico:  http://www.boinx.com/fotomagico/homevspro/ which you may prefer - I have no experience with it.)
Neither of these are freeware, but are worth the investment if you are going to do a lot of slide shows. Read about them in detail, then decide which one you feel is best suited to your needs.
Once you have timed and arranged and manipulated the photos to your liking in Photo to Movie, it exports the file to iMovie  as a DV stream. You can add music in Photo to Movie, but I prefer doing this in iMovie where it is easier to edit. You can now further edit the slide show in iMovie just as you would a movie, including adding other video clips, then send it to iDVD 7, or Toast,  for burning.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how professional the results can be!
To simply create a slide show in iDVD 7 onwards from images in iPhoto or stored in other places on your hard disk or a connected server, look here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1089
I haven't rried using Keynote, but that may also be a possibility.

  • Slideshow with audio in Flash CS4

I'm a Flash newbie making my first foray into scripting.
I have a series of AIFFs that were recorded during a lecture. They refer to specific images. I created a file with the audio playing in a frame, with "Next Frame" and "Previous Frame" buttons with the appropriate code from the easier (for me) actionscript 2. I'd like to click the button and have the presentation advance to the next frame.
When I test the movie, either the buttons don't work, or all the buttons go off, causing the audio to eventually loop endlessly.
Obviously I don't know what I'm doing. I tried some of the online tutorials but they didn't really seem to do what I need. I'd really appreciate any advice about how to do this, either in pointing me to an appropriate tutorial or explaining how this should be set up. It seems to me that what I'm trying to do shouldn't be too difficult but I can't seem to make it work.
    Thanks

    Thanks kglad. I pasted
    on(release){
    prevFrame();
    stopAllSounds();
On the "previous" buttons and pasted this on the "next" buttons
    on(release){
    nextFrame();
    stopAllSounds();
Now, the looping has stopped, but the previous button stops the audio completely, while the next button starts it. But the slides do not advance - I have three slides and the presentation seems stuck on slide #2.
Sorry I'm an idiot about this!

  • Duel Layer Picture Slideshow

    Hey,
I'm trying to make a high quality picture slideshow with duel layers...so a background behind the important images to make it look more professional (rather than a simple black background).
I know iMovie HD 6 has some premade "themes" where I just input the pictures into already made backgrounds sequences. Are there any other programs out there that do the same / something similar? I'm not happy with the way iMovie deteriorates the quality of the images and I want to also have more variety to choose from for the backgrounds.
Or are there any plug-ins for FCP that might work?
Thanks for any help / suggestions!
    Jules

is livetype useful for picture editing? i haven't really used that program before, do you know of a website or someplace that would help me get started?
    thanks!
