IMovie: Can't export because I deleted clips and couldn't find using iExplorer either...help!
I found a discussion that had the same exact problem as I had...that person was able to export it useing iExplorer and going to apps, etc. I tried and it says the movie folder is empty. I cant still view my iMovie on my iPad but it wont let me save it or export it.
Due to you accidentally removing files associated with the project, it cannot continue to edit it. Although, IMovie does back ups of your project so I it can be played back, but as I said it cannot continue to edit it. This has happened to me before and luckily for me I was able to get the media back. Although I did have to start again. Here's your options:
- Remove the Project from IMovie. Then attempt to get your media back and start from scratch.
- if you backed up your IPad when you had the media, and restore it using ITunes.
- Maybe look up Recuva.

after i reinstalled my OS system, imovie and iphoto stopped functioning -- i can still see the icons in Application, but when i tried to open them, error messages popped up. For example, for imovie, i got "The QuickTime components necessary to view, edit, import, and export several kinds of movies are not installed. These components are included with the iMovie installer; please re-install".
i know that i should reinstall them, but the problem is: i bought my Macbook Pro in 2010, and it either came with ilife components installed, or it come with an ilife DVD (but i couldn't find it). In such a case, is there anyway to get them back without purchasing new ones?

I haven't replaced the music in my back catalog of iMovies. That would be quite a project.
I did try a burned DVD and that played fine.
As a test, I once again purchased a song on iTunes but I can't import it into either iMovie or iTunes.
I'm running Quicktime 7.4.1. and not 7.5 because when I did the automatic 7.5 download all my iMoves lot sync. That wasn't the 'hang' problem, it was more like watching on YouTube where the frame rate and the audio don't match up.
I backed up my system, erased and reinstalled. Once I came to the 7.5 update, I had the problem again. Then, I did an archive and install - OSX, ilife, and all the upgrades except QuickTime 7.5. Along the way, I tested iMovie to see how it worked.
Instead of going all the way to 7.5, I did 7.4.1 which was the one before. My iMovies are now all in sync but, I'm not authorized to import or play. I did all the steps to reauthorize but I'm at my present impasse.
I'm sure that if I upgrade to Quicktime 7.5, I'll be back in the YouTube out of sync mode. I also didn't reinstall any 'flip4mac' or 'Slick' software (all of which worked perfectly until the 7.5 upgrade.)

Everytime i plug my phone into itunes it says it cant connect because the phone is locked well i restored my phone twice and set a new passcode the last time and it still wont work . I even deleted itunes and reinstalled it , it dosent work . HELP PLZ !!
I had the same issue. I tried everything unchecking / rechecking, formatting Iphone and restoring from backup etc etc.
In the end it was a simple issue which might of might not help you.
A number of months ago I relocated by Itunes folder to a NAS drive. It appears when I did the last I tunes update Itunes set the destination path of the Itunes media to the default location, the result was Itunes couldn't install music,apps, video until I set the correct destination path.
The bit that confused me was it was transferring some media. This was of course the media I had downloaded since the last Itunes update which had gone to the default location.
I hope that makes sense and is off some help. -
I'm trying to replace a missing font and apparently it's a graphic. It's not letting me replace with another font and click change. I can't export until it's fixed and I need to fix / bypass as soon as possible.
Go find the graphic in question, and open it in its native program. The problem will have to be fixed there.

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.

I have iWork on my new MacBookPro and it works fine. But I had the Beta iWorks in iCloud on my older desktop. How do I get the Beta iWorks off my iCloud because it is different (and better) when I use it on my MacBookPro? Shouldn't the iCloud be the same as the MacBookPro iWorks

No, they are different apps. The beta one in icloud is for use by PC's as well as Mac's via a web browser and lets users collaborate on documents. It can't removed. Just ignore it if you have no use for it. -

Whenever I connect my 4th generation iPod thouch, all of the playlists on my iPod get deleted. This is very frustrating. Someone please help me? I searched the settings on iTunes and couldn't find anything.
Also, when I go on to safari, another alert pops up that safari cannot verify the identity of the website, anything that I type in to as common as google.com. It gives me 3 options to either cancel, look at details, and continue. I've looked at the details of the website of Google and it is legitimate the site. Any help?

There really isn't any workaround to the cost. You can't get the parts needed to fix it yourself. Only Apple has those parts and they do not sell them to end users.
Sure you could take it apart and clean everything and the screen might start working again but then it might not. Depending on what cause it to stop working in the first place. Like something got shorted out.

I made a mistake. I have an iMovie project and I'm very satisfied with the outcome. But I cannot anymore export the project, because I have deleted the original files.
However, I am able to play the video within iMovie. So the movie seems to be somehow there.
Do you know a way of how I can export the movie, so that I can make a DVD from it?

MarcusAre you using the latest iMovie? On my iPad 3, using the latest (legally purchased) iMovie, it doesn't make a copy of the original video upon creating / editing a new project. There's an <app home> / Library / Application Support / <projectname> / Movies directory, but it's empty. Again, at least on my iPad 3, where deleting the source files renders the project unplayable. Note that I haven't exported the project to iTunes (have you?).
You should check out that (those) directory whether they have anythign in them. (Use iExplorer or Phone Disk) I'm sure they will. -
So imovie can't export native HDV?

But I think you'll find that's because HDV is severely compressed: it consists of one full frame of video, followed by - for the next 14 potential frames - descriptions of what's different between that 'key' frame and each of the succeeding 14.
AIC creates proper, editable frames so that you can be frame-accurate with your editing, instead of being accurate to only every fifteenth frame (or half a second).
It's rather like using the HC1 HDV camcorder; it takes far longer from switch on, or selecting 'Record', to starting to actually recording video than it takes a normal DV camcorder, such as my old faithful TRV900. [..There's a bit of reassurance for Karl!..]
That's because instead of just recording the picture, it's got to do complicated maths to work out what's different between the first frame, and everything which follows that, and then "jot down" those differences in compressed MPEG-2 form. That produces small file sizes, and the ability to record hi-def with a standard-def tape drive and mechanism, but iMovie can't do frame-accurate editing with that kind of fifteen-frame uncertainty.
It's either one thing or the other; small file size, and inaccurate editing, or accurate editing and large file size. That's the HDV trade-off. I'll try and find out how Final Cut Pro resolves this difference..

I am quite surprised this made it through QA .. Try creating a tabbed panel in a tabbed panel. Then in the embedded panel, create an onclick link to a parent's tab. It is 100% ignored.
