IMovie, resolution problem importing picture.

Dear all,
When I imprt pictures in iMovie the resolution of the picture became very low. Does somebody knows if there is any setting that allow the import of higher resolution picture? It seems to be a common problem. I've ask in an Apple store with no solution. Thanks for the help

Thanks but this does not clarify my question,
just to be clear, I'm talking about pictures from iPhoto or from other. Is in iMovie present a setting to allow to have a hiher quality of the imported photo or not?

Problem importing pictures into lightroom 5.4 on a Mac.

I have lighroom 5.4 on a Mac and I am having some trouble importing pictures into my library on lightroom. The other day I was trying to import some from another folder in my computer and the files were showing up empty (although they were not). And today I was trying to import from an SD card and I was having the same problem. I shoot in raw on a Nikon. So what can I do to fix this problem?

Ask in the LR forum and provide exact technical info - "I shot raw on Nikon" and "on a Mac" is not.

Problem importing pictures & videos

I had taken some video this past weekend and need to send to someone. I tried to email it right from my phone but it said the file is too large. So I plugged my phone in to my computer because I figured I would just import all of my pic & videos and send what I needed straight from my computer. Unfortunately, my computer didn't import all of my pictures & videos. Any idea why? I tried to unplug the USB cord and try it again but it isn't evening opening up the option to import pictures. Help please!

Well lets see. If you take a video and its a HD setting it is quite large. However all is not lost. I use GMail to send high quality vudeo and photos. Please remember many isp's will not accept a file in excess of 10 MB so even if you can send it does not mean the file exceeds message will not be sent.
I don't own your make of phone but my friend has one, he hooks it via the usb cable that came with the phone to his computer and its set for usb mass storage. It shows up as another drive letter when connected.
his photos are in a file called DCIM and he has another folder called pictures which has his photos. There is also videos on this internal memory of which he transfers to his home computer.
You might want to get a file browser like Astro in the Google Play Store to check all the folders for your photo and videos.

Please help! Problems importing pictures from iphoto

I'm making a slideshow of pictures of my family with iMovieHD. Everything was working great and I have about 7 minutes of video. I tried to import another picture from the media/photos area and now the photo shows up as horizontal lines of various colours. (Similar to the way a tv looks when not tuned into a channel properly). I tried importing the picture as a clip, and the same thing happened. This happens with ANY photo I try to add to the timeline now. I've restarted my computer and updated the software. Have I used up too much memory?

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I tried following the instructions by inserting a still clip at the beginning of my movie. Unfortunately, the Kenburns clip that I want to insert still shows up as horizontal moving colour lines. I noticed that the article you suggested was geared towards iMovie 4 (not HD) and said the problem had vertical black and white lines (not coloured horizontal). I tried reimporting the picture, but the same problem still occurs. Any new picture that I want to insert into the timeline does this! What's wrong with my computer?

Problem importing pictures from my Iphone 4s to Iphoto on my IMac

usually when I plug my Iphone 4S into my IMAC, Iphoto pops up and I can then import all of my photos with the option of deleting off my phone afterwards. But the past two days when I plug my phone in, it wont open iphoto automatically or upload my pics due to a problem uploading an image? also when I maunally open Iphoto I can click on the my iphone folder but instead of seeing pictures, all I can see are grey squares that represent my pics and videos...
please help!!!

Does Image Capture see your iPhone Photos correctly? Try, if you can import them using Image Capture.
If not, you will need to troubleshoot your iPhone.

What kind of media do you have in your camea roll? Only jpegs, or also raw images or videos that might be complicating matters?

Problem Importing Pictures

Used iPhoto for over 5000 pictures. Now it's saying there's an unrecognized format or error downloading an image everytime i try to import. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've done nothing different and I am using a Iphone 5

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
from where are you downloading from?
exactly when and where does the message come up?
can you provide a screenshot of the message?
what fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

IMOVIE 6 PROBLEM IMPORTING FROM A/D CONVERTER

I have a number of VHS tapes to put on DVDs -- when importing them through a Pyro A/D converter, everything is fine except that at about 40 minutes in I get a message which says "You are running dangerously low on hard drive space .........".
The space monitor in the lower corner says about 100GB available when this is happening. I spent about an hour with Apple Tech support but nothing fixed the problem.
Any suggestions will be sincerely appreciated.

Try an early version of iMovie say iMovie3.0.3
I use a Sony Handycam Digital8- the one with TAPE.-but the more expensive one with input options.
You will need to break up input to maximum of 9 minutes for this version of iMovie to work.
I used iMovie5 with this interface to import from a VHS player, so you may be better off using iMovie version 5.

Problem importing pictures thru iphoto onto an external hardrive.

I just filled up my computer with pictures but i'd like to be able to import them directly onto the external and be capable to still look at them on iphoto.
I'd appreciate if you can help.

Quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library as a single entity from the pictures folder on your boot drive to the external drive and launch iPhoto while depressing the option (alt) key - use the select library option to point to the iPhoto library you just copied to the external drive - test it for a while to be sure it is ok and then quit iPhoto and trash the iPhoto library on your boot drive - relaunch iPhoto and test one more time before you empty the trash

Problem importing pictures from camera with Elements Organizer

I am using Elements Organizer from Photoshop Elements 9 (Mac OS 10.6.8). Recently, the files imported from my camera are being stored on my hard drive with the permissions set so that only the owner of the files can read them. Previously, anyone could read them. I must have accidentally changed something in Elements Organizer.
How do I set things back to how they were so that everyone can read the files imported from the camera? Is there a way to reset the default settings for Elements Organizer?
I can get around this by setting the permissions for the folder of pictures from the Terminal window, but this requires that I remember to do so after each import.

TA27468 Problem importing pictures with a Nikon D800 into a MacbookPro Retina

I have this problem with a Nikon D800 when importing into a MacbookPro Retina ... I have enough free space, I can always import a batch of files from 10-100 (varying randomly), then get this "unreadable file" error message. Very frustrating.

What version of iPhoto? Importing Raws? Jpegs?
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
Post back with the result.

Just upgraded to Yosemite having problem importing pictures from iPhoto from 10.6.8

Unable to get to all my photos from iPhoto (10.6.8) into Photo on Yosemite. Help.

I am not sure of the version of iphoto that I had, but I think it was the one that came with 10.6.8
Some of my old photos came in as "sharing" and some in photos. I just let the migration happen during the installation process. I like the old iphoto appl. better than this new one. I don't have a need to sych with other apple devices or some of the other bells and whistles.
Not much help, Is there a way to get a newer version of iphoto and forget about "photo"?

I have an iPhone 5s. My computer is a Windows, with the Windows 8 OS. I have never had a problem importing pictures from my iPhone to my computer until recently. Now, whenever I try, I get this error message:
The following error occurred while importing IMG_1022.JPG:
The system cannot find the path specified.
What do you want to do?
Try again
Skip this file
Skip all files with errors"
I have tried again. I have tried skipping files. Either way, the photos and video will not import from my phone. It is filled up now and I cannot download anything else, or take any more pictures, until I get these files off the phone.
Does anyone have any ideas?

1. Could you explain a bit about the sentence ‘installing multiple printers from the portal’ ?
2. Check the event viewer and share us the related error log.
Please take the following steps for troubleshooting:

Problem for import picture of sony nex-5 with lightroom 5

I have Lr 5 on os X and I don't understand when I import picture of Sony NEX-5, my pixel size is 4592 x 2576 instead of 4592 x 3056.
So the picture render is cut only on lightroom and is good on mode preview on Mac

Yesterday I found a similar post about the same issue with a new Canon camera. They fixed the problem by copying the files from the camera to a folder on the computer. Then they loaded the files into AP3 from the folder. Great news; it worked!!
Thank you for your thoughts on iMovie as I had not tried to download movie content yet. You prompted me to do a little trial. No problem. iMovie 08 read the ACVHD movie and it looks great.

Using the new iMovie and importing pictures from iPhoto, why are some of my pictures blurry?

I Know this topic has been discussed before, but I couldn't find anything recent about this. I have iMovie opened & I'm putting the pictures in. In iPhoto the pictures are clear, but when moved to iMovie, become blurry. I know it has to do with the resolution of the picture but I can't find where to change it at

As far as I know, you can't change it: first, your photo is probably a .jpg and iMovie will be adapting it to a video file which will result in somewhat of a loss of quality and second, if your original picture is small, it cannot be enlarged without significant loss of quality as it will get blurry while the individual pixels are being made larger - that depends on your camera settings and its photo output size. So it could be either or both of those that is the problem here. Check your camera and see what size you are taking your pictures in.

Removing Black Bars on iMovie Projects (Aspect Ratio / Resolution Problem)

I jusr recently recorded a video using fraps on my PC while playing World of Warcraft. I've transfered this over to my mac to import into iMovie and upon importing the file (using a DV Widescreen profile) there are two black bars on either side of the video.
I believe this is because my monitor is using a different aspect ratio (max resolution is 1680x1050, in otherwords not 16:9 as the profile indicates).
How can I configure iMovie to conform to the aspect ratio of the origional imported video? I know if I import the video and get it edited to the final version I want to encode, there is an option using the Divx codec to remove these bars - But i'd like to keep the video using the H.264/.Mov standards (Divx looks like crap IMO!)
Any suggestions?
