IMovie '9 No export Option..? WHY?

For the first time I used iMovie and made a nice clip that i must paly in an hour at my club and i try to export it.
I went to the file menu and i see there is no Export Option... WHY is that??? i Got a big problem here.... plz
Any help is More than WELOCOMED......

iMovie uses the 'Share Menu' to Export. So to get a finalized project export try this:
Share Menu > Export Movie... (choose Large size) and save it to the Desktop. This will create a .m4v file. But you can rename it .mp4 and play it back on other computers than the Macintosh that way.

  • IPhone 4 to iMovie to ATV2 Export options

What is the best way to export a movie shot on iphone4 edited in iMovie 11 and exported to ATV2?  I see the share feature but it does not seem to have HD which I though iPhone 4 did??
    Help please. Thanks

    AAAaaand still nothing.
Okay, a little update for me: i updated to iOS 7 (and despite severeal reviews I've read, it actually runs pretty darn good on this older model phone, better than iOS 6 in most ways, only a video lag issue that I was expecting from the reviews, but not as bad as many claimed, and everything else the reviewers were wrong about), and today got it's bugfix update.  Mainly I just wanted to see if the itunes transfer of Pages files to Word files suddenly decided to start working.  Nope, it didn't.
Another thing I've tried, before and after the update, is e-mailing the files rather than transferring through itunes.  It was a vain hope, but my thought was maybe itunes was corrupting the files in some way.  Well, my story is a little longer now, and the 10 pages of gobbledegook is now 15.  E-mail made no difference.
One thing I have not mentioned is exporting the files in .pdf format, that has always worked beautifully.  Problem is, I can't easily edit those files.  The easiest way is to copy and paste the body of the document into a word file, but after that I have to reset all of the carriage returns, and some spacings (mostly the double space after a period, exclamation point, or question mark; it gets turned to a single space).
This is why I want the export to .doc to work, so I don't have to constanly re-edit after just switching the file between computers (i do regard the iphone as a computer with a phone built in).  Why doesn't it work?  Can it be fixed?  How?  Of the, at this point, 79 views, someone must have an idea of what to do?

  • Imovie media browser only has one option, "Mobile". other videos had option for medium and small. mobile option wont import into iDVD. other videos gave me the Medium option, why not this one?

help! imovie media browser only has one option, "Mobile". other videos had option for medium and small. mobile option wont import into iDVD. other videos gave me the Medium option, why not this one? need answers ASAP!

    That is your answer then.
    Large is 960x540
    Medium is 640x480 (or 720x480)
    Mobile is probably 480x272.
It is offering you the sizes that make sense given the size of your source material.
As a trick, you might try this. In your project, put a short 640x480 clip in the project as the first clip of the project. Then keep the rest of the project as is. See if it will let you share now in Medium. It will not look as good, because there are not enough pixels to cover the Medium size, but it might work.

I will reply to my own question!
I was on my Windows machine when I began producing my video. During Export, I wasn't able to package it. After a few hours of research I found that Wraptor DCP is not supported (yet) on Windows platforms. I switched over to my Macbook Pro and viola!

  • Universal Highest Quality Export Option?

I am looking for a universal export option on my iMovie HD movies and iPhoto slide shows. It needs to be the highest quality that Apple TV can take while also being compatible with my iPhone. I've tried the "To AppleTV" option but that one is not compatible with the iPhone. I only want to encode once and not keep two or three different formats of my projects. TV shows and movies I get from the iTunes store are great quality on my TV and also sync to my iPhone. Why can I not accomplish the same? What am I missing? Please help.

Can't be done. You'll want to have two exports.
The iPhone doesn't have any "HD" options and the Apple TV does (720).
Some (most HD versions) you buy at the iTunes Store actually download two different files (one smaller version for the iPhone and iPod). The smaller version is the one that can sync to the iPhone.

  • Imovie won't export 1080p...

Hi Folks, I understand this topic has been discussed before but all previous solutions have not worked for me so, want to see if anyone in 2015 has any new insights. This is a long one, My apologies upfront.
I have footage shot from 3 different cameras: a Canon 5mkII, GoPro Hero 4 Black, and a Sony VG-30. All set to 1080p 24fps....cool?....cool.
The Sony VG30 records in AVCHD which is a friggin nightmare file format. I had a lot of trouble getting a solid conversion to .mov that said I did successfully convert them to usable .mov. I have double checked the files in quicktime to verify that they are all 1080p files. HOWEVER The formats appear to be different. Would this create an issue for a final export?? Here are the specs for each camera:
    - Gopro: GoPro AVC ENcoder, 1920x1080 AAC, 48000 Hz, Stereo (L R)
    - Canon 5dkII: H.264, 1920x1080 Linear PCM, 16 bit little-endian sign... (that's all quicktime shows)
Ok so the Sony VG30, Like i said I had a **** of a time getting a solid conversion, it seemed the longer clips needed a different conversation than the shorter ones, I had to do 3 different conversions to get all the footage into something usable here are the 3 formats:
Sony VG30 AVCHD/MTS Converted  to .mp4 with Adobe Lightroom: AVC Coding, 1920x1080 AAC, 48000 Hz Stereo (L R)
Sony VG30 AVCHD/MTS Converted  to aac.mov with "Free AVCHD to MOV" (from app store): H.264, 1920x1080 AAC, 48000 Hz, Stereo (L R)
Sony VG30 AVCHD/MTS Converted  to prores.mov with "Free AVCHD to MOV" (from app store): Apple ProRes 422, 1920x1080 Linear PCM, 32 bit little-endian floati...(that's all quicktime shows)
Ok so we are on the same page. We have verified that all the files are 1080p.
in iMovie I have a created a black 1920x1080 background as the first clip to start the video. As I understand it, iMovie uses the first clip to determine the movies resolution. additionally the 2nd clip comes from the Canon, which I've never had issues with. So we can rule that out too.
The last thing I did was duplicate the movie and remove all clips from the Sony and GoPro camera. This is where it gets strange. I removed clips one at time, and in between each clip removal I checked the export setting to see if 1080p became available. After removing ALL the sony and Gopro clips, 1080p WAS Available!!!!!
    BUT!!!!!
As this point the only clips in the movie were from the Canon, This is my primary camera and never have an issue like this. Thinking the problem was solved I started adding clips from just the Canon, after adding a few clips i check the export settings again and 1080p is GRAYED OUT!!!! ***!!! only 720p is available.
So this is where I'm at. I have no clue why this thing is stuck at 720p. It defies logic and I'm really stressing out. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated. I'm at a point where I starting from scratch is practically not an option. I'm assuming the formats has something to do with it, If someone could tell me which is the incompatible format, swapping out the clips isn't that bad, but right now, I'd spend hours in trial and error to figure out which clips are the wrong format. It would be a huge help. Thank you in advance!
    --RC

Just an update, on the duplicate movie i made, I deleted all clips EXCEPT the 1920x1080 background image in the first clip position, and the export option is still stuck at 720p!
    unbelievable....
It's clear that the movies inaccessible metadata or preferences are locked up at 720p. Why on earth did they take away "export using quicktime"??? ARGH! so frustrating.

  • Convert pdf to word doc-but don't have the export option.

I want to convert a pdf (that I got from an email) into a Word doc so I can edit it the way I want to. However, for some reason now I don't have the 'Export' option in my File drop down list.
Funny thing is, I've converted the document once already and have entirely forgotten how I did it obviously!
I've made so many changes in my first conversion I want to start over.
why don't I have the 'Export' option? Or ... when I do a 'save as' and chose 'word doc' it only does a copy - paste type save - where I can't make any changes. It's like it puts it into a text box or something.
    I have MSWord 2010.

This usually happens when you're dealing with a very poor quality scanned document that doesn't have enough data for the Acrobat OCR engine to actually process.
As for Acrobat 6.0 Pro, I don't believe the Save as Word function was introduced until version 8.0, but it's been a few years and the memory of Acrobat 6 has faded a bit.

  • Export Options not displaying in Object Style Options panel

    Hi,
I'm trying to create an object style for decorative images as artefacts and set that style for export to PDF, but in the Object Style Options panel the Export Options settings (which I've seen before, bottom left of the panel) are not displayed. Can anyone tell me how I can make them visible? I'm on InDesign CS6.
    Thanks, Ally

    Hi changilainen2,
Yes, we are following Adobe Forum!!!
Thanks for your inputs. Actually while implementing this feature we were bit confused if it is of more importance to have these options in the Object Styles. That's why you are finding it missing from there.
But feedback from you and some other folks, made us realize that we should have it in object styles too.
Thanks we'll try incorporating this in the feature.

    Environment:
    OS: Windows XP (SP3)
    Crystal Reports : 12.1.0.892
We are making use of Report Viewer in our applciations (.Net)
And when we want to export to Excel 2007 and CSV we are not able to find options.
We can see only Excel (97-2003) and other options.
How we can get export to CSV and Excel 2007 (.xlsx)

Not sure why that would be the case. See the wiki [Available Export Formats, Crystal Reports 9.1 to Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/FINiAw] for more details.
Three things I'd like to mention / recommend
    1) You are on CR 2008 Service Pack 1. Update to SP4 by installing, then installing SP4. Service packs can be found on the downloads page:
    http://service.sap.com/sap/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm
    2) Note from the wiki that the some export options are not available via the viewer, but are available via the engine (not sure if this is the case here).
    3) For an exporting sample app see vbnet_win_export.zip from this location:

  • Export option for highest quality posting to Google video and YouTube

I'm trying to figure out what the best export options are for posting video on Google Video and YouTube. My primary interest is skiing video with quick actions. Here are the 5 options I tried on my iMovie HD 6, the latest and the greatest:
    MPEG4, LAN
    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2913246368993273712
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xL6RHKXydhQ

    Quicktime, LAN, 320x240, Deinterlace
    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2101048758986639008
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rExhbmBksVs
    Quicktime, LAN
    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8289794703671829891
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-nwmyJ-y_g
    Quicktime, LAN, Deinterlace
    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1116022416411494165
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4Wch75hTzs
You can get the whole list on each site with following URL
    http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=imovie-quality-comparison
    http://www.youtube.com/my_playlists?p=C0D08A3D961234E4
Each video has cross reference URL in the description which link to the same video posted on other site.
Currently my choice is "Quicktime, LAN, Deinterlace" on Google Video. Only thing I don't like is doubling of image for fast moving part, which somehow disappears if I reduce the size to 320x200, but then it is too blurry when displayed in full screen.
None is usable on YouTube. They look horrible, but there are much better quality videos on YouTube.
Since there are so many knobs to play around on each option, I'm at loss what to play around with. I did quick things like increasing the size to 720x480 or increasing the frame rate, but surprisingly, none seems to make any difference when filtered through their encoder.
I like to solicit suggestions on what option to try. I'll export the same video with that options, upload it to both sites and we can take a look.
    eMac & iBook   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Hi — I also found you via Slashdot. You've gone to a good amount of effort to solve this scientifically.
I'm just here to say: Face it, you need to go past the built-in options. Here's what you need to know:
    1. YouTube is 320x240 (or 320 by anything lower, for widescreen). You must scale to that.
    2. YouTube is 30fps maximum, so if you already have that, set that. If you have 25 or 24, use that. If you have 50, it looks better with 25 (I've tried).
    3. The interlacing choice is purely up to your original video. Does it have 480 lines or 576 lines? And if so, does it have fluid "live camera" motion, unlike film? If your answer is yes to both, then you have interlacing. Since YouTube doesn't do interlacing, you need to remove it.
    4. Both YouTube and Google Video have a problem with the (seemingly open, standard) MP4 format. We think it's because of the VLC software they used. Anyway, use a QuickTime MOV file for the wrapping container, so export to QuickTime Movie (not MPEG-4). But use the H.264 codec. It's good.
OK, that's it. It's your pretty complete, simple guide to making good YouTube videos.
Don't forget to use a tripod and external microphones, and lay off using the zoom too much. That's my other advice, for earlier in the process. Now you've learnt everything technical The rest is only down to viral marketing and you can learn all that by example out on YouTube.
    CK.

  • Export Option Disappeared

Since my computer updated to the current Quicktime, I am no longer able to export my music files to wav format. If the procedure changed, I am unaware. I used to open the mp3 or similar file in QT and bring the music bar all the way to the end the do file export. The export option is grayed out and I am unable to select it. Please advise. Thank you

    Well done and understood!
If you "convert" your "protected" .mp4 files (no need to actually "burn" the CD version) you can use "protected music" in any of your "i" apps.
iTunes can "convert the .aiff format. iMovie "knows" what to do with the file. iPhoto can allow you to "export" your sound track.
Simple and easy with a Mac or even a PC.
