Imovie HD quits unexpectedly on start

Question

Okay, noob here. Day 1 w/my Mini. I was playing with imovie HD, trying to import some pictures. The program hung up, so I forced quit from the dock. Now when I try to open imovie, I get the message: "The application imovie HD quit unexpectedly. Click reopen to open app again...and so on." When I click Reopen, it starts to open, then I get the same message again.
Any thoughts? I have a Mac Mini 1.83 w/2GB RAM if that helps.

This sounds like a messy hard disk. I would start with.
a. Delete iMovie pref file/s.
    -->/Users/YourName**/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iMovie.plist
     and
    -->/Users/YourName**/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iMovie3.plist
Run programs that clean up Your hard disk.
b. Run: Repair Permissions (Apple Disk Util tool)
c. Run: repair hard disk (Apple Disk Util tool) (You need to start from CD or ext hd)
d. leave Your Mac on during a night: automated cleaning up about 01:00 - 03:00
or run MacJanitor and Mac Sweeper (Google them)
e. after this - unplug the mains for 30 min. really - cord out. This will reset some
ports eg. FW-port. (probably not Your problem but anyhow I include it)
Free space on Your internal hard disk > than 15Gb (at least)
