IMovie HD Crop plugin corrupted

Hey All...
Does any one know how to fix the crop plugin in iMovie HD 6. This plugin stopped working for reason unknown, after giving an error message "Something wrong with the plugin Crop"

Try deleting the imovie preference file.
Close Imovie.
Then locate a file named com.apple.imovie.plist and get rid of it. Then empty the trash, run a permissions repair with disk utility and restart. That might do it. The files you need to delete are found in:
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.imovie.plist

Imovie 3 crops imported still photos

I'm trying to make a slide show of still images. Imovie 3 crops my imported photos (NOT from iphoto) to fit screen, instead of shrinking photos to fit. How to correct? Thanks.

Thanks, everyone. Ken Burns WAS off; I ended up just re-sizing my images in photoshop before importing.
BUT whether I import via iPhoto or just from my desktop, the images are really pixelated when played back on Quicktime player. Will it look different after burning to DVD? The images are 1280 x 960, 150dpi. And BTW, you DO need to embed a color profile, at least in this experience.

IMovie 6 HD Plugin Incompatibility

I have been using iMovie HD 6.0.3 (267.2) for a while and have found it a very untrustworthy and unreliable application. Apart from the regular crashes, one day my iMovie refused to open so I reinstalled it from iLife 05 and updated it from the apple site. Now when I open iMovie I get the following pop-up message -
The plugin “Twirl.bundle” cannot be loaded, because it isn't designed to run on this computer. If you don't need this plugin, remove it from your plugins folder (in Library > iMovie)
Now I know I used Twirl on previous projects with no problems and yet when I got to the plugins folder, as directed, I find it completely empty.

You cannot update iMovie 5 (part of iLife 5) you have to buy iLife 6.
I have been using iMovie 6 for two years and have never had a serious problem with it.

IMovie 09 cropping on still images

Hi
Is it my stupidity or is it impossible to crop a still image in iMovie 09 and still have the crop extend beyond the edges of the photo? Currently Ken Burns can't include any of the black area outside the photo.
I've looked all over for a way to turn this off but can't find one. If this is true it makes using Ken Burns on a portrait oriented photo useless. I can't believe theere isn't a way to do this.
Then Fit option allows the black area around the photo to be used, why can't I use this space in cropping or Ken Burns???
Does this make any sense? TIA for any help.

There is an Automator action called "pad images" which will add the black space so that Ken Burns works for portrait-oriented photos.

CRM 2011 Outlook plugin corrupts emails

Hi, we have CRM 2011 server with rollup 14 installed, using CRM 2011 for Outlook plugin. One client PC's Outlook client is corrupting many emails when set to track in CRM.
I have removed CRM, removed all registry entries pertaining to CRM, repaired Office 2013, reinstalled CRM 2011, applied rollup 14, and this still happens. Every PC I configure with the account and open the email, it crashes Outlook. I have run scanPST on
the OST, run the repair requests in Exchange server 2010. I have deleted the forms cache.
When an email gets corrupted, when opened in Outlook it says "Could not install the custom actions" and then Outlook 2013 crashes. It does this in Outlook 2010 also. In OWA, it says:
"The item can't be opened because it's become corrupted. The entire error report is listed below"

There's nothing in the error report to hint that the problem is related to CRM. The error report contains references to voting data. Does the problem email have voting buttons enabled on it? In Outlook 2013, when you create a new email message there is
a Options tab with a feature called Use Voting Buttons. Perhaps this feature has a problem on its own, or when voting emails are tracked in CRM?

Imovie migration failed, libraries corrupted and partial

while migrating to the new imovie / maverick (i have 3 external hard drives with about 4 tb) by creating a file on my 500gb laptop the process crashed.
I received a message "please quit the migration before your libraries are corrupted" which i did.
I freed up 150gb by removing other things so my laptop would be usable. however
Now i have partial libraries, inability to upload from a camera, did not intend to have the files on my laptop.
should i revert to a pre-maverick backup?
should i delete the new imovie and upload again, without having my external hard drives connected (and perform their update in a second phase?)

I would, using kerberos, like to migrate from servers in each direction, since they are both R2 on AD it's to my understanding that this is possible.
I need to clarify, the environment where I am attempting to set this up is far too small for segregated, purpose specific servers.
I cant purchase multiple servers/editions of datacenter to perform the roles required.
I can make partitions for some of the roles stores, if that will improve reliability, but would that alone resolve the issue at hand?
I am able to copy Virtual machines over samba to the recipient servers and import them through the server manager with no issue, but the moment I attempt to use the constrained delegation or the CredSPP method, I receive the same message with the code 21026
every time.
Can having the systems offline cause this, I was fairly concerned that it was a DNS configuration issue but now I am just unsure.
I have ran windows update on the datacenter windows, but to no avail.

Hi Friends. I have a question that I hope someone can help me with. I was editing a clip for an audition, on my iPhone using iMovie. At the bottom of the screen where I'm making my edits everything looks fine, but the top screen has cropped the top of my head off. After I finished my edits and look at the finished product, I'm still missing the top half of my head. If anybody knows how to fix this I would be so greatful. Thanks.

IPhoto vids to iMovie'11 ends up corrupting?

I'm trying to import from iPhoto to iMovie'11 and when I import it to iMovie'11 above my imported footage a redish/orangish line appears over all of it which I believe means corrupted. Yes, I'm using the latest updates, software, iMovie, and Macbook Pro Retina 13". I don't understand why I can preview the footage perfectly on iPhoto or when I import I check my finder for the .mov file and view it off Finder, which also streams perfectly, but for some reason is corrupted on iMovie'11? My footage was taken off a GoPro HD HERO3 with a Sandisk Micro SD Card that was transfered onto my mac's sd card slot. After importing to iPhoto I could view it perfectly, then I went to iMovie'11 and imported the iPhoto version to iMovie, then realizing I can't even watch the iMovie'11 version, because I believe it was corrupted. Yes, I've tried 2 times to delete the .mov files, and reimport to iMovie'11, but it doesn't work. I can stream it perfectly off everything besides iMovie.

Firefox PDF viewer (plugin) corrupts files upon download

This is a bug report. We have found that PDF files opened in the Firefox built-in viewer (plug-in) can become corrupted when downloaded using the 'Download' icon on the upper right-hand corner of the screen. When we attempt to open one of these damaged files using Acrobat, this error message is displayed:
'There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.'
If we instead download the file by right-clicking in the viewer plug-in and select 'Save Page As...' the file is downloaded undamaged.

Someone should agitate for uplifting the fix to Firefox 25. I've probably saved dozens of PDFs this way, some of which may be dynamically generated during a transaction and now unrecoverable. !!

Has anyone found their cutaway photo in iMovie 11 to be corrupted by an erroneous 2nd cutaway photo that appears in the middle of the chosen photo? It's really strange!

I'm working on an iMovie video with cutaway photos. Everything was great until I was nearing completion. I decided to take another full view of the project as I have trough out the project. Now I have a serious problem in that my first cutaway has an erroneous 2nd cutaway that appears 1 second after the selected cutaway starts. I can change photos and it doesn't change the outcome. The same photo appears. If I remove the photo from the clip, the clip plays flawlessly. I was working near the end of the movie at the time and the problem is at the very beginning. I hope someone understands what I'm saying. It's a pretty strange thing to happen...even by mistake. Apple says you can't do a cutaway inside a cutaway. So I don't know how I can do it with a missed keystroke on a slip of the finger. I hope someone has a direction for me! Thanks

Hello, We are having a similar problem running iMovie '09. We get the exact same error as you reported.
"Unable to prepare project for publishing" The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred (-50)
We have a very similar situation were we have multiple repeated clips. However, our clips are 2.4 's. Like you, we took the finished project and started eliminating edits that we thought might be preventing it from exporting. The following actions still would not allow the project to export:
removing title pages
removing transitions
removing imported music from iTunes
removed another clip from another event
closed all other programs
closed iMovie, powered off computer, opened iMovie, tried to export
reconfirmed the last project exported would still export - it did without issueThe only difference between the project that will export and the one that does not are these short (2.4's) repeating clips
When we create the new project from the recorded event without making any edits (just as recorded), it exports without issue. We have started the arduous task of adding back in each edit and testing it for export until we determine which edit is causing it to "not export". This is a very inefficient way of troubleshooting.
This is a science project for my son and we need to be able to save it as a QT or mpeg4 movie so that he can submit it to his teacher for viewing and a grade!
Any ideas from any other users would be greatly appreciated.

Problems with iMovie 6.0.3 corrupting old projects?

Hi everyone
This is my first post, and I have a very big problem which I hope you can help me with.
In a nutshell, ever since installing iMovie 6.0.3 I have had some very strange problems with opening certain old projects. On opening a project I get the standard "this is an old project, do you want to convert" message, and then a number of things happen. Either iMovie opens with absolutely nothing in the Clips pane or the timeline (and this is in a project with several gigabytes of clips); or, a couple of random clips appear in the trash, but nothing else; and/or, I get a blank project which seems to be in NTSC format, whereas all my projects are in PAL.
All the original clips are there in the Media folder, but are not recognised if I try to import them (Error during import; Quicktime couldn't parse it: -199).
I have tried re-installing both iMovie 4 and 5, but no joy. So, I can't open the 'bad' projects in either the old iMovie formats or the new one. The wierd thing is that some (newer) projects do work.
Following some old threads here I have tried using Lennart's File Fixer - didn't help. Also tried moving the .mov file and opening project. Again, didn't help.
Sooo...any ideas? I am really desperate! The old files are there, it's just that nothing seems to be able to read them.

Where clips stored iMovie- now that update corrupted FCP

Okay, the latest update has totally messed with Final Cut Pro (which was working fine for me.) Every time I try to "capture" I get a dropped frame error after 12 seconds. I read the threads on this topic and cannot resolve. So I need to capture video and edit.
I'm importing video in iMovie, which I don't use and don't like. For the life of me I cannot find the clips that import in iMovie. I don't want to export an entire Imovie into Quicktime and wait for it to render.
I just want to import some video in iMovie and find the clips and drag them into FCP so I can do some serious editing, but where do they go? How can I simply import in iMovie and get the video into FCP? Where are raw clips stored on my computer?
And shame on you Apple for your update that messed up our computers.

Reinstalling and older OS that worked with the version of FCP (4.5?) that you have didn't work? It should...
I just want to import some video in iMovie and find the clips and drag them into FCP so I can do some serious editing, but where do they go? How can I simply import in iMovie and get the video into FCP? Where are raw clips stored on my computer?
You'd get a better answer from the iMovie forum. You'd be hard pressed to find someone here who uses iMovie:

And just so you know, iMovie does not capture timecode. So if you lose the media, or want to revisit the project after you deleted the media, you'll have no timecode to rebuilt the cut.
But seriously, if you use FCP to earn a living, then you need to do everything to get it working. If that means going back to 10.3.9 (the only supported OS that works with FCP 4.5) or an earlier version of 10.4, then that is what you should do.

IMovie keeps cropping my picture in picture...

I have set my logo png to 16:9 (the same setting as my imovie) but when I drag and drop it in and select picture in picture, it is still cutting off the top and bottom. Please help...it's driving me insane!

afaik, you should be allowed to open the .ai directly in PS; it will ask for a ppi/dpi to convert vector into pixel - as mentioned: no such thing, type 72 .... (10 or 1000 wouldn't make a difference). or, perhaps, there's a 'convert layer into pixel' command (such is for Text layers)? ....

dots-per-inch is a interpolated value in print; a HDef monitor offering 1080 has these 2457600 pixels - INDEPENDENTLY of monitor size (=inch). so, the tiny 10" car display of the huge 60" suite plasma - all same resolution. therefor no ratio pixel vs length .... video only asks for real pixels. whatever size.-
no need to purchase Pixelmator - it's the poor man's Photoshop (on Black Friday it was a 14$ offer) ....

Imovie is cropping out words when im exporting it to my ccamera role

I have a project on imovie and i have to export it to the computer but everytime i export it to my camera role certain letters are cut off also it happened with another app. Is there something wrong with my ipad because it happened with a different app or is it imovie and video star ( video star is the other ap i used to export but it got cut off) the pictures are fine its just the words and IM FREAKING OUT IVE TTRIED EVERYTHING SOMEONE PLEAASEEEE HELP ME

PS It won't let me put the footage into a clips to say start playing 4 seconds into the clip rather that start playing at the top of the clip each time. In fact when you try to insert the frame cursor it automatically any mysteriously selects that entire clip.

IMovie Plugin Counter?

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if there is an iMovie HD 6 Plugin that would allow me to display a real time counter on my video (e.g. like the counters you see on comedy shows when people repeatedly do something daft - the counter counts in real time each time they do it). I hope this is clear.
Any help would be much appreciated.

..hmm, well? considered, to use a 'title'? iM will not notice automatically the 'slip on the banana', so you HAVE to add the number manually.. which is a kind of 'title' ..
