IMovie on iPad 2 will not export to camera roll

I just put together a 6 1/2 minute iMovie on my iPad 2, and I cannot export it to the camera roll (in any resolution). There are a lot of videos, photos (taken with three different Canon digital cameras, panoramic pictures created with the Autostitch application, and photo montages created with the Montage application. The videos include very long segments (1 minute plus) of which I am only using 6-7 seconds. The progress bar when attempting to export shows no progress, even after hours of working on the video. Occasionaly, iMovie says it cannot export the movie.
Any ideas about what is wrong?
I can export simple, small movies, but this was a pretty ambitious project, and I'm not having any luck with it.
Albert

It turns out that imovie does not like to have too many video clips. When you have too many video clips, and you trim them significantly, there are rendering problems if the part of the clip you trimmed overlaps past (either before or after in time) the clips on either side of the problematic clip. If you end up trimming your clips that are imported into iMovie, then everything seems to work fairly well. This is pretty lake, because when I do a quick and dirty edit of a single 15 minute mountain biking segment down to two minutes, everything seems to work fine.

No, it will only reset what it says it will reset.
Resetting settings will remove all the customised settings you have made anywhere on the device. Resetting network settings will reset all your network info including saved networks. etc etc. None these will do anything to your camera roll etc.

iMovie for my iPad and iPhone will not export movies how do I fix this?

Same here. Have exported a handful of movies before..faced this issue for the first time a few days ago. What footage are you trying to edit and export? (E.g. Shot with camera app, other social media apps like Snapchat, Vine, Instagram?)
    I did some troubleshooting..
I was putting together all saved videos from Snapchat.. no luck. Export screen comes up, but progress bar doesn't move.
Mixed some footage in there shot with actual iPhone camera app.. no luck.
Removed all Snapchat footage.. it worked straight away.
BUT ... it would make sense if I didn't just compile a bunch of Snapchat vids a few weeks ago and export them just fine?
So it's something to do with the actual footage I assume?

  • IMoviemobile export to Camera Roll will not play with quicktime on PC (video plays but with black screen, audio ok)

Videos created in iMovie on the new ipad will not play on PC with Quicktime after being exported to the Camera Roll and copied to the PC. Movie will play but with a black screen only. Audio ok. Was able to do before ios 6 but not now.

I'm having the same problem. All of the movies I export out of iMovie since upgrading to the latest version show up with no video, only audio, in Quicktime. Ironically the video place just fine in Windows Media Player and also in iTunes.

  • Will not:  rotate screen, camera will not work, iPad will not turn off, sound on side.

Ipad will not turn off, sound button does not work, camera does not work,  screen will not rotate.  Have new ios and update.

    Reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset.

  • When I try to log on to Facebook, My iPad will not recognize my password, and I get an error code 190. What is it and why do I get it?

When I try to log onto Facebook, my iPad will not recognize my password, and I get an error code 190, but I can log on on my HP desktop. What is code 190, and why do I get it?

I was using the FB app that came with the iPad. What I eventually did was.
    1. Held down both home key and on-off button until iPad shut down, then rebooted.
    2. Uninstalled FB app.
    3. Went to App Store and re-installed FB app.
The iPad had numerous problems. My son saw my plea on FB as I was accessing it through my HP computer, and he walked me through it. While he was at it, he taught me how to disconnect auto-correct. I am not certain that I want to keep that off, but everything is working the way it is supposed to  the way it was in the beginning.
I am curious, though, as to what ears to the problem in the first place. After checking various sites, it seems that a code 190 has to do with windows not Apple.
But thank you for the response.

  • TS3274 ipad will not charge when USB cord connected to PC or socket.

When i plug the USB cord to either electrical socket or computer.  ipad will not charge.  Says NOT CHARGING.  Please HELP.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Solution when iMovie or FCE will not import AVCHD files or MTS files

Problem: iMovie or FCE will not import your footage from SDHC camera with files in AVCHD structure, or cannot import .mts or .m2ht files (which you may have copied from AVCHD structure. When mounting camera, you can see the camera as disk but iMovie will not try to import footage. If you point Final Cut Express (FCE) to the file structure, it fails to recognize it as a valid file structure. (I have Canon HF10, but understand that this problem is common on many camera models, maybe camera has been turned off at the wrong moment?)
Cause: Faulty file structure on camera or disk
Soultion: Rebuild AVCHD file structure using an AVCHD editing tool. I found multiAVCHD (multiavchd.deanbg.com), which is not perfect, but will do the job. And it is freeware (possible to donate).
I would like comments about others experience - but at least this worked for me:
    - Download and install the software (Yes, you need Windows)
    - Set the right parameters: mostly default, I didn´t want any recoding. But tick off to keep the source files!
    - Select the AVCHD source (or source .mts or m2ts files) and destination
    - Start rebuilding: select output for Sony Playstation 3
    - Put the AVCHD file structure on a USB stick
    *If using iMovie:*
Start iMovie and plug the USB into the mac (virtual disk (.dmg file) or other media should work fine as well). The USB may contain other files as well, but the root of AVCHD must be named AVCHD.
iMovie recognizes the drive as a camera. All is not 100% well, as the dates for making the footage is lost, and the thumbnails are distorted if seen at all, until clicked on. But then import worked for most clips. Some clips gave an error message, but FCE was able to import these (Log&transfer).
*If using FCE:* Use Log and transfer on this file structure (need not be on external disk)
If you have a better solution - please share! I suppose there are other tools out there which may correct the file structure with less side effects and no errors.
If you go for this solution - remember the author of multiAVCHD, he will surely appreciate a donation. I guess everybody will agree that this is worth at least as much as you paid for your SDHC card.
Why a function to correct faulty file structure is not included in iMovie and FCE is beyond my understanding!
I notice many users salvage their footage by converting the .MTS files, using Handbrake etc. But I believe rebuilding the file structure is faster and with no quality reduction.

    Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone is still subscribed to this and can help.
I have a Sony HDR-SR10. Yesterday I was able to connect it to my iMac by USB and view all the footage in the import window of iMovie (08).
Last night, to save time sorting at home, I took it to work with me and using the software that came with the camera installed on a Windows PC went through to see which files were rubbish and could be deleted before importing to speed up the transfer on to my mac.
Today, my Mac won't recognise the Camera!?!?!?!
Have I inadvertently reformatted the .MTS files or the camera itself, to windows or something? CanI change it back??
I'm currently creating a new disk image of the camera on my Mac in the vain hope that it will work and be recognised by the Mac as a camera. I can see from the progress box the following text:
    Creating Image "Sony Camcorder Media.dmg"
    =====Progress Bar=====
    Reading (WindowsFAT32 :1)...
Which is why I think I've done something seriously wrong!! .. because it mentions windows!
    HELP! HELP! HELP!
I have my entire honeymoon and the first year of my son on this camera and I want to edit with iMovie! Especially as I just paid for iLife 09 upgrade!

  • Ipad will not show in devices

  • HT4623 How come my Ipad will not turn on????

How come my ipad will not turn on for no reason i couldn't turn it back on?

It could be the battery has completely drained. Plug the iPad in the charger that came with it and plug that into a good wall outlet. Wait one hour. It may take that long for the iPad to respond. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
If the iPad restarts let it continue to charge until the battery is at 100%.
If it does not restart you might have experienced some sort of hardware failure. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

That would be the indication of Recovery Mode. You can try instructions from this support document. If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If you attempt it a couple of times and it does not complete, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store, or Apple Service Provider to check for hardware problems.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

my Ipad will not charge and Ihave booted it and still no chargeing tryed computer and wall plug

The best way to charge an iPad is to use the charger that came with it connected to a known good wall outlet. The following might be the problem.
    No power in the outlet.
Bad charger unit. Try a different charger.
Bad cable. Try a know good cable.
Dirt in the connector on the iPad. Check and clean.
A fault in the charging software. Reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

I have done a hard reset and even put it in recovery mode and was able to do a restore but it will only show dead battery logo or charging. Any ideas?

Also I was not having any battery problems before this. It would last all day with a generous amount of use.
