Imovie HD 6.0.3 not working with any photos that are 3MB or larger?!?
I am unable to see any pictures I have taken with my new high resolution camera that takes photos at 3MB and larger file size. They can not be seen in the preview pain nor in the timeline bar to be able to edit them. I can use and see all my old photos that are less than 3MB in size just fine. I have tried changing my playback settings with no help. The strangest thing is though I can some times see them and manipulate them but inevitably they go black again in the preview pain and the time line in iMovie. Can anyone help.
Thank you for your help but I have only deleted a few pictures and I have hundreds and none of them will render. They all still appear as black. And are you talking about re-importing all my new pictures into iphoto and then dragging them into imovie through the quick view media window? I went to one orignal photo and directly dragged and dropped it into a project that is having the trouble and it imports ok and then when the red bar in the time line makes it to the end of the picture frame section it goes black again. Also I created a brand new project and dragged and dropped 4 new original pictures into the time line and the same thing happened. The most confusing part is that it works fine with any older picture I have that is less than the 3MB size picture I have from our new 12 megapixel camera by Cannon which stores the files in .JPG format. Is it possibly a glitch or a corrupt program file within imovie itself? I have also restarted the program and the computer just in case and there is no change.

I am running 10.8 and I am trying to get a E-mu 1x1 midi/usb connector to work with my keyboards. It's not working with any keyboard at all. I believe it is a Mainstage/Mac issue. Mainstage can recognize the the interface but it won't work.
Here are two screen shots to show you what I am seeing. The first screen shot shows it allowing me to select (highlighted in blue) my admin user (which is what I am locced in as). The second screen shot shows it allowing me to select the "Guest" user (highlighted in blue). However when I click on the user "Orion" nothing happens. It will not change to highlight that user.

thanks in advanceWhen you plug the headphones in can you still hear the audio through the MacBook's built-in speakers? If you can then you may have a physical problem with the audio port on the MacBook. In any case, you should check to see if the headphones are being recognized in the System Preferences -> Sound control panel (under the "Output" tab). Note that it is possible to have different volume/mute settings between the speakers and the headphones so you need to check the Sound control panel to see if you have the headphone output set to mute. When I plug a set of headphones into my MacBook the output name in the Sound control panel changes to "Headphones" from "Internal Speakers." You should check to see if you see the same behavior on your MacBook.

MyDAQ fails Self-Test and will not work with any software
I cannot get the myDAQ to communicate properly. I did everything I could to make sure that the device was detected by the computer. It shows up in Device Manager under Data Acquistition Devices as NI myDAQ and in NI MAX as "myDAQ1", but I receive errors when trying to use it with any NI program.
Trying to self-test or reset the device in MAX gives these errors:
-The self test failed. -88705 The specified device is not present or is not active in the system. The device may not be installed on this system, may have been unplugged, or may not be installed correctly.
-There was a problem resetting the device. Error code: 80040383.
It also gives this error when trying to use the Elvis Oscilloscope:
-Error -200324 occurred at ELVISmx_DAQmx Create Channel (AI-Voltage-Basic).vi:1
Possible reason(s):
NI-DAQmx is unable to communicate with the device. Make sure the device is present in and accessible to the system, is not currently being reset, and is not reserved by another driver such as Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy).
I have uninstalled and reinstalled and repaired all installed NI products twice. I updated to NI-DAQmx 9.8.0 and am using NI Elvis 4.5. I have checked NI Device Loader and mDNS Responder Service in Services and everything is running properly. I have also tried Reset Configuration Data in NI MAX several times. I turned Fast Startup off as suggested in one article. I have tried plugging it into every single USB port on my computer; all 8 of them. The blue led is on when plugged in, but I cannot figure out why it will not work with any of the software. I am running Windows 8 Pro 64-bit. Also, it completely works on the school computers running Windows 7 without any problems. I would like to have it functioning with all the NI software purchased, but all I want to do is use the oscilloscope software for now. It has honestly been way too much work and a huge loss of time for something that should work out of the box. Please help me resolve this, thanks.

I had already read that article so it wasn't anything I hadn't tried. I did, however, uninstall both NI DAQmx and NI ELVISmx, ran the registry cleaner and then plugged my device in. Now it shows up as USB Flash Firmware Updater. This is actually what it showed the first time I plugged this in out of the box. After much troubleshooting I was finally able to get it to at least recognize it as a myDAQ. This is problem I know others have had.
To answer your questions:
Does the Test Panels work at all?
I am not sure, I didn't try it before uninstalling. Now the Test Panels isn't an option because it is recognized as the Flash Firmware Updater.
Have you tried to delete the device in MAX?
Once again, I cannot because it shows up as Flash Firmware Updater.
Which is the color of the icon on the left side of “myDAQ1”?
It was green before the uninstall. Now it shows the USB symbol.
I tried deleting the driver. When I plugged the device back it, Windows started automatically trying to load a driver for it. Now it shows as NI myDAQ with a yellow exclamation symbol. In MAX it shows as NI myDAQ with a USB symbol. Under Driver Details it says "Windows does not have a driver associated with your device."
What folder can I manually point Device Manager to in order to load the correct driver?

Iphone 4 model MC603B/A is not working with any sim card

I just bought myself a Iphone 4 and it is not working with any sim card so far. So far I tried everything, even bought sim cards from different countries to see if that would work. I tried the sim cards in others phones and are working correctly in those.
Several websites says that this phone is from the UK?! but even the sim cards from the UK arent working.
I have the legit firmware form iTunes and im up to date. (no jailbreak or what so ever)

As for why it is criminal, ONLY the carrier has the legal right to authorize unlocking it. In some countries (as it was in the US until recently and may be again soon) it is legal for an individual phone owner to unlock thier phone, it is not legal for a 3rd party to do so. Also, those services are not just "unlocking" the phone, they are gaining unauthorized access to a commercial database. That is a crime in almost every civilized country. -
Does iChat work with other users that are on other types of smartphones? or only Mac iPhones and iMac Mail, Contacts, etc?

It needs the computer to be listed as if it in the United States and contacting a Phone that is on a Carrier in the United States that is accepting SMS forwarding from AIM
You list the Buddy as AIM and then +plus their number as in +123456789
The computer can be made to "think" it is in the United States in System Preferences > International (or Text a Language in Lion) then Formats tab.
The Phone has to be a US phone with all the trimmings about AIM's SMS forwarding.

More detail: I have a bunch of mpeg HD video files that were shot on a SONY HDR-HC3 Handycam camcorder. I would like to edit these into a single video production. I can access and view the mpeg files using VLC (Quicktime does not work with them). However, I seem to be unable to get the mpeg files to interface with iMovie '11 -- I cannot use the File --> Import command, nor can I drag-and-drop them into iMovie.
Is there something anyone might suggest to get this to work? Or are these files incompatible with iMovie? If so, I assume I must purchase a different video editing software program (e.g. Adobe Premeir Pro). Suggestions???

The files were ordered by their original numbers as imported from the camera, but I batched them through Phocoshop to downsize all of them into a more manageable file size. I opened that destination folder from quick time from where it said select image sequence. I clicked on the first one and opened it. The result was a large image with an arrow indicating a movie was ready to go. When I pressed the arrow, though, I realized it had only imported that one frame so there was no movie. The files are Jpgs and are about 450 KB each.
To your knowledge are there any links to iMovie tutorials or quick time tutorials that may address this situation? Maybe there will be one I haven't looked at yet.

first - please go to tools>options on skype, choose whichever is right for camera options and make sure the correct camera is appears in the drop-box. Anything with "hp-camera" or "cybershot" will do.
if it still doesn't work you will need to open the touchsmart software and disable the camera usage through that software - because once a software uses the webcam - any other software cannot do use it. ( just like you cannot use the camera on skype and on msn messenger at the same time.

Weak PSU is all I could say. 300watts can't even support a P4 stablely, not even to talk about combining a P4 to any new VGA cards... Get a better 400watts or more PSU with +3.3v at @ least 26A, +5v at @ least 35A and +12v at @ least 18A. -

Windows, Linux?, if Windows what version?, What type and speed Memory are you using? What type of CPU, a P-4, a Celeron, what speed?.ect. What Voltage is the Mem. set to, Voltage of the CPU?...These are all things that we need to know..Otherwise if we do not have this info we have to guess....So please we want to help ..But you have to give us all the info we need ...Sean REILLY875

I had firefox on my computer and it made me download the newer version, but once I downloaded it, it said it does not work on my computer which is a Mac OS 10.4 and now I cannot use firefox at all on my computer. How do I download an older version that will work on my computer?
As of Firefox 4.0 and newer one needs at least OSX 10.5+ and Intel hardware.
The latest you can use on your Intel with OSX 10.4.11 is Firefox 3.6.25 (released recently) which can be found at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
If you were to update to say OSX 10.5.8 then you can use Firefox 9.0.1
