Imovie has disappeared~

Well essentially, imovie no longer exists on my mac. When I search, it doesn't come up, when I download a update, it says there's no imovie to update from. I'm almost certain that I couldn't have accidentally deleted it that I seldom ever use it to remember that I have it, let alone whenever I need to do some video editing, I remember that I have it.
I have my leopard os x CD, and imovies isn't even available for download there either.
I may just be ignorant and have overlooked something, but I would love to be able get imovie back.

Hi
iMovie is not part of the Mac OS as eg Snow Leopard but part of the iLife bundle.
This also is pre installed on most Macs and You find it on the original DVDs that
was delivered with the Mac.
You need them - or have to buy a new iLife bundle.

On my new iMac Mavericks idMovie dhas disappeared (crashed?). lSince the programme is preinstalled, I have no CD to reinstall it. Several film projects were under work. How could I get back the programme?

Mavericks doesn't include iMovie. It's a separate download from the App Store.
Log into the App Store and download it.

  • Project in iMovie has disappeared!

It says the file exits but it does not show up! Please anyone know how to fix this?

Does anyone know if this is a common problem? I think I moved it by accident....could that have changed the format of the file and erased it contents?
I suspect it would not be a common problem except for those who may move the project package out of its proper directory. If you did move it as you suspect, try moving it back. iMovie '08 expects that all of you projects to be locate within a folder entitled "iMovie Projects" which should be in the "Movies" folder in your "user" area. If not there, that would explain why the opened iMovie '08 application can't "see it."

  • Original iMovie app. has disappeared

    Hi,
I recently installed iLife '08 on my computer. Before installation, a message window appeared. It said:
*"iMovie '08 will not be installed on your computer.* iMovie '08 requires a Mac computer with an intel processor, or Power Mac G5 (dual 2.0GHz or faster) or an iMac G5 (1.9GHz or faster). See Read Me for requirements. Installation of the other iLife '08 applications will proceed."
I thought it would leave the old iMovie app. (that originally came with my computer) intact. However, the original iMovie has completely disappeared from my applications. I've looked everywhere, but, alas, no iMovie.
If anybody can enlighten me about this mysterious disappearance and/or how to get my old iMovie back, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    wayhun

I recently installed iLife '08 on my computer.
I went to the web page that you suggested (http://support.apple.com/downloads/iMovie-HD-6), but it didn't seem to apply to my problem of the missing iMovie 3.
I would try this download if you haven't already done so. I believe Apple offers iMovie6 as a free option instead of iMovie8 for those who have purchased iLife08. If it installs, I'm sure it is a better product than your original iMovie3.

  • My iPhoto app has disappeared and my iMovie has a question mark through it!?

I went to go onto my iphoto app on my macbook pro today and realised it was missing and imovie has a question mark on the app and won't let me open it can any help me get it back please? I haven't messed with it nor deleted it so haven't got a clue where it has gone or what's happened. I don't want to pay for it as its not cheap and I had it for free on the mac so don't see why I should by it.
    Thanks in advance

I've managed to get them back for all the other people who are having the same problem go onto the app store on your Mac and once it loaded click 'Purchases' with a little price tag by it and look for it in the list and it should be there for you to install it again for free

  • Imovie data disappeared

Hi. Am working on an OSX V10.9.4 and using the newest version of imovie.
Spent zillions of hours working on two projects:
An imovie film with video clips
A slide show with a combination of stills and the odd video clip
The finished film has disappeared entirely along with all the imported video clips.
As per the slide show all of the images are gone -and all that remains is the music, transitions and 2 or 3 video clips in the slide show. Poof.
    NO idea what happened. Thoughts?
Can I use the time machine to restore imovie from a week ago and will that restore the data as well?
Any help would be MOST appreciated

It will restore the data and the imovie program from, let's say, a week ago?
Still confused as to why this happened, though. Worrisome.
    Thank you for your feedback

  • Can no longer connect to my network and 'forget network' option has disappeared??

Can no longer connect to my network and "forget network" option has disappeared???  (Ipod touch 5th generation). This happened on both my children's ipods. We have reset network settings but it doesn't help.

JEM24 , your suggestion is included in:
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.

  • While importing and burning some CDs, my entire library has disappeared.  Also, there no longer is a "burn file to disc" command in the File menu.  I have downloaded the latest version of itunes which restored only tracks I bought from the iTunes store.

Also, the "burn playlist to disc" command has disappeared from the File options.  I downloaded the latest version of iTunes but that only restored tracks I'd bought from the iTunes store.  I also tried setting up another logon.

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping.  Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be copied & renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to an earlier state. Look for a recent .tmp file that is similar in size to the .itl files in the Previous iTunes Libraries folder. If it has happened repeatedly you may want the earliest such file generated since the last iTunes upgrade.
If applicable, see iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
I've noticed more of these missing library posts of late and a common factor to most since I started asking is AVG Anti-Virus. It seems in some cases it might be at least part of the reason why the library file disappears. Try excluding the iTunes folder from any AV scanning process.

  • SharePoint Server 2013 Search Box has disappeared

    Hi guys,
SharePoint Server 2013 Search Box has disappeared and not showing on any sites. Even when I try to go to Search centre site I get an error "sorry something went wrong...
Web Parts Maintenance Page: If you have permission, you can use this page to temporarily close Web Parts or remove personal settings. For more information, contact your site administrator. "
My search SA is working fine and crawl running with no error. It seems like there was same issue on SP foundation 2013 where there is fixed released for that:
    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2760625?wa=wsignin1.0
But I have SP Server and i can confirm that I have installed SP1 (KB288055) in my farm.
I wonder if I need to install any CU to fix this.... I haven't installed any CUs in my farm yet.
Shall I go for Feb 2015 CU update or Sept 2014 CU? or is there any fixes for that with no CU or I need to install my farm from the scratch....
    Please help.
    Any advice greatly appreciated.

You have deactivated SharePoint Search from center Admin.
    Please activate it

  • Memory on phone has disappeared overnight!

    Hi
    I have the 6300.

Whoa! Maybe someone has sneaked in to your phone.

  • My Top Sites Button Has Disappeared - How do you get it back?

I have safari for windows xp and have noticed that my top sites button on the top left has disappeared. I want to get it back and have tried -general settings -customize toolbar, and i've tried -edit -preferences -toolbar, but neither have an option of re-adding the top sites button.
Does anyone know what has happened - have apple deleted the top sites function?
If anyone has any ideas it'd be a great help. thanks.

The button is still there with 5.0.2. (At least, still supposed to be there.)
Are your video drivers or display adaptor drivers up to date? (Plausibly, the higher version of Safari may have outstripped the capabilities of your existing drivers. If so, an update of the drivers may be of some assistance.)

Any ideas on what to do next?
    I'm running and iMac 20-inch  early 2009
Processor  2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory  8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB
    Software  OS X 10.8.4 (12E55)

    Step 1
Quit Calendar. Triple-click the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu. A Finder window should open with a file named "Calendar Cache" selected.
Move the selected file to the Trash. There may be one or two other files in the same folder with names that begin in "Calendar Cache". If so, delete those files too.
    Step 2
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash as well:
    iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
To locate large files, you can use Spotlight. That method may not find large folders that contain a lot of small files.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders. It may take some minutes for ODS to list all the files.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • How to open Viewer from other apps? - App 'URL Scheme' has disappeared from Viewer Builder!

    Hello
The 'URL Scheme' option in the Viewer Builder did let me to specify a url that made other apps open my viewer. But this option has disappeared from the newer version of Viewer Builder. So. How do I do now to let other apps open my viewer?

Is there a spacial reason that the URL scheme option was taken away from ordinary Multi-issue viewers? It was there in earlier version. I'll explain our situation:
Our client want to publish corporate information; annual reports etc, with DPS. Not really magazines or newspapers you subscribe to.
We are making another app where they publish news articles, videos etc. In that app, we want to have a link which opens the viewer with their publications.
To make this simple thing work, we have to create a 'subscription' to content which is not relly good for subscribing (it is free and announced with push anyway). We also have to tell the client to create Privacy Policys etc for this. A lot of hassle for something we do not really want.
Any chance that this option will come back in v19?

  • My ipad has disappeared but shows "offline" constantly so I cannot locate it.    it

My ipad 2 WiFi (not 3G) has disappeared. It may be lost or stolen-we simply cannot find it. Last seen it was on standby mode. That was 9 days ago. It was 4 digit passcode protected. I have now activated the find my ipad app via icloud but it shows the device is constantly offline. (1) If it is lost then I presume by now the battery will have run down so it will carry on recording offline forever until we find it (unless it accidentally went in the bin with eg the newspapers) ? OR (2) If it is "stolen"/found by someone inclined to keep it would they be able to wipe it and use it for themselves and simply acquire new apps etc for it and have it good as new so to speak...? AND (3) If they do that is there any way I can check if there is "usage" / another user showing against my ipad serial number on Apple's records -not because I expect Apple to blacklist the device as I know they do not do that- but just so I can give up on this insane constant checking on icloud.com whether the find my ipad app has reverted to "online" so I can track its location? If there were usage then I would know once and for all that it has been wiped and is gone for good and I can move on and buy a new one but if there is no usage it would tell me it must be around somewhere and I should keep tearing the house apart to find it.....???

The same way that you would find a lost wallet.
