Imovie app doesn't export full screen?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Did anyone even watch the video the user posted? It's the way the app handles videos shot in portrait mode. Rather than exporting them full screen it effectively rotates the video and adds black bands on each side to make the portrait video a landscape video when it is exporting it. It is a pain because that means you must shoot every video in landscape mode to take advantage of the full 720p HD. There is no excuse for it and it should be able to create the videos full screen regardless of orientation.

Is there an app available somewhere that will allow me to preview (not necessarily to capture) the video and audio from a DV video converter in full screen?
Basically, I want to be able to use my Canopus ADVC110 digital video converter in conjunction with my HD cable TV set top box to watch TV in full-screen on my Mac (uncompressed).

Well, hTV is working, but I'm having issues with audio lag. The audio is slightly behind the video.
Anyone have experience with this app? Anyone have any better suggestions than hTV?

Apps do not remember full screen mode

When I open a app, like Safari, and I go to full screen mode the app works great. When I'm done, I close the app and after a while I open it again. In my case it will open the app, but it will open in the "normal" mode, not the full screen mode. Anyone having troubles with this?

I don't have this problem. Try this:
Open System Preferences > General Settings > Make sure the "Close windows..." checkbox is unticked.

Can we make an App always open in Full Screen?

Is there a way to make certain Apps (ie: Safari & iTunes) always open in Full Screen as default?

go to system preferances -> general -> uncheck close windows when quitting an aplication.
that works for me though. So everytime i close my safari and reopen it will still in fullscreen.

How to disable app from opening into full screen mode

Dear all I'm on OSX 10.8.4 and every time i start an app it'll go to full screen even after quiting it and opening the app again. Is there a way to stop this from happening

Full-screen mode is controlled by you. If you take it OUT of full-screen mode (go to the very top right of the screen, wait for the menubar to drop down, click the blue inward-facing arrow icon), and THEN quit the app, it will remember the preference and open in normal windowed-mode next time.

Mail app won't remain full screen at restart

I'm using sparrow on 10.8.2, and everything was perfect a couple of days ago...until it would always open in normal mode and require that one click to go back to full screen every time it starts. I'm pretty sure it's because I did something wrong...because it was fine before...but I can't seem to figure out what I did wrong? I even delete the app and reinstall, restart the computer...

Nevermind...I got it. It's  > System Preferences > General > Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps....
Which I just turned off a couple of days ago because I didn't want safari to start every time with the previously browsed webpages...
Guess no way around this conflict then...

Hold down the power button on your iPad until it has a slide switch saying "Slide to Power Off." Slide that switch and let the iPad power all the way down. Now hold the button again until the Apple Logo appears and let the iPad turn back on. This usually solves rotation issues.

Export Full Screen WMV (PP CS4)

I'm trying to export to a wmv format but when I play the video file, the dimensions stay fixed rather than expanding with the window if I maximize it.
What settings do I need to change in PP or Encore to allow the video to expand.
The source file is actually a wmv (I've just shortened it) and it expands along with the window. I've tried exporting the shortened video using the same dimensions as the source (changing the settings in PP) and it still has the same small and fixed dimensions.
Yes, the resolution deteriorates obviously but that's ok.

I just want to clarify my problem. When I open the source wmv file in Windows Media Player, I can expand the window or make it full screen and the video also expands. When I try to do the same thing with the exported wmv file, the video itself remains fixed width and height when I expand or make the window full screen.
The source file is also wmv. The specs of the file are:
Frame width: 1024
Frame height: 576
Data rate: 3072kbps
Total bitrate: 3104jbps
Frame rate: 25 frames/second
All I've done was to remove some footage to shorten the runtime of the source file. Specifically, I imported the source wmv into a new PP project and cut out portions of it.
I clicked on File / Export and used the following specs:
Format: Windows Media
Under the Video tab:
Codec: Windows Media Video 9
Allow Interlaced Processing [unchecked]
Encoding Passes: Two
Bitrate Mode: Variable Unconstrained
Frame Width: 1024
Frame Height: 576
Frame Rate: 25
Pixel Aspect Ratio: D1/DV NTSC (0.9091)
Please let me know if you want more information.

Why my numbers doesn't have full screen button?

I'm reading the guider now, it says that in the upright corner there is a full screen button, but I can't find it. Anyone help me?

The new version removed the full screen button and functionality. I am not sure if they have updated the document your reading or if you downloaded an old version of the documentation.

Projector doesn't launch full screen

I am having a strange problem. I have created a as3 projector file (flash player 10) which launches full screen. And it does launch full screen on all computers here in our office. We have sent out the files to the client last night and they have started installing them in their computers. It works on all computers except one. They say in that particular computer the application launches but for some reason not full screen. They can manually switch it to full screen by clicking on Command F.
I have a feeling they somehow must be launching an older version of the application by mistake, even though they are certain that they are clicking on the most recent one. Is it possible to prevent full screen launch in a preference setting somewhere?
Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated.

Hi, although I can't be for sure with the information given. It sounds like you are running in Windowed mode. Look in your game options and see if there is an option to turn windowed mode off.

Is it just me or are you experiencing the same issues?

This discussion will explain in great detail how you can sync to a new computer. Give it a look. After you get the new computer set up to sync, you can try downloading iMovie in iTunes and then sync it to the iPad.

Now that we have a better idea of what you were trying to do ..... Give this a try. This has worked for a number of people that had issues with apps that would not update.
Check iTunes and see if you have a pending or stalled download in there. If you do, finish that download or delete it if you can.
If that doesn't work or if that was not the problem, go to Settings>Store >Apple ID, tap your ID and sign out. Then reboot the iPad, Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Then go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and sign in again and see if the apps will update.

IMovie wont show preview in full screen?

Here's a screen capture of what I mean. I was messing with the settings one day and now my iMovie makes the file narrower and distorts the quality and makes it look pixelated. I just cant remember what I changed in my setting. Is there a way to restore my changes? Before when Id upload a file it would take up the entire preview box not leave bline lines on the sides. Help?

Try a different aspect ratio in the "General" tab of "Project Properties" in iMovie's "File" menu.

Imovie inspector doesn't show full options

Last week I bought a new videocamera. It's a JVC Everio 525, with full HD options. The last year I've been working with an Canon FS100, software on my macbook ('08) is iMovie '09.
I imported movies from my old cam, never a problem. But ever since I imported movies from my full HD-cam, the options in the inspector are changed, even for the 'old' movies. Usually I get the precision-editor and several other options like the upspeed function, after converting the file. Whenever I try to open the inspector now, it's half-transparant and I lost the options like converting for speed-change.
Tried nearly everything, reboot, deleting the new movies, deleting iMovie completely, but the problem with this last thing is that I can't get iMovie '09 in the appstore and my Macbook isn't ready for iMovie '11 (unfortunately).
Is there anybody who can help?

Usually, when this happens, it's a result of corrupt preferences. Go to HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences, delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist, empty the Trash & then restart Pages.

6th generation classic doesn't have full screen static cover art feature

my old 5th generation ipod classic had a function to display the cover art in the entire field of the 2.5 inch screen while playing the song.....i went into the a local apple store and asked the rep if the 6th generation classic had the same functionality.....after tooling around trying for 15 minutes to find it, two guys couldn't......does anyone know if the 6th gen ipod classic let's you display the image in the whole 2.5 inch screen while the song in playing, or is this a limitation of the new "cover flow" feature?

IPad HDMI full screen?

Tried the BT Sport app for the first time tonight via HDMI to my TV and was disappointed to find that the picture appeared in the middle of the screen, surrounded by black bars. Just to be clear, I am using an iPad 4 with the digital av connector and have selected the full screen icon in the app.
I googled this issue and it seems that apps need to support full screen output, so why doesn't the BT sport app and will it be updated?
Or am I doing something wrong?

You are right - the App doesn't support full screen via HDMI. The best you can do is use your TVs zoom function to minimise the black bars.
I found that the iPhone app was slightly better, and fills the screen if you use 'Caption Zoom' on my Sony which cuts out the Clock/WiFi bar in Portrait mode.
I don't know which app gives the better picture however on a full size TV - they both had noticeable artifacts on the TV even when seemingly at best quality on the idevice screen. Not surprising as the app streams are not designed for TVs. I suspect plugging a laptop in via HDMI and running the Silverlight player full screen is a better bet.
BT don't want to make it too easy to display on a large screen TV - they would rather you took out a BT TV subscription you see!
