IMovie clips freezing and lagging

I created an announcement video with music, multiple clips, and sound effects in it. When I preview and when I export it, the movie freezes in several locations no matter what I do. Is there a fix for this yet?

IMovie clips freezing/stuttering while editing in playback & after exporting to Quicktime

I've been working with iMovie since 2003 and if its not one thing, its always another. This particular problem is a new one, and I can't seem to find the get around. Any advice would be appreciated!
Working on a wedding video (large event size but only 6-8 minute project) and the clips are freezing/stuttering in the project and viewer windows when I try to play them back. Each time it freezes, I get the spinning wheel for 5-10 seconds before I can place my marker and try again. Endless cycle. This happened in a few other projects, but those I was able to edit out the freezing clips OR found that exporting to Quicktime seemed to smooth out the glitches, just made editing a pain.
Not this time. Even after exporting to Quicktime, there are still numerous glitches in my quicktime movies (using default and numerous other settings).
Here are the things I've tried: reinstalling my iLife 09 software, running all the updates, clearing off my hard drive (to give me 70+GB of space), detaching my external hard drive and only using internal memory, restarting, and deleting the plists. No luck, still have these glitches.
Could this be an issue with audio or using the stabilization option (used that for the first time)?

Would putting all of the clips and the project on an external hard drive help? Would updating to OS 10.5.8 help exporting to QuickTime?
plus your profile, MacBook, indicates to me, your internal harddrive is full.
check with DiskUtility, how many partitions your internal drive has.
check, how much free disk space internal you offer your apps.
imho, extHDD is a MUST when editing video..

use 'Export using Quicktime', choose dv-stream (for SD content) or AppleIntermediate (for HD content) - these are the only codecs, iMHD6 reads..
this export consolidate the project => it comes into iMHD6 as a single solid file, e.g. no more editing of titles, which are now 'burned into film'.
_consider to create a special 'transfer'-version of your project:_
in Project Browser, select project, ctrl-click, 'duplicate', and create a pre-production version (no titles, no music, additional material for further editing, longer clips to add transitions in iMHD6.. ect)

Phone 5 is freezing and lagging

My iphone 5 keeps freezing and lagging. It doesn't alert me when I get text messages and when I open my phone I will have 15 texts messages. My phone also feezes when I press to open my text messages or even try and open my phone. Can anyone help me?

Press home button twice quickly, in new row of icons at bottom, press and hold one until red minus sign appears, delete them all. Then Reset, hold both home and power buttons for about 10 seconds until the iPhone restarts itself, ignore the slide to power off, let iPhone restart itself.

Video clips freeze and green screen after updating Toshiba PC health

I recently responded to a message from my PC Health monitor utility to download and update software. After doing this I can no longer watch video clips on line (e.g. youtube clips freeze and picture goes green and internet freezes becomes unresponsive requiring shut down restart.
I have tried downloading intel graphics drivers but get a message that says this app can't be run on the PC, seek info from manufacturer?

Thanks for getting back to me and apologies - of course I should have provided better detail in my original post. I am not sure on the detail of the driver I updated but I THINK it was the Reltek one?
Laptop model is Satellite C850 and part number is PSC8WA-05D001 I have tried to download the graphics and audio drivers from your site. When I do though, download goes really well until the last 2 % and then it freezes?
I got it to complete by pausing the download and restarting it but then when I go to run it two things happen. 1. I get a Windows message saying something to the effect that it is not a recognized app an d a read more link. Clicking on the read more link gives me a chance to choose "run anyway" but then I either get "this app can't run on your PC, check with software publisher".
Other driver apps seem to get ready to run with a program window headed TSS_Setup.exe but an error message then appears in red "error occurred in reading archive. [121]

IMovie 4 freezing and stuttering

Here's my new thread to my old problem:
Installed new OX 10.3.9 bundled with iMovie 4 and QT 7. iMovie 4 does not work at all, even for simple video projects -- freezes and stutters and impossible to use. Problem is not related to number of audio clips -- adding just one audio clip greatly exacerbates the problem. Have added RAM and have plenty of available GB. Tried changing default H.264 setting within Quicktime (as suggested in QT thread). Still no improvement. It's been suggested that my system is inadequate, although per system reqs, mine should do. It's also been suggested that iMovie 4 and QT 7 are a troubled couple and just don't get along, but have not found a way to downgrade to QT 6. (The downgrader suggested only works for 7.0.1 or something; I have 7.1.3.)
My question now is: can I install a new version of iMovie that has the right version of Quicktime? What about iLife 5, which my system supports, at least for iMovie, which comes with QT 6.5.2? Will it overwrite my newer QT?
I know iMovie 2 is stable, and I could go back to it, but it's such a pain to switch operating systems, and that version is relatively primitive, so I'm really hoping to stabilize my new system. Then, I'll leave it alone!

Thunderbird freezes and lags constantly

I have been using Firefox for years and loved it above any other email client - until it started lagging a few months back. I don't know what caused it, it just started happening one day and never stopped after several updates and a few un-installs, it always returns.
The problem is pretty simple, every few minutes, at random periods of time (can be 10 seconds, can be 5 minutes) the program freezes and doesn't allow me to do anything at all. Sometimes, especially if I insist and keep clicking or typing, the screen whitens out a bit and I get a "non responding" message next to the program name. This lag can last anywhere between 10 seconds and 1-2 minutes.
I use it with Gmail and I should tell you that I have 100s of folders, but my inbox is clean. I never go over 100 emails in it at right now I have 4. I can't avoid the use of so many folders because of my work dynamic, I need to assign a new folder to every new client and several sub-folders for every provider associated with such client (I'm a travel agent).
I used to have Lightning installed but I removed it thinking it might be the cause of the problem - it wasn't.
I hope I can find a solution to it, I don't want to switch back to Outlook :(

If all of the above does not help, try what I did.
Windows explorer to C:\USERS
RIGHT click on your account and choose "Properties"
In the General tab, select the Advanced button
Uncheck the box "Allow files in this folder to have contents indexed in addition to file properties"
Select OK, and then select APPLY
When asked, allow this to apply this to all sub-folders. Click OK to close this window.
THIS WILL STOP THE HIDDEN APPS FOLDER FROM BEING INDEXED, WHICH WILL STOP WINDOWS FROM INDEXING YOUR EMAILS (which is the cause of the problem).
Next, go into your account folder and select just the folders you want indexed.
Repeat the above process of those folders (this time choosing to index the the folder and its sub-folders).
Ta da. Worked like a charm for me.

Still Freezes and Lags

I have a curve 9330 from Verizon. I have all but the default apps closed I even pulled BB messenger. I have pulled the battery andhard booted I have a clean load of OS 6 and the phone still freezes when typing a txt message The freeze or lag if you want to call it that lasts from 1 to 15 seconds. This happens at least 20 times a day. I have searched the knowledgebase and done everthing to no avail.
Any help before I smash the phone would be appreciated

What version of OS 6 do you have installed? If it is the most up to date version, you may need to report this issue to Verizon along with the steps you've tried so far.

Firstly, it's never supposed to be on your lap. Read the manual warning regarding this. It's not a laptop, it's a notebook computer. Keep on a flat surface preferable with the rear elevated at least 3/4 to 1" to provide adequate ventilation.
Secondly, yes these computers do run hot because of the processor speed, GPU, and Retina screen.

Imovie clips freezing with a particular song addition

I got some help fixing some freezing by going into my library & removing an imovie preference file but as soon as I add a song back for the background of a video, the clips all start freezing up again & I have to go back & remove the file from the preferences again. Is there a way to fix the corrupted song or do I need to just bag it & pick a new song (ugh)?

I have 37.92 GB free, how much do you need for this to run?. I recently moved a whole year's worth of video & photos to an external hard drive and once this video was supposed to be finished (like 6 weeks ago...) I was going to burn a DVD and move another year's worth off the hard drive but I'm a little anxious about doing that until I have it on a DVD.
I deleted all the clips that were freezing last night & reimported them from iphoto (which is frustrating b/c that means re-editing too, why can't you edit & save in iphoto so you only have the parts of the clips you want??? this seems a waste of hard drive space as well). They don't seem to be freezing now but I haven't added a song back in again, which I suppose could lead to the whole problem all over.

Helppp! imovie clips location and space.

i've been working on a project for friends of mine for a couple of months now. so far, i've only been importing the film from my camera to my computer. last night, as i was importing footage, a message came up that said i had no space on my startup disk left.
as i was searching my computer for how much space i used up with imovie, i typed in names of my clips. all that came up was the project file.
so, are my clips hidden from me?
are they saved in two places at once?
in other words, are there two copies of one file, and is that why there's no space left on my computer?
and if so, can i delete the other copy to save space?
i know that movies take up a lot of space, but is it really possible that fifty gigs are used already?
i'm really struggling, and i've deleted all that i can.
would using a different program, such as final cut pro, be of any help?

in addition to Matthew's excellent post:
you can ctrl-click on your project's icon, choose "show package", an presto, you find the media folder...
changing any content of the folder can immediately destroy the fragile file management of your iMproject... really, just for the bravehearted and experienced user... it doesn't help to solve your problem...
another "rule":
import wisely, just what you really need
importing a whole tape, edit it down to 2min - even after emptying the trash, your project is still ~13Gb large...
I'm using ~0.7TB of harddrive space, just doing "home movies"...Baby on Trike etc.. video needs SPACE...

IMovie is freezing and not loading project themes

I made a 20 minute movie of my vacation. Several clips where processed to enhance speed of clip but overall minimal processing. I have a 2011 Macbook Pro, with an i7 processor. I shouldn't be having these issues with this computer, does anyone have any solutions. Appreciate the support.

• free space on Start-Up hard disk low
• use of strange material eg .avi, .wmv, .wma etc
Corrupted pref file
• Start a new user account and log into this and have a re-try - if OK then here it is
Free space
• less than 25Gb free space - is not for me - recommendation is to keep 10-15% free all time
File format - I can only tell what I use that works
• Video - streamingDV (from miniDV tape Camera)
• Audio - only .aiff 16-bit 48kHz or from Audio-CD .aiff 44.1kHz (everything converted to this - from iTunes burned as Audio-CD -not used directly)
• Photos - .jpg (.bmp is very problematic to me - intensive red)
