I can go to Share and share to youtube (not sure about others) but I can't do Share -> Export Movie, or it crashes with the following. Just wondering if this is an issue on 10.7.4..., or maybe McAffee.

I have the exact same problem: iMovie crashes when you try to export. I believe it's the software update, not your virus scanner. Everything was fine with me until I downloaded this wonderful "upgrade" that has caused untold problems (as you can gather from these Discussions). I've just given up on it and purchased different video software. Which just works . . .

Program keeps crashing when trying to export video
I'm running off my motherboard GPU while my graphics card is getting repaired (should be here by next week). I wanted to know why Premiere keeps shutting down when I'm trying to export. Is it not supposed to be used without a dedicated graphics card?
I need to get a video project done by tomorrow and this is pretty annoying.there are programs like core temp to find out if the cpu is overheating. prime95 will test your cpu/mbd/ram, but if you really want to test the ram its best to use memtest86.
using the h100 is good to help get the heat generated by the cpu out of the case, but still need to have good ventilation from a few case fans. if that cooler isn't working well enough, or its too much heat for the mbd, you can go into the bios and try to under-clock the cpu so it wont run so hot. if you are using an underpowered or cheap power supply, it wont be able to deliver enough clean power to the system when its under demand. -
Quicktime crashes when trying to export video
I just upgraded to Quicktime Pro 7 (from Quicktime 7.1). Evertime I try to export a video (homemade avi) Quicktime crashes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, but the problem still exists. The video was created with Pinnacle Studio version 9. Can anyone help?
Often, issues such as you describe are caused by the Lr preferences file becoming corrupted. This can lead to something being embedded in the file that the encoder or the viewing application can't habdle. It's therefore worth either trashing or tempoarily relocating the Lr preference file. This page provides info on where the file can be found http://forums.adobe.com/thread/358041?tstart=0

Premiere Pro CC crashes when trying to Export Media
I really hope someone can help me with this.
I bought a brand new Dell XPS 15 because I will be studying multimedia production next year. Next week I'm registering for the art school and I'll be able to buy a CC student license. I installed the Creative Cloud Trial Version because I couldn't wait to check out the new features in Photoshop and Premiere Pro. However after working on a Premiere Pro project for several hours, the program crashed when trying the Export>Media function.
As soon as I hit Export>Media in every project I make in Premiere Pro, the following dialog box pops up: "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project.". I'm not able to export my project, not even by using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+M.
I already tried reinstalling Creative Cloud, without any luck. Any idea what could be causing this? I really need this fixed before school starts, so help is much appreciated.
Here are my system specs:
- Intel Core i7-4712HQ processor
- 16GB DDR3L RAM
- Nvidia GeForce GT750M 2GB
- 500GB SSD
Thanks to everyone willing to take a look at my problem.Hi John,
Thanks for your response. I checked all those links but I'm afraid none of those solves my problem. My GPU drivers are up to date and changing BIOS settings to fixed to disable Nvidia Optimus doesn't work as well.
I checked Windows Event Viewer and the error shows as following:

IDCS3 crashes when trying to Export or PDF
IDCS3 crashes when trying to Export or PDF.
What are the steps I should take to resolve this?
Thanks!figured it out:
- power off mac and turn back on while holding down Command + R (dont do it on an external keyboard just to be safe)
- choose the re-install Lion option (I'm sure there is another way to re-install Lion, this is just the way I did it, not saying its the best or only method)
- DO NOT INSTALL MACBOOK (Mid 2012) Software Update 1.0 - THIS SCREWS ADOBE UP! -
INdesign CS3 suddenly crashes when trying to export pdfs
I have exported PDF-x1as from Indesign for years with no issues. Suddenly today, indesign crashes when I select EXPORT. I have indesign CS3 on a macbook pro running 10.5.8.
I work from home, and have to get some pretty huge projects out to the printer, and so I'm getting nervous about this not workling!! I'm trying to remain calm.
I've restarted indesign with the control, option, and shift keys down, supposedly renewing the prefs. When that didn't work, I reinstalled it from my original disks. Still doing the same thing.
Please say someone knows a fix!!!ok - I've spent countless hours now searching for an answer. I was about to upgrade to snow leopard hoping that would solve this issue, when, buried deep somewhere in these forums, I found the solution that, at least so far, has worked for me! Here it is, in case anyone else is having issues:

Constantly crashes when trying to access folders
my iMac 2008 model just keeps crashing whenever i try to access a folder on my hdd to upload etc
iphoto-crashes when trying to import photo from folder on desktop
safari-crashes when trying to add photos to flickr
safari-crashes when trying to upload photos to facebook
itunes-crashes when trying to add music and photos to library
can anyone help this is driving me madLaunch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if iTunes crashed, you would enter "iTunes" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful. -
Skype crash when trying to enter 'Video Settings'
Hello All,
I've encountered a permanent Skype crash while trying to enter 'Video Settings' with camera plugged in. Without camera, 'Video Settings' panel is working ok
My system is Windows 7 x64, and my camera is A4Tech PK-130MJ
Here is the error report from windows logs:
Faulty application name: Skype.exe, version: 6.20.0.104, timestamp: 0x53fd9215
Faulty module name: nvapi.dll, version: 9.18.13.4052, timestamp 0x53b442e0
Exception code: 0xc000001d
Error offset: 0x001d2c4f
Faulty process ID: 0x15b78
Faulty application start time: 0x01cfd988fe3b2dc2
Faulty application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe
Faulty module path: C:\Windows\system32\nvapi.dll
Report code: e5a55ed5-457c-11e4-b26e-00221535009d
Because error seems to be, in some way, related to the video drivers, here is my graphics settings:
I'm using XFX GeForce 260 GTX with latest available Nvidia drivers (340.52)
I've managed to partially 'solve' this problem by downgrading to Skype version 6.3, but i'm not sure, how long I could use it, before it becomes 'outdated'
So, if anyone have encountered similar issues, please share info, may be there are any other solutions which don't involve downgrading skype
Thanks in advance!
Solved!
Go to Solution.I don't know if this is relevant, but on my Windows 7 64-bit system and NVIDIA 210 graphic card, nvapi.dll is located in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ folder, while in C:\Windows\System32\ there is the 64-bit version of this dll, i.e nvapi64.dll.
Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool (32-bit version).
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.
Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here. -
Hello,

1x 120 GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD
1x 240 GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD (system disk)
Tyan S7050GM4NR motherboard
Windows 7
I freshly installed Windows 7 and the CC-Apps PremierePro, After Effects, Media Encoder, Photoshop and Speedgrade.
When I try to export any video from premiere to the media encoder premiere crashes without any error message. The problem is not the project: I created several new projects and even if I only have one Graphic-File/Bars/h264-video in the timeline that I try to export: premiere crashes. When I export directly from premiere it works, but there is no chance to go via media encoder. The strange thing is that I can export from after effects to the media encoder without any problem...
Second Problem: Encore crashes also. Everytime I try to build a DVD => Encore crashes
Does anybody have an idea?
Here is what I already tried:
Yesterday it worked fine today it crashes when I export from premiere via media encoder.
1. Bars+Tone => export => crash
2. Video Project with 2 short h264-files => export => crash
3. I used Software only renderer => crash

from the log list on the left.
CS 3 InDesign Crashes when trying to Export To PDF
Our File Problem
Dell Microsoft XP service pack 2
Mac Intel Duo, Tiger
CS3 Fully Updated as of 3/17/08
CS2 Fully Updated as of 3/20/08
The problem first arose back when we upgraded to CS3, we found that files inside our document were crashing InDesign CS3 when we went to print or export the document as a pdf, the file originally made an interchange file which we could work with in CS2 so we went back and avoided CS3 until the catalog was finished.
The problem arose again after we started using CS3 again, but not right away. Many documents have been built and exported and printed with no problem. I was able to find and fix the problem through a piece by piece removal process of elimination. I isolated the problem link, opened it in photoshop, made a new psd file and saved the new file with a different name. Problem solved.
The problem became more complicated recently when I created a document, filled it with links, exported the file, changed nothing but copy in the document went to export and the document crashed InDesign. I then started the process of elimination and found that the problem link was different every time, and when placed into another fresh document would export just fine. All of the links were re-created in photoshop and used to create another document. The document was re created on other machines, everything went well until drop shadows were added into the document, then it crashed InDesign and could not be exported to PDF. We then took the same document, with the drop shadows, exported it in Interchange to CS2 and the document exported just fine to PDF.
As a test on the drop shadow issue, we took a number of different files and tested these in CS2 and CS3 with and without drop shadows. Every file we tried in CS2 worked fine with and without a drop shadow. However ,we experienced a number of crashed of InDesign with the drop shadows on these files in CS3. It seems to be just a portion of images, of a certain type of product we carry, but other than that there is no consistency to what is causing the crash. We also tested other effects and had the same results with InDesign CS3 crashing.
The other issue we see with this is that before the 1st of the year, we were able to export the same images in InDesign with the drop shadows and other effects. It seems that since the first of the year, the same images are not longer able to export from CS3 to a PDF. A couple of the possible thoughts we had were that there was an issue with recent updates in CS3, to test this we are going to uninstall CS3 and reinstall without running updates. We also are going to try to recreate the files that crashed InDesign and see if they can crash again on export.
Has anybody else experienced any similar issues? Does anybody know of a way to identify the problem in CS3 or with our files other than through trial and error? This is a major issue and problem for us since we are primarily a catalog based business and cannot have out catalog crash unexpectedly when we spend months working on it.
This problem is also not operating system specific, it is happening on both machines listed aboveDean,
We found that the issue is a bug in the program, and this was the response i Got from an Adobe guy:
Initial Response:
Thank you very much. Weve been able to reproduce the crash. It appears the underlying bug is triggered by having tall narrow PSD images and transparency effects (i.e. drop shadow). Well be working to further understand the root cause, and then working on a fix for a future release/update.
In the interim the best workaround I can come up with is to rotate the canvas in Photoshop 90 degrees so the image is short and wide, and then rotate it -90 degrees in InDesign after placing so you get the vertical orientation you want. The bug is triggered when processing the data as saved by Photoshop, so avoiding the tall and narrow psd should avoid the bug.
Im sorry to not have an easier workaround or immediate fix. Please let me know if you encounter any new crashes. Ill let you know if our further investigation changes our understanding of the root cause of the bug.
Second response:
Well, I have a bit more info. Switching from a tall narrow image size to a short and wide one should avoid the crash for any specific image that crashed when tall and narrow, but unfortunately the root cause of the bug is in code that could potentially be triggered by any image. It appears to be exceptionally rare for other image proportions, but it is still theoretically possible. It just turns out its much more likely for a tall narrow CMYK+Alpha image.
So, as it stands I dont have a 100% guaranteed way to avoid this crash, but it should be much less common for short and wide images. If you do encounter the crash, switching the orientation should avoid the crash. Hopefully the orientation workaround will allow you to be productive with InDesign until a future release contains the fix.
Hope that helps -
Aperture 3.4.3 crashes when trying to export 350GB library
When I got Aperture 2 I was new to Mac and the software itself and I decided to keep all my library with referenced images rather than having a managed library. That gave me some sort of peace of mind. Now, when I know better the software and I am more familiar with Macs I have understood that you can trust Aperture 3.4.3 to manage your library. I do everything in Mac now. Also, I have different folders and photographs scattered in my hard drive so I thought it was time to consolidate my library in my new 3TB thunderbolt hard drive.
Unfortunately, Aperture crashes every time I have tried to export all my projects as a ONE library consolidating masters and so forth.
Any one knowing a solution for this problem? My library is about 350GB which does not seem to be a lot for Aperture to handle.

I am going to drag all files and folders to my new drive and consolidate project by project.
Just a couple of things. It is important to verify _that_ it is crashing. How do you know?
It may be that you have some specific Images that are causing the crash. You might search the forum for one of Léonie's responses to "corrupt image".
My suggestion was to move your Aperture Library (the ".aplibrary" file package in Finder). You shouldn't use Finder to move _any_ other files or Finder folders relating to Aperture. Doing so will almost certainly sever the ties between your Aperture Library and those files. In general, you use Finder to put an Aperture Library wherever you want, but you use Aperture and only Aperture for any file operations on any files that you have imported into a Library.
So either move your Library, and then consolidate, or consolidate, and then move your Library. But under no circumstances move your Referenced Originals with Finder.
Lastly, there is usually no reason to run "File➞Consolidate Originals" Project by Project. You haven't reported any problems consolidating Originals, just exporting. I don't expect that you would have any troubles consolidating Originals that would be helped by doing it in small lots.
HTH.
