Imovie freezes when i scroll over a project

I've been trying to create a project, and everything goes well until I scroll over my other projects in the iMovie library. I think the problem may be one of the projects, because as soon as it is visible on the computer screen, iMovie freezes and I need to force quit it. I have tried to access the projects through finder, but nothing comes up when I try. Help?

    Hi,
Under Tools ... Options ... Workspace, there is an option "Display Object Name Tool Tips While Pointing".
    Try clearing that.

  • How do I make the hyperlink underlined when I scroll over it?

    Hello!
I'm having trouble with my hyperlinks changing color when I scroll over them so I decided to underline them instead. Can anyone tell me how to do that?
    Thanks!

Never mind, I figured it out. It's the underlined "U" next to the color in the inspector, duh!

  • Safari still freezes when accessability voice over is on and blue tooth keyboard still doesnt work when accessability voice over is on, Help

    Hi Apple,
iphone 5s latest updates , safari still freezes when accessability voice over is on and blue tooth keyboard still doesnt work when accessability voice over is on, Help

    Hi,
If you are absolutely sure that neither the sound output of the Macbook nor the sound output of VoiceOver are muted then try to reset VoiceOver.
    1. Open VoiceOver Preferences.
    2. From the File menu choose "Reset All VoiceOver Preferences …".
    3. Click "Reset.
    4. Turn VoiceOver Off and On again. (hold command and press F5 twice).
If you still don't hear anything then it could be that the main sound output of the Macbook got muted somehow. I find that I often hit the mute button on my Apple wireless keyboard without noticing. So just make sure that its not muted and also hit the "Volume Up" a few times. Its so terribly obvious I know but its also very easy to miss. Lots of people do that.

  • RoboHelp10 freezes when open or create a project

RoboHelp10 freezes when open or create a project.  I have been working around this, but can no longer do that.
I need to rename one topic within a project and cannot do that because of it freezing.
I uninstalled and re-installed RoboHelp 10 this morning and it didn't make any difference.
I'm using RoboHelp HTML on a Windows 7 OS.
    Thanks,
    Diane

It is local.  No source control involved.
I was trying to create a project. RoboHelp also freezes when I use the
"Open" folder on the RoboHelp startup page or File > Open.  It does not
freeze if I open a project by clicking on one of the recent projects that I
have used on the startup page.
    Thanks for your help.

  • What are the boxes that appear when I scroll over them at the top and bottom of a Pages document, and how do I get rid of them?

While types a blank document on pages, there are "invisible" boxes at the top and bottom of each page, and they only appear when I scroll over them. Does anyone know what these boxes are, and how i can get rid of them from my paper?

Those are the Header and Footer spaces. You remove them using the Document Inspector. Uncheck the "Headers" and "Footers" checkboxes shown checked here:

  • When I scroll over content there seems to be "pop-ups" that come about. Why is this happening with FireFox and not I. E. ? How do I fix the problem?

I'm using Firefox as my browser, the web content has content that is double underlined and when I scroll over it it pops an image up or some other sign up stuff. How do I prevent this from happening?

Most likely caused by one of your extensions. If the above doesn't get rid of it, check here next:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category
Bear in mind that's it's probably not clearly labeled "annoying advertising" but may have an unrelated or innocent-sounding name. Disable everything that you do not use daily; if in doubt disable. Then use one of the links that appears above a disabled extension to restart Firefox and see whether that helps.

  • IMovie freezes when loading and won't load projects.

iMovie, when clicked from the applications menu, opens up but does not show any of the projects in the project library. It shows there are six projects, but does not show them. I can see all of the events and event files, but none of the projects. Whenever I run other applications on my MacBook Pro, or do not use it for about 45 mins to an hour, the projects eventually load. However, when I go to click on the project I want to open, the pinwheel shows and it appears to be loading, but takes almost another 45 mins to an hour for it to open the specified project. Once I've finally gotten the project open, I can see all of my pictures and videos in the project, but when i hover over them the preview screen is black. I am working on a very important video and need this problem solved ASAP.
    Thanks,
    Caitlyn

    Try this:
    Quit iMovie completely
Go to the desktop and look for the Go Menu, hold down the Option key and click on the Go Menu.
Choose Library > Preferences > look for the following file: com.apple.iMovieApp.plist
    Drag com.apple.iMovieApp.plist to the trash
Now look for com.apple.iApps.plist and also drag it to the trash
    Next try this:
    Quit iMovie completely
Go to Mac HD > Users > (your home folder) > Movies > iMovie Projects > look for all your project folders
Move 1 project folder to the Desktop
Launch iMovie and see how it reacts (does it start faster?) Quit iMovie.
Move 1 project folder tot he Desktop, etc.
Keep moving project folders until there are no project folders left in the iMovie Projects folder.
If iMovie still reacts the same as before with the spinning color wheel also try delete the .plist files one more time, and reboot your Macintosh. With no projects in the Projects folder iMovie should launch very quickly, and so you should try moving project folders back into the iMovie Projects folder one at a time until you can figure out which project is causing the bad behavior.

  • In the iDVD window, there is a box in the lower left corner.  When I scroll over it, I get the message to hide or show the intro movie.  Checking or unchecking the box seems to do nothing.  Can anyone explain?

Working with iDVD on a project, there is a box in the lower left corner and sometimes another in the lower right corner.  Scrolling over the one in the lower left corner, I get a message indicating that this box hides or shows the intro movie.  I have checked and unchecked the box, but see nothing different in the project.  Nor can I figure out what is meant by "intro movie."  Can anyone explain?

Go to iDVD Help and type in Intro Movie, and you will get the full version of this:
Many iDVD themes have “motion menus” that include animations or video that loop, or play repeatedly, until the viewer clicks a menu button. Themes with motion menus have a motion icon in the lower-right corner.
In addition to background video, iDVD motion menus may also feature an intro, or short animation, that plays once before the part that loops. Other motion menus also include an “outro” that plays after the viewer clicks a button, serving as a transition between the menu and the selected content.
An example of an iDVD 6.0 theme with an intro and an outro is Reflection White Main. In this theme, the first drop zones appear in the intro, and the buttons and title appear just before the looping part of the background video. In the outro, everything flies offscreen after the viewer clicks a button.
iDVD provides tools for viewing these motion menus without going into preview mode, which is especially helpful when you are filling drop zones, and for turning the intro or outro off.
Here are ways to view and edit the background movie:
    ◼
Drag the diamond-shaped motion playhead along the scrubber bar (shown below), to view the background movie, stopping wherever you like.
(If you don’t see the motion playhead in iDVD, choose View > Show Motion Playhead.)
    ◼
Deselect the checkboxes at the left and right end of the scrubber bar if you don’t want to use the intro or outro, respectively, in your DVD menu.
The scrubber bar shows the intro and outro as shaded areas at the beginning and end.
You can also control the intro and outro from the Menu Info window. With your pointer over the menu (and with no buttons or text objects selected), press Command-I to open that window. Select or deselect the Intro and Outro checkboxes in the Background section of the window.
NOTE: If you drag your own movie to a motion menu background, the outro is automatically removed. To customize the background and keep the outro, use a still image in the menu background instead of a movie.

  • CP5 Freezing when editing video over multiple slides

Captivate continuously freezes when I'm working with a video that I've spread over multiple slides.
This is a Windows 7 computer.  I've cleared my cache incase that had something to do with that.
    Any help would be apreciated.

    Which version?
Some ideas: background music for the file, to stop on slides 1-2 and 21-23.
VO as slide auido on slides where wanted.
For slide 2: object audio which can play parallel with the VO (see http://blog.lilybiri.com/audio-objects-control-them)
For slide 21-23: object audio with object displayed for the rest of the project, and hidden on entering slide 24

  • IMovie freezing when importing videos

Hi I every time I open iMovie 11 (on Macbook Pro) I get a message, 'movie file can not be found' .I have tried searching for the movie, but when I find the movie, it does not let me click on it. When I cancel the search, iMovie freezes and then I have to force quitAny help would be much appreciated.

    Hi
When iMovie doesn't work as intended this can be due to a lot of reasons
    • iMovie Pref files got corrupted - trash it/they and iMovie makes new and error free one's
    • Creating a new User-Account and log into this - forces iMovie to create all pref. files new and error free
    • Event or Project got corrupted - try to make a copy and repair
    • a Codec is used that doesn't work
    • problem in iMovie Cache folder - trash Cache.mov and Cache.plist
    • version miss match of QuickTime Player / iMovie / iDVD
    • preferences are wrong - Repair Preferences
    • other hard disk problem - Repair Hard Disk (Disk Util tool - but start Mac from ext HD or DVD)
    • External hard disks - MUST BE - Mac OS Extended (hfs) formatted to work with Video
( UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - works for most other things - but not for Video )
    • USB-flash-memories do not work
    • Net-work connected hard disks - do not work
    • iPhoto Library got problems - let iPhoto select another one or repair it. Re-build this first then try to re-start iMovie.
    This You do by
    _ close iPhoto
    _ on start up of iPhoto - Keep {cmd and alt-keys down}
_ now select all five options presented
_ WAIT a long long time
    • free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk to low (<1Gb) - I never go under 25Gb free space for SD-Video (4-5 times more for HD)
    • external devices interferes - turn off Mac - disconnect all of them and - Start up again and re-try
    • GarageBand fix - start GB - play a few notes - Close it again and now try iMovie
    • Screen must be set to million-colors
    • Third-party plug-ins doesn't work OK
    • Run "Cache Out X", clear out all caches and restarts the Mac
    • Let Your Mac be turned on during one night. At about midnight there is a set of maintenance programs that runs and tidying up. This might help
    • Turn off Your Mac - and disconnect Mains - for about 20-30 minutes - at least this resets the FireWire port.
    • In QuickTime - DivX, 3ivx codec, Flip4Mac, Perian etc - might be problematic - temporarily move them out and re-try
(I deleted the file "3ivxVideoCodec.component" located in Mac HD/Library/Quicktime and this resolved my issue.)
    buenrodri wrote
I solved the problem by removing the file: 3ivxVideoCodec.component. after that, up-dated iMovie runs ok.
Last resort: Trash all of iMovie and re-install it

  • I don't like when I scroll over a link on a webpage and the hyperlink shows up on the bottom right in white box... it is extremely annoying. I want to know how to turn it off if possible, otherwise I'm going to have to use another browser. Thank you.

I don't recall this feature on any other version of firefox. For some reason, I can't stop focusing on the fact that every time I scroll over something on a webpage, an annoying white box pops up in the corner of the website displaying the hyperlink, or showing the fact that the link or whatever is loading... it's unnecessary and to me it appears as clutter, especially when I'm browsing a website that has a colored backdrop because then the annoying box pops out even more. I want to turn it off somehow or get rid of firefox.

To toggle the add-on bar on/off use Ctrl+/ or hide the add-ons bar through the View > Toolbars menus
Th add-ons bar replaces the status bar, so if you miss the status-bar working as before see item #10 in
You can make Firefox 4.0.1 and '''Firefox 5.0''' look like Firefox 3.6.17, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6)]

  • Playhead info for imported video clips is static/constant in iMovie 9 as I scroll over the clips. Is it possible to make it display correct info?

HI, I have been importing videos clips from a SD card to iMovie 09. These clips are analyzed for animal behavior and the timing information for a specific event is critical for proper analyses. Most of the times, the imported clips display correct timing information for a given frame as I scroll over the clips. However, sometimes, some clips show a static or constant timestamp for all the frames in a clip and the timing information doesn't change in the playhead as I scroll over different frames.
For such clips, I was wondering if it's possible to display correct timing information for the frames, and how? Since I only need frame timing info relative to the starting point, I am open to a solution that involves readjusting starting timestamp.
Thank you so much for your time and help.

    Several ways to do this.
I would scrub to the in point of the audio you want to change, then drag all the way back to the beginning of the clip. Then EDIT/SPLIT CLIP or right-click/Split Clip. Then go to the out point of the audio clip and drag to the right to the end of the clip. Then Edit/Split Clip. The clip in the middle should have your 25 minutes of audio.
    Another way: Use Comment Markers
See this Tutorial from Ken Stone.

If neither of those work for you, tell me more about what you are trying to do.

  • IMovie quits when I open a certain project

I have been using iMovie 6.0.3 for several years. My iMac OS is 10.4.11.
I have an iMovie project I've been working on for two weeks and have done hours worth of editing. Tonight when I try to open this project, each time iMovie starts to open, I see a progress bar of my project's name, then iMovie quits. I tried opening other projects and they are successful. How can I retrieve the work I've done in this particular project?

Hi redpen - if all else fails, Control-Click the project's icon, and choose 'Show Package Contents'. In the Cache folder you will find a QT version of your movie. Hopefully this will open in QT. Save it as a self-contained movie. You will of course have only limited editing capability with this if imported into a new iMovie project.

  • IMovie freezes when working with videos from iPhone

Whenever I open iMovie and click on a clip that was imported from my iPhone 4s iMovie freezes along with my Mac. However, when I use a clip form a normal camera, iMovie works flawlessly. Are there any ways to work around this issue? or is it just something I cant do?

Well it could be a few different things. Bad memory, a corrupted HD, a permissions problem, a bad video card, the list goes on. Check out
    http://www.apple.com/support/mac101/help/
for troubleshooting tips to try and isolate the problem.
swapping out memory chips, resetting the PRAM, and repairing permissions (in no particular order) would be the first thigs I'd try.
