I was cleaning up some old files and I think I might have deleted a file from iMovie
as every time I try to upload movies from my camera it says cannot find camera, is there any way to restore the
missing file? thanks in advance....

Imovie doesn't recognise my canon ixus 120
I'm new to imovie, and have just tried to import some 1080i video clips from my canon ixus 120 camera. imovie doesn't recognise the camera when connected via usb so the import window does not come up when the camera is connected.
however, iphoto does recognise it and tries to import the video clips which is impossible as iphoto will not import .avi clips.

I've now managed to import some clips using the Canon import utility, downloaded from the Canon installation cd. Is there a way I can set up imovie to be the default importer of my clips, or will i always have to use canon and then import the clips from the folder into imovie?
I had thought the clips were .avi, but in fact they are .mov

I was exporting one of my iMovie projects, and then iMovie suddenly froze. I restarted my computer but when I opened iMovie my project wasn't there anymore. I don't have time machine is there a way to get my project back? PLEASE HELP
If the system just Restarted on it's own, Shut down while you were working on something then started back up all those changes, edits, you had done in that app, document, are gone.

After I have deleted a file from my iphone, it still shows the song with a download button? Is there a way to get rid of this totally, so it doesn't show at all?
The banner usually indicates that the memo is "Paused." If you go back into voice memos, touch the word "Done" beside the big red pause button, give it a name, then it will show in a list. Touch the memo in the list then touch the trash can icon that should appear.

TV out doesn't recognise ipod dock anymore
I used to be able to play podcasts & videos from my 160gb classic through my panasonic tv stereo system. I tried to do this again & I got the "video out enabled connect cable" message. Having tried the 5r steps the issue remains. I have also tried changing all the video settings (fit to screen, pal/ntsc, video out on/always ask). Still no change.
the panasonic unit isn't the problem as the ipod plays through it exactly as before with the exception of videos.
Judging by the number of posts this is a common problem & I am writing in the vain hope it can be fixed!
Help?What exactly is the symptom you get which is wrong? The message "video out enabled connect cable" simply says that you have turned on the video out on the iPod, but the iPod has not sensed the cable connecting it to the TV. However, you go on to say that everything else plays through the TV as before. Do you mean the music plays through the TV and pictures can be shown on the TV?
You also mention (in the subject field) the iPod Dock. Which Dock are you using and which cable? Has this combination of that particular Dock and that particular cable worked previously? If so, has the cable been damaged?
The Classic will provide TV out through either the Apple Composite AV cable (part number MB129LL) or the Apple Component AV cable (MB128LL) directly to the TV, and these will both work through the Apple Universal Dock but neither of these cables will give TV out through the iPod Universal Dock.
If you have the iPod Universal Dock you can get the TV out by using the S-video cable output.

I have deleted many unwanted files and apps and yet the available space keeps depleting every time i am using my Macbook Pro. I believe under the OS 10.7.4 one of the features is it backups or has backgrounding features which uses memory. Sometimes even when i hv 8GB space after using my Macbook Pro for say 2hrs surfing internet and using Pages which has a "Save Version" feature suddenly my 8GB goes down to 300+MB only and it starts prompting me "My Startup Disk is almost full" once it reaches 1GB space left. How can i get more space.... Please someone can help me? Do i need to re-format my hardisk??!! Any help out there is greatly appreciated.
My original HD is 320GB. And i don't hv too many Apps installed. I do have abt 50-70apps. I do have many photos and videos stored in iPhoto's Library though.One thing I've noticed is that a shared tab pops up when I open the finder under "favorites" with a random connection. It's called hp68b... None of my friends that I live with have this and we all use the same internet. Two days ago when I would click it and click get info, it said it was a pc. When I checked it today it said it is a "sharepoint" and looks like a harddrive.
I took it too the store after i spilt water on it but when I got it back it ran perfectly fine. I don't know a lot about computer so if somebody could help me. It says I'm connected to it and I can't disconnect or delete it. I don't know if the guy at the computer store put something in my computer and is sharing all my files. -

It says"this cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone"Try checking your cable socket/lightning cable for dirt, grime, pocket lint, etc. I could not find the solution to this issue myself and after much searching I found someone stating that cleaning this out helped them immensely.
After taking a wooden toothpick (making sure the phone was OFF first) and gently clearing out the edges and inside of the lightning socket this went away.) It is worth noting that I had a significant amount of dust or lint buildup along the edge rails which I think was causing the iphone to believe it was plugged into something when it was not.
Try it and see, ensure you are very careful and do not use any conductive tools to clean the area in question. Compressed air also does wonders here. -

I have both an Ipad and Ipad2. Niether are syncing on my PC which uses XP Pro. My Iphone 4 is fine. Apple suggested there is a file (which I cant remember the name of) which needs to be added again to my PC as it is either corrupt or lost. Can anyone help please?

Unfortunately I have tried to re-install Itunes and this has not helped. Apple did say that the file which is corrupt is not loaded on by Itunes and needs to be done manually.
Apple are helpful instore, however it was only after asking 8 people in different stores that they came up with this. It would be great is someone who has had a similar problem could let me know.

IE doesn't recognise Sun JVM..
I stuffed up my IE 6.0 installation .... I can't recall what I changed but the browser doesn't recognise my JVM anymore. Applets won't download...... I did all the obvious as explained on the relevant Sun and MS websites, such as:
- reinstalled JVM 1.4.x
- configured browser using via Java, Internet Control Panels (uncheck the MS JVM, etc.)
- flushed temp internet files
- rebooted

I've been looking into this problem for quite a while now and I'm not sure if it is only 1 problem or two.
On some machines Java appears to be disabled. This is fixable by uninstalling and re-installing either the Sun JVM (as robby_h mentions) or by re-installing the MS JVM (which is a little hard to find).
The second problem I have seen is where the Sun JVM still starts as does the Applet, but the database connection we use doesn't work. It appears to be substituting 127.0.0.1 (the local machine) for the Host in the connection string. I'm not sure if this is the only effect but it does cause a major problem for us as some of our clients are unable to use our e-commerce sites and a lot will not be reporting the issue to us.
I have been working on finding a way to solve the problem. It's not pretty but removing Java (both MS JVM and Sun JVM) completely and then re-installing it has worked so far. I've tested it on win 2k and XP home machines.
I am not sure where the problem actually is. I believe that it's something to do with IE which is changed (probably a/some dll files) when Java is installed. This would explain why in some cases installing a different version of the Sun JVM might work as if the dll files are different then they will overwrite the bad dlls and hence solve the problem.
robby_h, have you tried re-installing the latest Sun JVM since you got it working with 1.3?
If it is a problem with a corrupt dll then I have no idea which one it is. Anyone know how to find out?

IMac doesn't recognise keyboard (wireless and usb)

I've seen similar posts, but non had advice that helped. I'm having this problem for a weeks, before the problem everything worked perfectly. My Apple wireless keyboard start to act strange. I couldn't type some letters, so i put new batteries and still the same problem. When I type for example letter S it appears on screen as DS, the light on the shift key doesn't turn off when pressed. I have also tried to unpair it but now i can't even pair it with the computer any more.
I have bought A4tech KD-126 keyboard which was recognisable by the computer till first time i unplug it. After i tried to plug it in all usb ports, led lights on the keyboard are working but computer doesn't recognise it as a keyboard.
So I have tested other keyboard which my husband is using (A4tech KB-28G) and this only keyboard that works for now.
I want to make A4tech KD-126 keyboard working at least.
Please Help!!Reset the NVRAM/PRAM and Reset the SMC, then try the wired keyboard again.

How come iPhoto doesn't recognize my iPhone anymore?

I just installed windows 7 because my computer was infected by a virus. Before i had windows vista. Now when i try to connect my ipod with the latest version of itunes, itunes doesn't recognise it anymore.
Windows recognises the ipod touch only as a digitalcamera.

I have an old airport express base station from 2005
I would like to have a network on it so i can put it upstairs in a room and connect my speakers to it so i can send my music (from itunes) over the airport to my speakers.
I reset it and now i want to configure but the Airport utility doesn't recognise it anymore.
Can i update the firmware? has it become useless because too old or what can i do?

JPlease locate the model number on the side of the AirPort Express. Hard to see.....gray lettering on a white background....so you may likely need a magnifying glass and good lighting to see it.
The model number starts with a "A" followed by four numbers. If you see A1084 or A1088, unfortunately AirPort Utility 6.x in Mavericks OS X (10.9.4) does not support these older models. However, you can still administer these models if you have a Mac.....or can borrow one for a few minutes....using Leopard (10.5.x) or Snow Leopard (10.6.x), or a PC with AirPort Utility installed on the device.
