IMovie files from Mac to iPad

Spent a lot of time trying to find a way to move iPhoto slide shows and iMovie productions to iPad 2.  Found nothing on the web but a lot of entries leading to the same flaky software site.  Have a three year old iMac, 2.4 GHz with OS 10.6.7.  By accident found that a  slide show produced in iPhoto and sent to iDVD appeared in iTunes when I selected the "movies" option.  I dragged this icon to the icon of my tethered iPad (32 Mbyte 3G).  It played fine.
Next I opened a project in iMovie, went to SHARE and selected iTunes.  I next selected iPad as the preferred device and waited 15 minutes for my 20 minute video to show in the "Movies" option of iTunes.  Again I dragged the movie title from iTunes to the icon of my tethered iPad.  It copied quickly.  I closed the iPad icon on the iMac, opened my iPad, went to movies, found the title I had just copied, and played.
I was very pleased with the result since materials for the movie came from digitized Super 8 film footage.

well to be 100% technical, no you didn't but that aside, it good to know there are ways for people to transfer music into the default apps without iTunes, if they have a need.
I tend to use 3rd party apps for documents, like your mentioned iExplorer etc, which are handy.
I see from a search the two "apps" you mentioned are not iOS apps, which I had assumed, SyncPod and FreeSync are apps for your computer, that would explain their access to the default Music/Video apps.
I had wondered how Apple had allowed iOS apps in the store that could get around the sandboxing in iOS of apps.

  • How do i copy The iMovie video from Mac, to iPad mini?

How do i copy The iMovie video from Mac, to iPad mini?

The easiest way is to firstly export the movie to iTunes (Share > iTunes), then sync the iPad Mini with iTunes. In iTunes, include your movie as an item to be synced. After syncing, on the iPad it will appear in the Videos app. That's how I do it for my wife's Mini.
If you need help with exporting or with syncing to iTunes, please post back.
I'm caught up with something else at the moment, otherwise I'd give you full instructions now (just wanted to get this to you quickly).

  • Transfer pdf file from mac to ipad

How to transfer pdf file from mac to ipad without using the internet and with the help of the cable?

You say without using the internet, then the only way left is to use a USB connection to itunes on your computer.
If you have a pdf reader app on the ipad (you must if you hope to read pdf files on the ipad), then go into the Apps tab in iTunes (for your device)  and find the pdf reader app in the list.  If there, then drag a pdf file from the mac to the panel in iTunes and then sync.  Once on the ipad, you should be able to open the pdf reader app and access the pdf file.

  • How do you transfer Pages files from Mac to ipad?

How do you transfer Pages documents from Mac to Ipad?

If you have iOS 5 on the iPad and enabled iCloud in Pages, you can go on your Mac and go to http://icloud.com, then click iWork, then click the gear icon and upload the document. It should appear on your iPad.
If you have an older OS on the iPad, you will need to plug in to the Mac and launch iTunes. Click on the iPad under DEVICES. Then click on the Apps tab up top. Scroll down until you see a File Sharing section. Click on Pages, then click on the "Add" button.

  • How do I get files from mac to ipad

Just brought IPAD Mini and can't get my documents to sync over. Have Microsoft Office 2011 for MAC.

You can copy word, excel, and powerpoint documents to the iPad, but first you need one or more apps on the iPad that support those document types - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app.
The options include Apple's Pages app for Word documents, Numbers for Excel spreadsheets and Keynote for Powerpoint. And from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD.
As to how you then get the file to your chosen app will depend upon what the app supports - different apps will have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via your wifi network , email, dropbox etc.

  • Transfer iMovie Project from Mac to iPad

Hoping someone could help me. I created an iMovie project on my friends Mac and want to transfer it to my iPad, however my iPad is linked to my personal make and iTunes account at home, so I was wondering if there was a way to load 'just' the 'one' iMovie Project I created on my friends Mac without having to do any sort of syncing (since my iPad is tied to my own Mac/iTunes at home)? Thank you

  • How to transfer a garageband file from Mac to iPad?

Recorded some tracks on Garageband on the Mac; and want to transfer the file to my iOS device.
Tried emailing a .band file and an .mp3 ; but neither would open up in Garageband on the iPad.
Even put the file onto iTunes on the mac and synced to itunes on the iPad; but still can't figure out how to even open an mp3 file ; nevermind a band file on iOS Garageband
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks;-)

Recorded some tracks on Garageband on the Mac; and want to transfer the file to my iOS device.
You can only sync GarageBand projects from your mac to the iPad that originally have been created on your iPad. Creating a project on the iPad, then sending it to a mac, opening it on the Mac, doing some edits (but nothing that is not supported on the iPad), then upload it again to the iPad will work. But sendind a Mac-created GarageBand project to the iPad is not possible. The applications are just too different.
You can open your mp3 in GarageBand on the iPad, however.  Sync it to the iPad using iTunes, so you see it in the Music.app on your iPad. All songs there can be accessed from the Loop Browser on the iPad, see: Import a song from the Music app
To sync projects between iPad and Mac use iTunes.
To send a song from the iPad to your mac as a project, share the song to iTunes > GarageBand.
Sync your iPad with your computer.
In iTunes, the exported song appears in the Documents list in the File Sharing area when GarageBand is selected.
To send the project back to the iPad, add it to garageBand's Documents list in iTunes.

  • How do i transfer numbers files from mac to ipad

I'm trying to transfer a small Numbers spreadsheet from my Mac Mini to my iPad 2 and haven't been able to figure out how to do it.  Ideally, I'd like to be able to sync this spreadsheet between the two systems.  Thanks in advance for any insight.

Never mind.  I figured it out.

  • Transfer garageband files from mac to ipad

Aynone know how to to do this

There are hacks available on the internet that allows you to actually open a GarageBand11 Project on your iOS device.
First of all, it is a really tedious process and second, it doesn't make much sense if the used instruments and plugins are not available on the iOS version. If you just want to get the MIDI data accross and don't run into compatibility issues - you can try it.
    Hope that helps

  • How to transfer files like music from mac to ipad? tried it using mac but what happen was opposite!

how to transfer files like music from mac to ipad? tried it few times but what happen was the opposite.

If you want to sync your iTunes library on your Mac to your iPad ....
Connect your iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes. Click on your iPad's name on the left side under the devices heading. Then click on the Music tab - and select the music that you want to transfer. Does your iTunes window look like this - with Sync Music checked and the playlists or albums checked as well like in the photo below?
When you click on the apps tab do you have Sync Apps checked and all of the apps in the window below checked to sync as well?
If you select all of the items under the different tabs in iTunes - music, apps, photos. etc. - when you sync - all of the selected content should sync over to the iPad.

  • Transfer iMovie files from a Configured Device?

How can I transfer iMovie porjects from a configured ipad to iTunes or other place on a MacBook?

With Supervised devices you are restricted to uploading video files to the supervising Mac.
You can use dropbox on any  iPad.  Not the best, since movies are large.

I guess you could transfer overnight.

  • Is there any way to constantly update files from pc to ipad (Over WiFi)?

I use my iPad as a reader. i.e. I work on documents on my PC, then transfer them to my iPad and use those documents for quick reference on the go. Now, the problem is that I have to keep updating/modify the documents on PC. So every time I have to delete the older documents from my iPad and copy the newer ones. Now that's so time consuming.
A one way (PC to iPad) sync is what I need. I know that this can be done with by lot of apps (dropbox, sugarsync, etc.), however they need internet connectivity. I want to transfer/sync over my home network. On android there are lot of apps to do this while I am yet to find a decent one for the iPad. Can anyone please suggest me one or a workaround?

Look at goodreader or DocsToGo.  It will sync files from any file servers.  Set up a file server on your machine. ie.  share a folder from your machine.  Read below  for more details.
Don't you have the internet at home?  So what's the problem with dropbox etc?
    How are you copying now?

Thanks to Texas Mac Man for pointing to this link.
"Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite and Documents To Go These two apps share an important feature: unlike Numbers, they can open, edit, and save an Excel spreadsheet without stripping out any data or formatting, even though they can’t display or edit all the existing information; spreadsheets can make the round trip from Mac to iPad and back safely, without losing anything."
