Imovie sound disappears using facetime??

I tried to record using Facetime and the blue bar has appeared for sound, but I cannot get it to play - the movie plays but without the audio! any help please?
I can seperate the audio so I know its there, but for some reason I cannot hear it. I have the new Imovie
Also how can I avoid this problem in the future?

Some follow up. I finally shut down the project, repaired permissions and threw away the imove.plist. Not sure which action helped, but when I reopened it I had music, but not my changes adding chapter titles. Not a big deal to fix.

Lose sound while using facetime

While using FaceTime, the person I am talking to loses the ability to hear me. I still hear them! Video is great. This is from my IMAC. Any ideas? If we hang up and they call me back it works for awhile but then the sound goes away again.   I am using my IMAC and they are using IPAD2.

Im having the same issue. done lots of hunting and can't find any fixes. just want to let APPLE know that this is a wide spread issue.

IMovie sound disappears and tool bar no longer works

I was updating an existing iMove project, adding chapters, and this put the sound out of sinc. I deleted some of the music clips, then all of the music stopped playing. Now basically none of the tools are working except the "Help" link. I can't even export it to a new file. I does say that I can open "Open Recent" under File and it lists my current project. I'm afraid if I try that I'll lose all my recent changes.
Any suggestons? I have 42GB available space, so I don't think that's the problem.

The sound goes out when using facetime on my macbookpro after a few minutes. How do I fix this?

I recently downloaded facetime to my macbookpro 13" with OS X Version 10.6.8. The app works fine for a few minutes, then the sound disappears. I have to close and relaunch the app before it starts working for another few minutes then all over again. Is there a fix for this???

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

Try turning down the speak volume (System Preferences->Sound->Output->Output Volume) or the microphone gain (System Preferences->Sound->Input->Input Volume). Do this on both sides of the call.

Try inserting and re-inserting your headphones 7 or 8 times. Also try cleaning out the headphone jack in case of debris that might be interfering with the connection/disconnection.

I can't answer your Thunderbird "configuration" questions, because I'm in the living room, using the crap Vista laptop, on which I plan to install Thunderbird, and then take Windoze Mail out in the street and drive over it a few times.. I'll get back to you one way or the other, and let you know if your instructions solved the problem, or not..
I don't understand why Thunderbird "out of the box", so to speak, simply doesn't forward HTML emails with embedded graphics, (like Outlook Excess, and Winblows Mail do).. without having to go through those steps. I personally HATE HTML email, but over the years, it's become more and more prevelant.. so it's a problem I must fix..

yes, that is exactly what mine did too. I noticed that something is wrong after receiving calls and did not hear anything.
It was like the IPhone did not realize that the headphone is not any longer plugged in. I m not sure weather I plugged/unplugged the headphones after this more than once but it startet working correctly.

After updating my ipad2, i can't hear the the sounds when using YouTube or Skype ..but can able to hear them when I'm using FaceTime.

I can only hear the sounds of music, videos or skype when I'm using the FaceTime, but when I end the call of FaceTime I can't hear the sounds anymore or play music.

The other person could have dust in their Mic hole. Use a vacuum to remove the dust.

Recently, I found with iPad Mini w/o Retina, iOS 7.0.4, the sound comes only from left side of my earphone when listening music, watching YouTube videos, even playing system sound. But the sound come from both sides when using FaceTime.
Earphone is not broken. Plug completely into the audio jack. This problem only shows up recently, worked fine weeks ago.

But the audio dropout problem STINKS. PLEASE FIX IT.
Seriously, there should be an easy software fix to prevent the auto-volume control from dropping one party's sound so low that it is inaudible. You can do SIRI for crying out loud, surely you can FIX THIS.

I frequently talk to a friend using Facetime, but occasionally my friend's audio disappears. When that happens, our only recourse is to switch to Skype. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be? My friend's Mac is a fairly recent iMac running Lion 10.7.5. My iMac is running Mountain Lion 10.8.2.
