This worked fine in earlier versions of Firefox and works in Safari.

Could be either a Quicktime plugin issue or a problem with the Mobile me page again.

Click on the troublesome source file in the FCP Browser, and once it is selected, type Command + 9 to see the Item Properties for the clip. Either report what those properties are, or take a screen shot and post that screen shot here (by clicking on the little camera icon in the reply pane to add the image to your post) if that is easier.
Then, click anywhere on your sequence timeline, and type Command + 0 {zero} to see your sequence settings. QuickTime .mov plays upside-down in Windows Media Player

I know the cause of this: If you record using an iPhone with the volume buttons pointed at the ceiling, the resulting video plays upside-down in Windows Media Player. QuickTime is smart enough to correct and rotate automatically. Not so WMP. I have several clips that were recorded with the volume buttons pointed up. If I use QuickTime Player to rotate the clips, then they are correct when viewed in WMP, but upside-down in QuickTime Player!
Is there any way to fix these clips so they are right-side up in both worlds? Or is there no choice but to re-record everything with iPhone's volume buttons pointed at the floor?

Your assumptions are only partially correct. When you record the clip on your iPhone, the clip is recorded just as you see it in the WMP—i.e., upside down. What the iPhone does is records an addition file value that tells Apple media players which edge to display as the "top" during playback. Since third-party media players ignore this value, they display the clip in its original orientation which, in your case is upside down. When you flip the video orientation using QT 7 Pro, you're telling QT media players to play the file with an "upside down" orientation. By exporting the "flipped" orientation, you are, in fact, re-encoding the original "upside down" to a "right-side up" display but simultaneously telling all Apple media players to play the file upside down.
Is there any way to fix these clips so they are right-side up in both worlds? Or is there no choice but to re-record everything with iPhone's volume buttons pointed at the floor?
Actually, you can do either. That is, you can either "fix" the original recordings or re-record the the clips in a manner that avoids this problem. To "fix" your original files, simple open the files in an Apple media player (like QT 7 Pro) and export the files. The player will note the current "top" orientation and re-encode the content using the current display orientation for both QT and third-party players.

Creative vision m: transferred downloaded video is playing upside down and mirrow

I have a creative vision m and when transfering downloaded video, playback is upside down and mirrowed... HOW DO I PREVENT THIS? quality is great and sound is great.

And that would be the de-interlacing artifacts on fast moving changes, as with transitions, sails flapping, flower petals falling etc.. I have not figured out why the "noise" appears yet in just certain HD projects, but what we found was that after we uploaded to youtube (and all of our stuff goes there with the rest of the garbage), that artifact went away. That was a case of "garbage in, amrita out." It also goes away (somewhat) when we burn to DVD. But the artifact only popped up after we certified FCS3 on Snow Leopard. Now everyone is shaking their heads. Perhaps this is related...

I have Apple O/S 10.6.7 and Firefox 4 and when I play a homemade slideshow/movie from my webgallery it plays correctly the first time, and then play upside down after that, unless I shut down Firefox and then restart it...why?

I discovered this incompatibility (?) with the help of a Sr. Advisor from Apple. I have uninstalled Firefox and the plist and reinstalled it and the same thing happened. Is there something that I can to do circumvent this problem?

After installing the Quicktime 7.6 Plug-in all my MobileMe Gallery movies display upside down

This issue is only in FF 4.0.
I have a 2010 Intel iMac with Mac OS 10.6.7.
I create an iMovie, upload to MobileMe Gallery, a window opens asking if I'd like to 'View' the new movie, I click 'View'.
After opening my MME Gallery in FF4.0 my movie is displayed and plays upside down and backwards. All my other movies (48 of them) are also the same.
After discussions with Apple MME Support I find that my movies are displayed properly in my 'logged in' area only, when I try to play any Gallery movie it becomes upside down/backwards.

IMovie imports .mov file upside down?

I shot some video with my iPhone, turned the phone sideways to shoot landscape. The video shot fine, played back fine. It even imported into my iPhoto and plays back correctly. The icon is right-side-up. Everything seems to be perfectly normal... until I import it into iMovie 6 HD. Then, the clip is upside down.
Can anybody help?

In iMovie’08 . You can turn in 90-deg steps and enlarg the picture (but not shrink)
• With a lot of disipline You can do this in QuickTime-Pro (in 90 deg steps + enlarge and shrink)
• In FinalCut (Express or Pro) this is childs play.
Put video on new video track. Turn on Image + Wireframe and grab one of the corners to rotate (increments of a degree or to a full 360 turn) and change size (enlarge or shrink) at Your likeing.
Both in QT and FC (E or P) You can do picture in picture or even video walls.

Also, MPEG Streamclip can rotate video while maintaining the aspect ratio as well as the interlacing when converting to DV, which is what iMovie prefers as an input.

Bengt is right that there is no rotate feature in iMovie itself. But you can import them into iPhoto. Click the edit button, and then rotate them there. Then import them back into iMovie.

HT4623 While downloading a movie from my Seagate wi-fi to my iPad it plays in a mirror mode and upside down even when I try to rotate.

Playing a movie on my iPad 2 from my Seagate Plus using the wi-fi it plays upside down and the wording is backward. Tried rotating the tablet just turns to the same orientation. If I play the same movie from theSeagate using the USB cable it plays fine on my computer. Is there a fix?

If the same website is opening each time you launch a browser (Safari?) hold down the shift key as you launch to prevent previous pages from opening.
Have a look at your settings in Safari > Preferences. Especially General and Privacy.
Reset Safari to remove cookies and other stored data.
System Preferences > General
Have a look at your settings in System Preferences > Security & Privacy.

Can not view mobile me gallery videos on IPHONE

Can any body tell me why i can not view my mobile me gallery videos on my Iphone? When i bring up my gallery on my phone it only shows some of my posted video not all of them and the time has 0:00. If you try and play it you get an error message.

When you send an email announcement for others to view a MM gallery, you can Bcc yourself with the message - to your MM address.
If you store all sent messages on the server, you can access the sent message in your MM account's Sent mailbox. This will provide you the link to your MM gallery, which you can bookmark for later use or create a web clip which will be placed on your iPhone's Home screen for faster access.

Slideshow on mobile me gallery

What is the easiest way to post a slideshow (with itunes music) on my mobile me gallery?

Here's how to easily get a slideshow (one converted to a QT movie) online to be viewed:
1 - export the slideshow via the File->Export->Slideshow. Select either Medium or Large for the size.
2 - import that QT movie file into iPhoto.
3 - create an album and add the QT movie
4 - select that album and click on the MobileMe button in the lower toolbar of iPhoto. If it's not there go to View->Toolbar and select MobileMe.
5 - select the options in the drop down window in iPhoto and hit the Publish button.
That's it. Once the gallery is published you'll get a URL for it and can send that URL to those who you want to view it.
If you would like to have multiple sizes in the gallery for access by computers and cell phones import the QT movie into iMovie and export it to MobileMe. You'll get a MMe gallery with up to 4 sizes like this one:iMovie to MMe Gallery.

FCE to Mobile Me Gallery

I edit my Standard Def video in FCE, export a QT movie reference file using current setting out of FCE and bring it into imovie 09 so I can post my video to my mobile me gallery. I'm pretty disappointed with the quality once it is up on mobile me. I know I'm still shooting standard def footage, and high def wouldn't degrade so quickly, but it seems like my video looks normal out of FCE, but bringing my reference file into imovie, it seems like the video gets degraded and posting to mobile me, the video gets degraded yet another time. Final result, very degraded standard def video.
A couple of questions:
1. Does my workflow make since? Is there a better way of doing this without all the degrading steps?
2. Is imovie looking at the original file which is 7.5gb even though my reference file is 350mb? Or is the degraded image I see in imove due to me using a reference file instead of a self contained file.
I know this is a FCE forum, but I'm assuming other FCE users are using imovie to post to mobile me.

I've found the HG21 to be a great camcorder if you're looking for an AVCHD workflow. It works well for recording both interlaced and progressive 1920x1080 footage, both of which are fully supported by FCE. The built-in mic is acceptable, and the manual focus is excellent. The camera shoots extremely clear quality footage in well lit environments but like many AVCHD cameras doesn't fare as well in low-light. Since AVCHD is transcoded to AIC upon ingest, you'll need to make sure you have a large external media drive to store your footage on. Here's a couple videos I recorded with it and edited in FCE in case you're interested in seeing what it can produce:

Problem using email to upload image files to Mobile Me gallery

I will cross post this question to both Mail and Mobile Me discussion groups because I don't know where my problem lies.
I have published a gallery page from iPhoto to my Mobile Me gallery. There are two ways to upload additional photos. I am not having trouble adding image files with the Upload feature. I cannot get the email function to work. The emails I send to the email address for the gallery bounce back to my mail inbox.

One of the images I am trying to attach is a jpeg file of 61 kb.
I have tried to drag the image from my desktop to the body of the email. I have tried using the "attach" function and selecting the file name. I am not sending any text with these files.
When I built these albums, I checked and enabled all the options.
I am having this same issue when I try to upload via email to any of my Mobile Me gallery pages.
There is currently one photo displayed here:

If anyone wishes to try to upload to that gallery using email (Send to Album) that would be great and if successful, that might provide a clue to my problem.
As I say, I currently have one photo there. If you find a lot more, please do not add.

The images I am trying are newly created and old.
A weird hint perhaps...
I just copied an image from Apple's home page and pasted it into the email and tried again...
it worked.
So I tried again, dragging from iPhoto and it did not work... the email bounced back.
So I tried again, this time using copy and paste (like I did from Apple's page) from iPhoto... it did not work.

Exporting videos to Mobile Me gallery not working

I have a Mobile Me album in Aperture 3 which only synchronizes photos. Everytime I try to upload a video to the Mobile Me gallery, Aperture hangs during the synchronization process.

Something that works for me; drag the file you want to iMovie and upload from there. It is an extra step, but a lot less agrivation and it works.
