IMovie HD Keeps Quiting On ME!!!!!! HELP!!!!

i just bought a iMac Intel less than a month ago. I have been using iMovie to make a slide show. I all the images I was importing were from my desktop, I was having no problems at all for about 2 and-a-half weeks. Then yesterday I moved all the images to an external hard drive in the morning and later that day I opened up iMovie and started working. I hit the media button then clicked the photos button a message came up in the window where the images usually are. The message said loading images... . Then iMovie unexpectedly quit on me. I waited a few minuets then reopened iMovie and about a minuet later the same thing. I shutdown my Mac for about 15 minuets then restarted... the same result over and over. I deleted the slide show put all the images back on my desktop and made a new project and reimported all the images yet iMovie just keeps quitting! I am having no other problems with any other application only iMovie HD! It is driving me crazy does any one know how I can fix this error. Please help!!!!!

They are the preferences that imovie makes every time you make a movie.
Don't worry-you can delete them to clear up any corrupted preference files and imovie will create a new set the next time you launch the program.
Just be sure to close imovie before you delete them or it won't make any changes.
The files you need to delete are located:
Users/YourName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.imovie.plist
Then empty the trash.
