Imovie not loading entirely

I was working on iMovie and went to have dinner. After I got back, i opened back iMovie and I cannot see all the slides/clips and all the editing features won't work. If I move the mouse around where all the clips would be I can see the movie "preview" on the right side. If i press the space bar the movie will play however I cannot click on anything other than closing and minimazing.
any ideas?

okay so I created a new user account and fix all the problem. However. . . .
iMovie is updated to iMovie 9 ( new account ).... the one that has the problem is iMovie 8...
1) How did it update itself? and how come I cannot update it in the old account without having to pay?!?
2) The new iMovie does not have the project I was working on. How can I restore that project? I was thinking of making the folders/files "share" so I can have access to it from the other account. Better ideas?
I need help ASAP i have a business project due and need to have full access to iMovies.

Internet explorer not loading entire web pages

I am having an issue with internet explorer only loading certain parts of select web pages, like espn fantasy football etc. Sometimes the information shows up but does not seem to be formated correctly, the information is low on the page and cannot read certain things. Can anyone help

In addition to what Ron JACKLE & Elizabeth already stated, because IE is no longer supported, you should be using the latest version of IE:
Internet Explorer 5.1.7 for Mac OS 8.1 to 9.x
Give it loads of memory. 300% is strongly recommended as it is memory starved.
Because IE is no longer supported & if you wish to continue using it, you will need to babysit it and give it TLC & do a voodoo dance every week to keep it running smoothly. This is the main reason why I got rid of it. I don't have time for this BS.
Once a week in IE Edit>Preferences, delet History, Empty Cache (if you have cable set Cache to 0).
Once a week Go into the system folder>preferences folder & trash the following preferences:
finder
ASLM
PPC Registration Database
Cache.waf-found inside the MS Internet Cache folder
MRJ Cache folder-a new one will be recreated.(If not found go to System folder>Application Support>MRJ Cache folder-trash all you find inside-(DO NOT TRASH THIS FOLDER)
Download Cache-found inside Explorer Folder
Downloads.html-found inside Explorer Folder
History.html-found inside Explorer Folder
Rebuild your desktop w/extensions off. Use Techtool Lite or Trash*Desktop - may delete Finder comments to rebuild your desktop w/extensions off. Does a better job than manually & you avoid all the finger gymnatics. You just have to hold down the shift key to shut off extensions.
Restart to turn the extensions back on again & empty the trash.

If the above does not work, then dump the %#&*X@ & check out other Mac browsers

Imovie not loading

when starting imovie. It searches for new iphoto clips then the color ball appears. ends up not responding.

iMovie 08 has problems with some codecs. Try this:
*Go to your Mac hardrive > Library > Quicktime*
and move any DivX, XviD, Perian and Flip4mac components to a folder in your desktop *(don't trash them).*
Try relaunching iMovie.
iMovie worked after this, in my case it was the *XviD_Codec 1.0 alpha.component* the one that was causing the problem.

The latest anorexic iMacs just announced do not even include a CD drive! Proof positive that Apple virtually prohibit the use of DVDs - although the newly announced Mac Minis do include a Superdrive.
Yet, they still include iMovie! Heaven alone knows or understands what you are supposed to do with your newly edited masterpiece - except make a low quality version for YouTube?

Take another look. A (nominal) 10 GB hard drive only has about 9.31 GB to begin with. The OS takes up some room, as do other applications.
Please check out how much space has been used and how much remains available.

IMovie 10.0.4 and 10.0.5 Will Not Load/Function

Had been using iMovie 10.0.2 or 10.0.3 (sorry don't remember which) perfectly fine. I updated to 10.0.4 and could not load the program. I updated to 10.0.5 and same thing. No change.
I basically get an empty startup screen and if i clicked Create New Movie, I just get an error telling me that "The operation could not be completed."

I also had this problem, but I solved after two hours of searching solution on the internet. Solution is very simple. You need to delete all files from your iMovie Library. Before You delete them, backup your files if You have important videos. After that You can paste into iMovie Library videos or just import in app and spend next hours with our lovely program.

Clips do not load into iMovie Project Browser

I have imported a full feature Creative Commons movie into iMovie to edit for a short music video. It downloaded in MP4 format and originally loaded into the Project browser but would not let me split clips. I've tried converting it to .MOV in MPEG Streamclip and now the clips don’t even show up in the Project Browser. I see the clips in the Event Browser but they will not load into Project Browser. I've tried converting it to .MOV in Quicktime where I was able to split a clip. I then tried to import that whole movie file into iMovie but it won’t import. What am I doing wrong?

When I have the iMovie Library (with the sub-file which iMovie-generated titled of “2015”) selected in the Sidebar the clips show in the Event Browser window but not in Project Browser window. The sub-file to “2015” is my movie name. When I select this file, the Event Browser goes black with white-lettered words: “No clips found.” There are no clips in the Project Browser as well.

My iMovie 09 will not load.

I can see everything, but once I click on something, the rainbow loading circle starts and says iMovie isn't responding. If I click on the play button fast enough, it will play my project, but I cannot edit anything anymore. It was working fine about 3 days ago and now it won't do anything. I currently have iMovie 8.0.6. Do I need to buy a newer version?

Imovie 09 (8.0.6) does not load iphoto picture library anymore

I had a double change,
1st: imovie update to 8.0.6 2nd: a new external hard disc for iphoto and imovie (the previous disc died).
since then imovie shows the video's from iphoto in the event library, but does not load the pictures from iphoto in the picture library. it keeps stating loading iphoto pictures, but they never appear

Hi - I have a very similar problem I think.
Just bought a new iMac and have latest versions of iMovie, iTunes and iPhoto - yes I have checked.
Trying iMovie for the first time - cannot see anything listed where they are supposed to be in the media browser window.
Looking at the intro to iMovie etc it clearly shows the folder structures - I get nothing showing at all.
Reading through the posts here it seems that there is a bug to be fixed.
Had a problem yesterday with my iPhone not showing in iTunes - an update cleared this problem.

IDVD not loading imovie projects

I have made many movies via imovie and idvd yet this time, when I opened idvd to burn my movie, the wheel just spins around and idvd fails to load my processed project. It recognizes all other movies in my Movie folder (including iTunes, archived and backed up movies on other drives) but NOT the two that are in IMovie. I have followed the same steps as always and shared the project via Media Browser. However, all I get in Idvd is the spinning wheel as it looks for my projects. I reset the preferences to look in the iMovie folder but this does not help. I went to this folder directly and used drag and drop to insert the movie to burn to disc and hopefully this works. But what gives that the projects are not loading into the Media pane? Any suggestions as what the problem might be?

To test if - trash pref file is right You can Safely do
• Start a new User-Account (Apple / System pref/set-up / Accounts
• Log out and into this
• Try iDVD - Does it now beheave - then trashing iDVD.pref file can be of big help (in original Account)
Delete iDVD pref file
• Delete iDVD pref. file - or rather start a new user/account - log into this and re-try
iDVD pref. file resides.
Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences
and is named.
com.apple.iDVD.plist
While iDVD is NOT RUNNING - move this file out to desk-top.
Now restart iDVD.
If You run Mac OS X.7 or more - then the Library in the User-account folder is invisibly and need to be set to be viewable. IT IS NOT in the Library on Root level (when opening MacintoshHD - first window = root level)
( It can be done like this: Open Terminal, then enter: chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press return, then restart, and it will always be visible until the next major update, when you do the same thing again. )

Issues with imovie scrren loading

I am trying to load Imovie to play some of the projects I have created and be able to create new projects. I open the program and the file does not load, the bar on top loads and says that Imovie is active however, the imovie picture adding area does not pop-up and does seem to load at all. any ideas?

Ouch. I'm having the same problem. It is VERY annoying. Was hoping for a solution on here.
I find it is worse when I import 1080p from my camera. When I use 1080p, I can't even adjust the speed of large cuts (60 seconds) because iMovie will just freeze up on playback. Restarting iMovie will revert the clip back to normal speed but the same bug occurs when I try to adjust speed. I find I can break a long clip up into short sections (which makes no sense as iMovie optimizes the entire clip) and adjust speed on 5 second segments without and issue.
The playback is the most annoying. I don't know if it is worth exporting a movie, which takes time in HD, if it doesn't work on preview.
ANY fix for this?

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Movie not loaded on Win 7 - 64bit

However i have been unable to resolve this issue as the previous poster was.
i have completed 3 separate OS installs of windows 7 (2-64bit installs and 1-32bit install). However i have been unable to resolve my flash problems. Here is the details:
System:
-AMD x2 athlon
-Asus m2-a vm motherboard
-6gb ddr2 ram
-realtek 1gb nic
-xfx nvidia 9600gt
- windows 7
-IE 8/9 attempted
-Chrome attempted
I have so far been unable to get the flash player to load at all. I have tried to load the offline installer as admin user context, and no luck [when i say load i mean the flash player itself, installation of flash has succeeded everytime without issues as have uninstallations.] . I have tried older installers with no luck. i have also tried different browsers. not one combination has worked. I've tried clearing settings on the local 32-bit control panel. However I can't disable the hardware rendering because of the fact it never loads the applet on any of the status pages for me to access.
At current, i have reloaded windows 7 64-bit and am looking for a more in depth answer to see if any ini files or reg settings exist for setting these to software only rendering. However I am not entirely convinced that this is the problem. I think the problem maybe more related to the player specifically not loading the movies or not even properly running the appropriate installed dll`s.
Before you ask, latest nvidia drivers loaded and flash is enabled in add-ons as many of the others have suggested. Please help, this has eaten up a week of my mind now.
Also should note all MS important patches are installed as of 4/8/2012 - and Service Pack 1 is installed on Windows. I've also just completed installing IE 9 on this fresh build of windows 7 64-bit. I've also installed Chrome, this morning and it also received the error "movie not loaded". I'm also using the latest version of 64-bit FLASH (11.x.x.x.x) version that was downloaded this morning.
So I'm now at a stopping point. I cannot use Amazon at all, or Youtube. It appears to load the plugin on some level as I can see the youtube videobox in black and then when I try to right click, it shows "About Adobe Flash 11.xx.x.x.x" or "Movie not loaded"... Thanks again for any assistance you can provide on this.
Update:
After much looking on the forums, I'm now attempting to verify with another functional PC that the actual files are present. I've found that the following files are present on the working system:
The system having the problems appears to be missing alot of these files. The OCX is the only file present. I'm going to see if I can verify what happened here. So hopefully this won't recur. However it looks like there maybe an issue with the installer at this time. I can't imagine how thougth when I've tried downloading the full offline installation version.

This computer has two different versions of Flash Player for Internet Explorer and two different versions of Flash Player for other browsers.
A clean install is recommended:
Windows
Download the current 32 bit uninstaller Uninstaller for 32 bit Operating Systems
Close all browser windows and run the uninstaller
Restart Windows
Delete all remaining files and folders located in the following directories. (tip: copy and paste these paths into the path bar in an Explorer window)
C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flas
%appdata%\Adobe\Flash Player
%appdata%\Macromedia\Flash Player
Verify that the file “FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl” in C:\Window\system32\ for 32 bit systems has been deleted.
Download the following installer files:
32 bit Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
32 bit Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Physically disconnect from the Internet and run the installers.
