IMovie HD and Imovie 08 on the same machine ?

Silly question
On my previous computer I used to have IMovie 6 and IMovie HD and both were running flawlessly.
On the new computers with 10.5 we only got Imovie08, which is quite awkward to begin with..
I guess that if I have no HDV / AVCHD content it is possible to run IMovie HD as well ?
Thank's
Luc

..Just to prove it, here are iMovie 2.1.2 and iMovie '08 running happily together (click on the picture for a larger, clearer version..)

  • How to use Forms 5 and DevSuite 10g in the same machine

    Hello everybody,
I have installed forms 5 and IDS 10g in one machine and both the versions of the forms were working simultaneously. Now I have un-installed both the versions of the forms and re-installed in the same machine. Installation was successful. but I am not able to connect to the database in forms 5. It shows TNS could not resolve service name. TNS is created in both the versions with same name as well as different name. The IDS is working fine. Please help.
    Thanks and regards

    Sukanto,
What error are you getting? One potential problem you will have with more than one version of Oracle Dev Suite installed is keeping the TNSNAMES.ORA synchronized. I've found the easiest solution to this problem is to add the TNS_ADMIN registry key to each Oracle Home so I can share a single copy of the TNSNAMES.ORA file. You can add this entry by starting the Window Registry editor (regedt32.exe or regedit.exe) and navigate to the following registry hive:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE => SOFTWARE => ORACLE => HOME? (where ? represents the number of the Oracle Home, eg., 0-9).
In your example, Forms 5 should be in HOME0 and IDS 10g should be in HOME1. Open each home and add a new "String Value" and name it: TNS_ADMIN. After you have added the new String Value entry, edit the String Value and enter the path to the copy of your TNSNAMES.ORA that is working. Then do the same thing with HOME1 and exit the Registry. You should be able to connect to your database with Forms 5 and IDS 10g. Normally, changes to the registry do not require you to reboot your computer, but I have seen where this is necessary - though not very often.
Note: Always ensure you have a BACKUP of the Windows Registry before you make any changes. If you uncomfortable modifying the Windows Regisitry, then I don't recommend you make this change.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to best support CT2, CT3 and CT4 clients from the same machine?

I have clients that are still insisting on CT2 and CT3 for
    their

To remove file from iPhoto and the HD simply put the files in the iPhoto trash and then go iPhoto Menu -> Empty trash.
This works if you're using iPhoto in the default setting, where the files are copied to the Library on import. If, however, you have a referenced library, you'll need to trash the files in your own folder structure yourself.

  • Installation of Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader on the same machine

What is the recommendation from Adobe on having both Adobe Acrobat Pro/Std installed and Adobe Reader installed on the same machine?
Is there an 'official' or 'recommended' statement for this?

I think it is not recommended or supported for versions earlier than X.

  • Forms 6i and developer 10g on the same machine

Can i have forms 6i and developer 10g on the same machine

    Jacob,
Were you installing any patches to the Forms 6i?? I think your problem was a mix up in the environmental variables.
multiple versions of the same Oracle product CAN* be installed successfully on the same machine, it has been done by many.
Do not generalize one experience, since you are working on VMware, try them on one, it's easy to revert to a snapshot ;)
Install Forms 6i first patch it configure it and restart your machine and install DS 10g, On this machine I have Forms 6i and DS 10g installed at this same moment, and it's been working fine for that last 2 years.

  • Multiple Middleware Homes and Node Managers on the same machine.

    Hi Experts,
Before I explain the issue we are facing, I would like to explain the environment.
    - Single Machine.
    - Multiple Weblgoic homes (I mean two weblogic software installations).
    C:\Oracle\MiddlewareODS
    C:\Oracle\MiddlewareIAM
    - MiddlewareODS has a domain called "ODSDomain" with the maanged servers ods and oif.
    - MiddlewareIAM has a domain called "IAMDoain" with the managed server oim, oam, oaam, and oif.
Our requirement is to have seperate nodemanager for each domain and they belong to different weblogic software homes.
    - MiddlewareODS node manager port is 5556
    - MiddlewareIAM node manager port is 5557
Though we configured different port for each node manager , we are not able to start both the node managers. We are able start only one node manager at a time.
My question is, Can each weblogic home has it's own node manager on the same machine ?
    Thanks

Nodemanagers are not domain specific. Thus you can have one nodemanager in one machine and have multiple servers from multiple domains managed on that machine via this single node manager. You just need to update your nodemanager.domains properties file to have all the domains which your single nodemanager would listen to.

Can I run two versions of JDK at the same machine? IS there any drawback of doing this?

    i have jdk's 1.1, 1.2, 1.3.1_04 and 1.4.0_01 and jre's 1.3.1_01, 1.3.1_04 and 1.4.0_01 installed on my machine without problems.
but as the last post indicates it can get confusing some times.
i use batch files for different builds to set the path as needed.
the only issue I know of where I can't switch from one to another is in my browser where i have the (last installed) 1.4 runtime but i can use the different appletviewers for testing in this case.
in case anyone is wondering why i have all these installed. i use
1.1 for some applets because if you can get away with just this people generally don't need the plug-in.
1.2 is old but sometimes i use it for some stuff for servers that don't have anything newer
i.4 is what i use normally
1.3 i need to use the ActiveX bridge and packager which was removed in 1.4 but is coming back for the next release.

  • Can I run iPhoto 09 and iPhoto 11 on the same machine?

A few months ago I bought a MacBook Air, which came pre-installed with iPhoto 11. On a recent trip I tried using it to edit a lot of photos I took. This program is appalling! So many clicks to carry out edits (3:1) compared with iPhoto 09! Cropping is a nightmare on a trackpad; it's almost impossible to nail down the crop to the right size and position. The comments area is ruined; I annotate all my photos and this used to be really easy, with the comments area right next to the photo in the bottom left of the screen. Now I have to go through mouse clicks to access the comments and only two visible lines are available and then scroll bars kick in. To view the comments I now have to fiddle around trying to hover over the comments box, instead of just glancing at the corner of the screen.
Who designed this beast? Who could possibly think its editing ergonomics are an improvement over iPhoto 09? As a result, I want to install iPhoto 09 on my MacBook Air, which I'll do using by using the wireless disk function from my Mac Pro. The question is, do I have to de-install iPhoto 11 first, or can the programs sit side-by-side? I shall put the iPhoto 09 icon in my dock so I launch the right version.
I know this post contains a complaint, which is because I want to know if other users share my frustration. However, I have also sent a lengthy feedback to Apple in the hope they may simplify the editing in iPhoto 12.

    Hi Jayson,
I never tried to install SAP on XP myself... only heard that someone had issues with it, and it is not officially listed in PAM.
For separated ABAP and JAVA systems, you can install them in any order.
For ABAP+JAVA, you have to install ABAP first, or both at the same time.
All installation guides are available at https://service.sap.com/instguides

  • Can we have both IFS 1.0 and 1.1 on the same machine? (eom)

    -

    Yes, with the following restrictions:
    1. iFS 1.0 can only access a 1.0 schema
    2. iFS 1.1 can only access a 1.1 schema
(that is, the 1.0 and 1.1 software cannot access the same files/ifs schema; you must have two different iFS schemas created on the database)
    3. iFS 1.0 can be running at the same time as iFS 1.1 only if the iFS 1.0 protocol servers (including JWS and the JWS admin service) are configured to use different ports than the iFS 1.1 protocol servers.
    4. only ONE SMB server may run -- EITHER the iFS 1.0 SMB server OR the iFS 1.1 SMB server, because the SMB port is not configurable.
    5. you must have a lot of RAM :-)
Note: you can use the same database for both iFS schemas. You can also install both versions of iFS in the same ORACLE_HOME. iFS 1.0 will be located in $ORACLE_HOME/ifs and iFS 1.1 will be located in $ORACLE_HOME/ifs1.1

    Hi Abhishek,
You can install or mount both DB and OBIEE on same machine, but check out the disk space and memory needed should be more to accomodate both.

  • Terminating ssl on a bigip, disco and oid running on the same machine

    hi,
please could someone point me in the right direction.
I have a working discoverer server 10.1.2 running on a host on 7777
I have a working 10.1.2 SSO and OIM 10.1.2 server running on the same host on port 7779
Everything works fine with OID authentication being forwarded to AD servers.
I'd like to put a bigip in front of the SSO server and terminate the SSL on the bigip, because this seemed to be simplest.......
The bigip docs say delete the SSO Server from the partner apps (this isn't possible from the SSO web interface, I can only view it).
I need to get discoverer to connect to the https://[bigip] for SSO authentication.
I know I need to use ssoreg.sh to do this, the combination of commands eg which homes to use I am having difficulty getting right.
    Thanks in advance,
    Robbo

And also, how I can interchange message between independent applications (or services) on the same computer? The same way you would interchange messages between them if they were running on different computers.
You already seem to understand the concept of clients and servers passing messages between each other. There is nothing to prevent a "server" from being a client of another server. And there is nothing to prevent a client from running on the same computer as a server.

  • How do we Install Forms 6i and Server 8i on the same machine (PC)

Well i am Trying to Install Forms6i and Oracle 8i Server on the same PC and not succeeding. Can anyone help.

    Follow below steps
    1. Remove all Oracle versions in your machine. In NT, To Delete Oracle, delete HKEYLocalMachine/software/oracle , HKEYLocalMachine/software/services/oracle* registry keys, restart m/c and delete all oracle home directories.
    2. Install Forms 6i Server in the default home directory. If you want to develop forms in same m/c, use custom installation and select forms server, forms developer and webdb listner ( if needed ).
    3. Install Oracle 8i in a different oracle home.
    4. configure oracle forms server and webdb listner. ( See Note:107596.7 in matalink)

  • Business One, Terminal Server, and SQL Server on the same machine

    Hi,
We have a customer who has a machine with Win Server 2003 R2.  They are using it as a Terminal Server with Business One for multiple users and as a SQL Server.  The have memory leakage issues which they believe are caused by our add-on, which, when it fails, has over a gig of ram allocated to it.  Our add-on was created using VB .NET 2005 and should be able to depend on the GC to prevent memory leaks.  Is there something about this approach that is problematic?  Should they have SQL Server on one machine and terminal server with Business One on a different machine?
    Thanks,
    Mike

we have many customers that have this situation. all on one server.
the only thing that i recommend is that the server has POWER !
4 Gigabyte RAM should be minimum and the server should have 2 quadcore processor. -> this results in 8 cores and enough power.
    regards

  • Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6 and OBI EE  on the same machine - I need help ,please !

My laptop has only 4G Ram (even this , my windows 7 machine can see only 2,96G) . I read about sample install option fro installing OBIEE , this option might eat less memory.
My need is to prepare myself for an interview about OBI EE and I think if I make this config would be nice .
    Thank for your help,
    Aurel

    Hi,
very important for an interview is to know where to ask questions just so the interviewer gets the impression you are part of the community and know your way around. For BI, you should ask questions on the BI forum (https://forums.oracle.com/forums/category.jspa?categoryID=16)
