IMovie doesn't seem to recognize my camcorder (Panasonic Mini-DV). HELP!

Tried connecting with the IEEE 1394 cable. "Help" says that the import screen should pop up. Nothing happens. When I clip "import video" button, the only camera recognized is the iSight camera. Any suggestions!! Need to get this video imported and a DVD made for Xmas!!!

I did not see yours; however, as long as it has firewire, it should work. Did you read the instructions in both your camcorder manual and in iMovie on the steps needed?
If you can't get it to work after following the steps, what format does it record in? Is it on a memory card? If so, it'd be easy: just use a USB card reader, plug it in and import your footage that way.

The camera is a Panasonic Lumix. I don't have a USB card reader. I did try and different port although not a different cable.
I did remember one additional thing. I plugged my camera in at work to a PC. It was after that, when I came home, that the iPhoto wasn't working when I connected my camera to our iMac/iPhoto at home. I think this may have caused the problem.

The easiest and cheapest way is to use HandBrake to convert your DVDs to H.264 that FCP X can use.
Download Handbrake free here http://handbrake.fr/downloads.php
Put your DVD in the Mac, launch HandBrake and let it rip your DVD to H.264
You can then import the files into FCP X.
Professional editors will be apoplectic about me recommending HandBrake but for what you are doing the quality will be fine.

Hi there everyone. I'm trying to mix in 5.1 surround sound. I started a project and set it to 5.1, and I can edit everything just fine. The problem is that I can't monitor my results, because Audition doesn't seem to recognize that I have a 5.1 system (Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Digital) hooked up via 6-channel direct. It's not recognizing more than two channels. Does anyone know what's going on?

I think you're correct, although I can understand entirely why ryclark said what he did - there are at least two reasons! Since the wireless works, it seems like an Apple issue. I've noticed when I'm at friends' houses (whoi have Apple TV) sometimes only the two icons also show up? Anyopne have any ideas?

HI, I have a Canon Pixma MG5250 printer and it doesn't seem to recognize iPhoto. All my photos are in iPhoto but I can't access them when the printer's 'photo print' box comes up. Any suggestions? thanks

I now have a Canon Pixma Printer MG 5250 and it doesn't seem to recognize iPhoto, where all my folders of photos are in the computer.
All other aspects of the printer such as scanning and printing documents are working. When I open the printer's
'photo print' box on my Mac, it cannot access iPhoto.
I would really appreciate any feedback and suggestions as to what to do.

If you want to print a photo that's in your library you should do so from iPhoto. Select the photo, crop to the size you want to print and type Command+P to start the print process. In the Print window select the paper size and print size, printer and then click on the Print button.

My iPod Nano 6th generation doesn't seem to recognize album artwork. I've downloaded the artwork manually, and I've even restored my iPod to defaults several times, but nothing works. Does anyone have a solution?

My iPod Nano 6th Generation is not picking up album artwork. On several of my tracks, it recognizes the album art, but it doesn't seem to recognize the others. I've tried uploading the artwork onto several albums manually, I've cleared the downloaded artwork to download them again, I've even restored the iPod to its default settings...nothing seems to work.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on anoterh computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Applications you download from the Mac App Store store any extra content within the application package itself.
To see if you have the content, right-click, or control-click the Motion 5 icon, and choose "Show Package Contents" - in the new window that appears, open the Contents folder. If you have downloaded the extra content you'll see a folder named Library Content, which should be around 1 GB in size.

haha, so now i'm thinking. I'm learning the terminal as fast as i can but there are several lines of codes and commands in there that throws up red flags to me that i don't fully understand. Try using RecBoot to kick it out of recovery mode. If that does not work, try a manual install, as outlined in link below. If it STILL keeps entering recovery mode, you most likely need a new logic board.
