My iMovie 7.1.4 project can't find clip! exclamation points everywhere!
I think I may have changed the name of the clip, since (long story) I had exported the finished version and thought I was done.. but that had to be deleted to make room for something in an emergency. So of course, now that I want to re-export the project, it can't find the clip.
There are yellow exclamation points on every single piece in the project (hundreds) that are all supposed to refer to one hour-long clip. The clip IS in the event library. I can see it and watch it.
How can I tell the project how to search for the clip if it now has a different name? It's RIGHT THERE! This is so frustrating. Of course I can't guess the original super long crazy clip-name.
Every music/video program on Earth allows you to search for "missing" clips. This seems really lame.
Deleting cache.plist didn't help.
Please help! I spent many hours editing, and cannot fathom re-doing this one.

I had the same thing happen. Opened iMovie and all my events were there, but there was a blank "My Project" in the project pane. Even if I double-click the project file that I'm trying to see, it doesn't show up. Were you able to resolve it on your system?

Addressing right forum (iMovie6) would give better answer.
From iMovie 1 to 4 there was a media/project folder. iMovie 5 and 6 stores
Your project in a project icon. Open it by ctrl-click on it and select: Show
package content.
Now You see folder in it and Captured material is in the media folder.
When I tested iM5 and iM6 behaves in the same way. Am I missing something?

My imovie is running but I can not find it... when i go to the corner to view all my applications that are open i can see that it is there but it will not allow me to click on it and pull it up... it seems as if it is off the screen. Can anyone help?

Well I restarted and it reappeared in the menu of the desktop. So I think I'm good.

Help. Movie can't find clips

I think I messed this one up. My son was importing clips into a movie project. I stopped him because it was getting to be too much. Too late. Trying to empty the trash with unwanted clips resulted in a crash. So I had the brilliant idea to delete the unwanted clips from the movie folder. But then iMovie crashed on start-up saying it can't find "Clip 26". I've trashed the .plist. I've restarted. I've deleted the movie project altogether (we can always re-import the clips which I've cleverly rescued onto an external). Restarted again. I still can't get iMovie to come up. Now I get the message, "What would you like to do?" And when I click on "create a new project," crash. Please help. I've got an anxious budding movie producer here.

Thank you but no thank you. I figured it out myself and here's what I did in case anyone else is curious.
I logged into my account and created a new movie project calling it "TestMovie." Then I dragged this file into the shared folder in the users folder. Then I logged into my son's account. I pulled the Test Movie file onto his desktop and double-clicked it, thereby forcing iMovie to open this file, and forget about being hung up on the last file with the missing clips. yeah!
I've been working with System X since 2004 ... (have a G5 at work and a separate Apple account. I just opened this one yesterday from home cuz I've never really needed to from home before)
This seemed like a basic problem to me. Is iMovie '08 really that much different at its' core? Seems like any Mac person could've helped me in any forum. Thanks for trying.

Lost & Found
Create a playlist called Found, select everything in Music and drag it into the Found playlist (it may take some time to count the tracks that are to be dropped). Create a smart playlist called Lost matching All the rules Playlist is Music and Playlist is not Found. Your lost tracks will be in this playlist.
Optional: It depends a bit on why things aren't where iTunes expects to find them but if they are in sensible Artist & Album folders in some common location then my FindTracks script should be able to reconnect them to iTunes. FindTracks uses some fuzzy matching routines and searches for multiple potential locations. For more details see this thread. Once you have repaired the tracks that can be found you can drag the contents of the Lost playlist into Found which will update things.
Or, you can simply delete all the tracks in the Lost playlist with Ctrl-A to select them and then Shift-Delete to delete.

IPhone iMovie trailer shared to iTunes can't find in iTunes on my Mac

Basically, the subject line says it all. I created a trailer on my iPhone in the iOS iMovie app. I selected share to iTunes. I can't find the trailer in my mac's iTunes. Trying it again has gotten me the message 'already shared to iTunes.'

I don't find a 'Video' section in the iTunes iOS app. Only 'Music, Movies, TV Shows, Audiobooks, Tones, Genius, Purchased, and Downloads'. My iPhone trailer I created does not seem to be in the 'Movies' section (those look like movies available to rent).
On the iMac, I have successfully shared 2 iMovies (from the full iMovie app on the iMac) into iTunes and those show up.
I just can't find where, if anywhere, my iPhone's iMovie app would be sending those movies or trailers that I've created and that the iOS app says have already been sent to iTunes.

Can't find Clip that is choking Batch Capture

I'm getting a Timecode error saying Final Cut has reached the end of the tape when it tries to capture a particular clip. I can't delete the clip because it's not showing up in my browser window! In other words, it doesn't exist. Is there such a thing as invisible files in Final Cut Pro?

The thing that's got me the most confused is when I go over to my batch capture list to see what the timecode indicates, the clip that it's having probelms with isn't listed. It doesn't exist. How do I fix a clip's timecode parameters if I can't find the clip listed anywhere. The only time I can see the name of the file (clip) is when batch capture is happening and the program lists the clip it's trying to capture. The name of the clip ends with a number. The last clp closest to it has the number CU 5-1. The program is trying to capture CU 5-2...but there is no CU 5-2!

How can I find a turning point or inflection point on the curve?

I have encountered a problem, is seeking a turning point or inflection point on the curve.
The curve is monotonically increasing (slope is essentially the same); the slope tends to 0 after the turning point. Because of the curve is not actually a straight line, so the derivative of point by point seems comparison difficult.
First, I intercepted two new curves from the curve. One with monotonically increasing slope and another with remained constant slope. And I transform the two new curves to two absolutely straight with “regression” filter. Then find the intersection point of two absolutely straight. Through the X coordinate of the intersection point to find the corresponding Y value on the curve.Turning point is (x, y).
However, this method can only be used for a fixed curve. Because the range of the intercept values need to give the range, if the new changes in the overall length of the curve, the value of this range may no longer apply.
My question is: Is there a better way, or Diadem functions associated itself can solve this problem?
Any of your ideas and suggestions is important to me, thanks very much.

I would recommend the following generic approach, based on the pictures you submitted:
1) Create a smoothed channel from the raw data curve to remove random variations
2) Calculate a derivative/slope channel from the smoothed channel
3) Use the ChnFind() function to find the points where...
       the slope is close to zero
        the slope is positive
        the raw data is positive
        the raw data is close to the maximum channel value

How can I find the vanishing point with Labview?

I am using a myRIO for developing a system for helping visually imapaired people in their navigation. I have already done the image processing of what is being aquired by the camera (edge detection and finding of straight lines).
How can I fin the vanishing point from the two edges of a path in an image with LabVIEW? Is there any special function that I can use?

Cannot find file/exclamation point!!!

Some of my music in itunes will not play, it seems completely random which ones play and which ones decide not to. One day the song may play and the next day the exclamation point will appear beside the song when I try to play it. Please help, this is driving me crazy...i have an updated version of itunes, however this is not a new problem..just one i have been avoiding until i find the answer. Please help!

Make sure your files are all in the same place and updated.
The problems come when you start moving files and cleaning it up manually. I would erase all your albums in your library, and then re-add the folders to your library.
I think the problem is you are someone else is moving around your files manually. The exclamation point means the file wasn't in the palce it was the last time it played.
This happens to me when I use my itunes over a shared network. If the files are on another machine, and that machine is unavailable, the files show up as exclamation points.

Where can I find clips from crashed iMovie?

So, iMOVIE crashed unexpectedly while i was actually recording a video with the built in camera. I restarted the program and the clips werent there. I went to the imovie events folder and although there was a folder for the appropreate date and time for the clip, there was no actual clip. But the space on my hard drive is still missing as if there is a clip, so I know the data is there somewhere, how do i find it?

The ID created points to the internal PK used for that report/region. You can view the source of the HTML to see what that ID is.
However, I would not recommend using this ID for anything, as it will change when you move your application to another instance. Instead, consider using the Static ID attribute of any region or report. There, you can set a more permanent ID for that region, and refer to that programmatically.

Can't Find Clip Duration Button

I'm a complete newbie at video editing, trying to start learning…
According to the online tutorial there is supposed to be a clip duration button that appears when the pointer is hovered over a clip that allows one to open a trimming window of some sort. It doesn't come up for me - there is only a hand appearing in place of the pointer.
How do you make the buttons appear?

The easiest way is to select the 30 seconds you want by clicking and dragging. Once you have the frames you want selected, you can right-click and choose "Trim to Selection". Be sure to go into Preferences and turn on the Time Codes so you can edit to the specific frame.
If you prefer to edit using the fine edit window, do the same as above, but leave some extra frames on each end so you can fine edit to the specific frame using the fine editor.
