IMovie clips

I think I have change the name of an event, now my project does not recognize it. There is a yellow triangle with an ! in it. Is there a way to find out what the event was named when the clip was taken out of it?

I was afraid of that. Easier to leave the photos where they are then.
I'm dragging just the ones I need into the Timeline in the order I need them for each chapter. There will be multiple chapters in the iMovie Slideshow. For example: Candids, Action, etc.

How do I import imovie clips from my iphone 6 to my mac running yosemite?

My iphone 6 screen is completely smashed leaving me unable to use the touchscreen. I know that you can just send the imovie project to itunes but I can't use my screen to do it. Also, when I go into imovie from my computer and click import and then go to my phone it says there are no clips. Is there a way I can get those imovie clips to my computer through another means? Its very simple, you can download pixelpipe to upload it straight from the phone, or just connect your iphone to your computer (if you have a mac, then go to iphoto, and the video should be there). I'm not sure how you would do it on a pc.

Using Imovie clip files on a pc

I used Imovie to log and capture from dvcam then i copied everything from the clips folder to dvd. the problem is my doesnt recognise the format.
Is there anyway i can use these on my pc?
I intend to use premier pro1.5 and i dont mind re-rendering them to a PC friendly format so any help would be appreicated.

Your iMovie clips are probably in DV Stream format, which is basically raw data straight from the camcorder. Here's some info:

You should probably go back into iMovie and export them properly, either to DVD or to QuickTime. If possible, choose a pretty high bit rate so you don't lose quality.

Can anyone help find lost iMovie clips please?

I've lost several iMovie clips from my iMovie, The Library list on the left on the screen still displays the titles, but when I click on them the window displays the title with "empty" next to it.
I've tried restoring from my Time Machine back-up external disk but the results remain the same.
I've tried looking at my iCloud account and can't see any movies there at all, including in iCloud Drive.
I upgraded to iMovie 10.0.6 and it seems to have happened since then.
Unfortunately the missing movies have been deleted from my camera so I can't reload them.
I have uploaded some movie clips recently and they've worked fine.
Is there any other way I might be able to recover these missing files?

I've now recovered the missing files, however I have a further problem which I'm hoping someone can help with.
I have just recovered some video clips which I had accidentally deleted. For some reason the recovered files couldn't be read by iMovie but when I tried iPhoto they did transfer into that. It took hours though.
Now the movies are there they are showing as "clip" type with a unique number allocated to each clip.
I want to bring them into iMovie so that I can include them with iMovie clips which are already there.
I can't find a way to either send them to iMovie or import them into iMovie from iPhoto.
If I want to use clips from both iMovie and iPhoto am I able to import them so I can compile a movie?

Possible to insert a countdown timer into an iMovie clip?

I'm making an exercise video, and I want to insert an occasional small clip with a countdown timer. Ideally, it would be some beautiful nature footage (like waterfalls or wildlife), with a countdown timer in the corner.
Does anydbody know how to insert a countdown timer into an iMovie clip?
For that matter, does anybody know where I could find/purchase 2 minutes of nature footage?

Sure you can. What you need to do is add the initial image to the topic then create an image map. This allows you to define shapes that when the user's mouse hovers over it indicates that there is a hyperlinkto another topic. Just right click on the image, select Insert Image Map and go from there.

Can I increase the resolution in a jpg created from an imovie clip? I've done the steps to create/extract a "still" from an iMovie clip (which started as a small clip in iphoto). I did the steps of creating the freeze frame, and then doing a "screen shot", but the resolution is only 97 kb, so it won't be good to print. Help!

When making a DVD using iDVD in the past, I used to locate the iMovie clips I wanted to put onto the DVD in a file called Media relating to the relevant iMovie project. It was a hidden file. I can't remember how to locate these hidden files now, can anyone help?

Dragging iMovie Clips into iDVD

I'm creating a iDVD project consisting of a full iMovie and a submenu containing several selected clips from that iMovie. In the submenu I drug several iMovie clips over (from iMovie which was open) and iDVD created a Movie button for each. Problem is that for any of the clips that were originally cropped in iMovie, the uncropped clip version comes across into iDVD and goes from a 16:9 to 4:3 format. When I check in iMovie, the clip is showing up as cropped and in the correct format.
After checking the forums I tried the recommended method of selecting clips individually and exporting thru Quicktime and then importing into iDVD. Doing this the cropped version of the clips come across correctly but I still loose the 16:9 aspect.
Am I missing a setting/option somewhere? Any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks for the suggestion. I dowloaded the QuickTime 7 version but when I attempted to process the clip I was instructed to do a "Save As", but since I do not have the Pro version of QT that's not an option. Any way around that?
What's really strange is that on a previous iMovie/iDVD project I simply dragged the clips and everything worked fine.

I keep on adjusting the duration of the IMOVIE clips , and after I have hit DONE and check the clip, it reverts to the original number and not the new duration requested. Any suggestions???

Error -69 suggests a possible problem with the source files on your computer. Check the source disk for errors and backup if you don't already do so. See HT1210: iTunes displays a -69 error when syncing iPod for more details.
The SyncToy backup program is also a good way to identify exactly which files cannot be read. Repeated runs may succed in copying files which won't copy over on the first attempt.

It may also help to disable any AV software while syncing or set exclusions on the media folder and the iPod's drive.

Assuming you are using iMovie 10 you select your library then right-click - Show Package Contents. You will see a folder for each event. Open the folder of the event you are interested in and you will find a folder "Original Media". This contains the raw clips and stills and you can copy them with the Finder to the SD card. (Don't move or delete anything in the library).

As long as your QT Movies are "self-contained" and you no longer need either the project clips or the target files on your local computer there shouldn't be a problem deleting them.

Thank you very much for the answer, Studio x. I'm using the music which was ready in the Imovie clip. The ready movie clip in the Imovie called ''Road Trip''. It's a blockbuster type music that have in it. I replaced the images with my clients and leaved the music as it is. I couldn't find the autor and the name of it to search. I wonder if this music included in the Imovie clip has additional rights issues or I can use them without additional clearence in a commercial?
