IMovie crashes on export to camera

Question

I get this every time when I try to export any project to my camera. It doesn't matter which project. The stuttering, stalling and freezing occurs at different places in each project. I've done all of the troubleshooting steps that I have read about here and still no luck. If I need to post the complete crash log for the latest crash I will, here's the first few lines...

UPDATE:
I installed Tiger on an external firewire drive, then re-booted off that drive. I then installed iLife '05. I then let Software Update get everything up-to-date.
Once that was done I copied an iMovie project from my previous internal boot drive to my newly created external boot drive. I opened the project and tried exporting. It failed just like before. I then thought that maybe since the project was on the external drive and the camera was plugged into the back of my iMac, that I should try opening the project from my internal drive. I did... and it exported flawlessly. I then plugged my camera into the external boot drive, opened the project from the external drive and again, it exported without a problem.
So, what next? Should I just do an archive & install on my internal boot drive or wipe it completely clean? I had previously re-installed iLife '05 which didn't fix the problem. If I wipe it clean what would be the easiest way to get all of my files back?
