Imovie failed to import media only audio files are supported

Hi
I get the above message when trying to open video that has been downloaded using WD 2go.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Dunk

OK, I fixed it. Here is how:
I used the "relink files" dialog - it was challenge sorting out which files were already copied to the library and which were stranded on the SD card, because with the media connected FCP was giving me no indication (i.e. camera symbol on the thumbnail), and there is no "sort by... location" in the bin. So anyway, I disconnected media, selected all the red-icon clips, then reconnected media, then did the "relink files" dialog, and right now it looks like all of the "missing" files have been copied over to the Library.
Now the question for me becomes:
Why did this happen? How can I adjust my practice so as to avoid repeating this problem?
Not such a bad glitch this time - I only lost 2.5 hours trying to fix the problem, and now I can get back to work.
sigh.

  • Failing to import my own audio files (not copy protected files)

I'm having trouble getting external audio files to import properly into GarageBand, most specifically MP3 files. These aren't copy protected audio files, these are files I've created myself in other programs and unprotected MP3 sound effects clips downloaded from various web sites.
Here's what happens, I open GB and create a new project. I find the audio file that I want to start with, an MP3 file that plays just fine in QuickTime and iTunes. I drag the audio file into GB to create a new track. GB begins a conversion/import process or whatever it does to be able to edit an MP3 file. I see the progress bar filling up as it does this. When it is complete a new track is created with the MP3 file's name, however the track itself is empty. I don't see any content and there is no audio when I hit play. I don't get any sort of error message either.
I've tried playing with the MP3 file settings, changing them to mono, adjusting bit rates, compression, etc. but every time I try to import into GB this same process happens with no results. These audio files I'm creating play in all my other audio playing apps, so I'm confused as to what could be wrong.
Can someone tell me how I can get GB to import these files properly? Thanks in advance!

  • Audio files are missing in iMovie HD 6

I have 10.5 installed and was using iMovie 08. I was having problems exporting a movie, some of the clips were all black. So I downloaded iMovie 06 and all the iLife audio files are missing.
They're still there in '08 but not '06. How do I get them in? Is there a way to import them?

I have never used Screenium nor do I know anything about it, but iMovie 6 prefers footage in .dv format. You may have more success if you use Streamclip to convert the .mov to .dv before importing it into iMovie 6

  • Importing MPEG-4 audio files into itunes

    Hi,
I am a new user of iTunes. I am unable to import MPEG-4 audio files from an audio CD into my iTunes library. This audio CD was created by a friend on his MAC.
Interestingly, I am able to play the same MPEG-4 files through my Windows Media Player. I have the most recent and updated versions of Quicktime (7.4.5) and the most updated iTunes player for Windows (7.6.2.9). Coincidentally, the same audio CD has some MP3 files which I am able to import into iTunes with no problem.
    Would greatly appreciate any help.
    Thanks

Incidentally, I am able to play these same MPEG-4 files through my QuickTime player just fine.
    Thanks.

  • Imported audio files are repeating same audio on objects in a slide

    Hi
I can't find anything here that mentions the problem I am having.
I am using Captivate 4. And Neospeechs desktop VoiceText program to record audio files outside of Captivate. They are saved as WAV files, then I import the audio into Captivate.
I have various objects on a slide. For example, I have six text Rollover Captions. When you roll over them, some text is displayed. I have attached my audio files to these rollover objects. So, I would have audio1.wav, audio2.wav, audio3.wav etc and these play when you roll over the captions.
The issue I am having, is that when I Publish or Preview the project, sometimes the wrong audio file is playing upon rollover. Usually the first couple of caption/file combinations will work, so I get audio1.wav for caption1 and audio2.wav for caption2, but then say for captions 3,4,5,6 I am still getting audio1.wav playing!
I have doubled checked everything and the correct audio files are attached to the captions. And they all play correctly in Edit view.
I've just noticed this has happened again in a different Captivate 4 project, where I have about 6 lines of Text Animation, with an audio file for each text animation. They have been distributed across the timeline so that the text animations do not overlap, and yet I am still hearing imported audio files repeated.
If anyone can help to shed any light on this, i'd be grateful, as I'm totally stumped!
    thanks
    Lolly

  • Importing existing only WAR file in NWDS for deployment on WAS

    Hi,
I have WAR file created on the eclispe platform by someone. I am required to import that into NWDS and embed into EAR and then deploy on WAS.
However, i found no direct way to import existing only WAR file into NWDS. Simply importing a file in the web module project will only copy the contents, without that getting extracted.
Kindly let me know in detail, how to acheive the same.
    Regards,
    Apeksha

    Hi,
don't worry. It will work. If done this with a Web Application I received from a vendor. Normally it is deployed on Tomcat but we had to integrate the functionality into SAP Portal / SAP Web AS.
So I just created an empty Web Module Project and the Enterprise Project, linked them and built the EAR.
I just replaced the empty WAR in the generated EAR with the WAR I received from my Vendor and deployed it on SAP J2EE using Visual Admin.
In general you should be able to deploy every WAR on every APP Server with a servlet engine that conforms the SUN J2EE Specifications (SAP J2EE does)!
Does this mean that Web module project is never executed, since that WAR added in the EAR is only getting executed?
I don't really understand this question? The result of your Web Module Built is the WAR file. By linking it to your EAR you just achieve that the WAR File is put into EAR when you build the EAR. Since your Web Module Project has the same name as your WAR File (I hope it does) you just pretend that the WAR File you are putting in the EAR replacing the empty one was the one that was built within NWDS.
The Web Module is the one that is being executed after deployment. It contains all the Code. The Enterprise App is just a wrapper around it. I don't know why it is not possible to directly deploy a WAR File to J2EE.
It could be that you get some problems with Libraries in your Web App that also exist on J2EE (e.g. Java Mail)
I had the problem with Java Mail. The Version in WebApp was newer than the one used in J2EE so some functionality did not work at the beginning. Since there seems to be no way to tell the J2EE Classloader to load the Child Libraries first instead of parent I had to replace the mail.jar in SAP J2EE with my own one.
You will probably not even face such a problem so just ignore it for now!!
Unpack the WAR to some folder in your local filesystem using a ZIP Program. Then open your File Browser (e.g. Windows Explorer if you are on Windows) and put your NWDS besides it. Then just drag and drop the files from your File Explorer to NWDS using the Resource Perspective (as described above)
It is some manual work but there is no other way around this if you want to build your Web App in NWDS in order to avoid exchanging the WAR in your EAR everytime you deploy it!
If you have further questions let me know
    Cheers

  • What video files are supported by iMovie 10.0.6?  I have to somehow convert .rcproject files to something that iMovie will accept but I don't know what kind of format to change to.

What video files are supported by iMovie 10.0.6?  What is the best way to allow iMovie 10.0.6 accept my .rcproject movies?

    Hey Sioux Falls,
If you are looking for information on converting or updating older iMovie projects to iMovie 10, you may find the following article helpful:
Update projects and events from previous versions of iMovie in iMovie (2014) - Apple Support
Note: To clarify, a .rcproject file generally only contains links and references to movie clips and effects that would be part of an iMovie project; it usually does not contain any actual video.

  • What audio formats are supported by iMove 11?

Does iMove '11 work with 48k 24bit audio files? What are the best type to use?

    notlost wrote:
Thank you! I was hoping to bring in 24 bit but knew might be iffy.
you can drag'n drop all kind of stuff into iMovie (mp3, ogg. wma, aac) - the underlying Quicktme engine will do its best to convert the data into something useful. in most cases, it works, in many not.
esp. when the sampling frequency isn't 'video friendly' (=not 48kHuz or its even divisors) people notice frequently synch problems.
    Bengt mentioned best practice: aiff/48kHz
24bit is nice, but the delivery codecs, iMovie supports, don't list it.
keep in mind: iM is a 15$ consumer toy tool.
24bit is something from professional studios.-
and again - aside theatrical audio delivery as THX, 24bit is no 'video format'.-

  • Issue where audio files are causing buffering in Adobe Presenter 9.0.2

I have a module that I have published that the audio files are causing the playback to buffer at the end of the slides. I have unchecked Disable preloading of embedded Flash content, since I have seen that suggestion previously causing issues. I do not have videos in this module. It did this when I did a preview of my PowerPoint presentation. Thinking publishing could give me a possible different outcome once it was on the Connect server. However, the same issue occurs. I have tried copying the slides and placing them into a new presentation but that did not work as well, I had the same issue. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I am at a holding point since I cannot make the course live if I know this is an issue on playback.

    Hi kornieme,
Please package the published content using package option in presenter and put it in some drop box and send me the link..
    Thanks

  • Recorded audio files are gone after power outage during a concert

    Hello together,
yesterday I used Logic Pro X to record a concert at our school. I had connected my MacBook Air to our mixer via FireWire, and everything went fine until two minutes before the concert's ending, the power went out. My MacBook was still working from battery, however, Logic Pro stopped recording and all recorded files except for one audio file are gone. I have already tried to recover the lost data by using a data recovery app, but it didn't find anything.
Is there a way to recover the lost recordings? I mean, Logic must have written its audio files to the hard drive somewhere and even when everything crashed, I don't think the files got overwritten with zeros or something else that could have destroyed it...
    Many Regards,
    Leo Bernard

  • Audio files are there, but there is no sound.  Final Cut v1.0.1

I have been working on a project in Final cut express v1.0.1 for a few days. At first, there were no problems with audio, then I tried to open the file on a friends machine using final cut 2 (my final cut program and scratch disc are on an external drive). I was prompted to update my project so it would be FC2 compatible and I chose not to. We were not able to view the project on my friend's machine. When I try to play the project now, there is no sound even though all audio files are in place.
It might be worthwhile to note that before trying to view the project on my friend's machine I created a "final cut movie file" which will play with audio on either machine in Quicktime but not in Final cut.
Any help or advice about what I should do to fix this would be much apreciated, Thanks.

Thank you for the response but unfortunately it did not resolve my problem, View>Video is set to real time and not firewire (the options are greyed out and cant be selected but there is a check by "Real Time" regardless)
Still unable to get sound, thanks for the attempt.
