IMovie Theater not syncing

Hi,
I am having a problem syncing iMovie Theater. I created three clips in FCPX on my Mac Pro. I copied the clips into iMovie Theater yesterday afternoon. After the clips uploaded I could view the clips on my AppleTV. I noted that I could not view them on my iPad. My iPad shows an old clip I created in iMovie that I deleted. So, for some reason my iPad is not syncing. I checked my iPhone this morning and the clips appear in iMovie Theater on my iPhone. When I open iMovie Theater on my MBP, the clips have not synced and the old deleted clip appears like it does on my iPad.
The clips are quite short, less than 3 minutes each and they are under 20MB each.
To summarize:
1) AppleTV and iPhone sync
2) MBP and iPad do not sync
I have turned iMovie on and off in the iCloud drive settings on my MBP and this made no difference.
Any ideas?

Hello Phil, I have a similar situation. Mavericks on my Mac, Apple TV and iPad mini IOS current. Movies can be viewed on Apple TV Theater app but are not available on my iPad mini. I DID NOT buy the iMovie app for my iPad as I expect to be able to view(only) a movie as I view Photos on the mini. The iMovie app for the iPad would provide for movie editing/creation and I don't need or want that capability on my iPad.
So, I need/would like an icon on my mini (like Photos) that would provide access to the movies that iMovie(Mac) uploaded to iCloud.
By the way...iMovie is fantastic...creating a movie and viewing it on Apple TV was so easy. I'm very impressed.
Any insight on viewing iCloud movies via the iPad...anyone?

This functionality is intended to provide videos in your iMovie Theater to your iMovie Theater on other computers signed into the same iCloud account. Currently there is no way to view these videos from the cloud.
With iCloud, movies and trailers that you create with iMovie and share to the Theater automatically appear in iMovie Theater on your other devices.

Video in iMovie theater not uploading to iCloud

i am trying to upload my videos in iMovie theatre so it syncs across my other devices but it keeps stalling when I try to upload to iCloud and it never finishes uploading. My iPad is still on iOS 7 but my iPhone and Mac are on the latest operating System of iOS 8 .0 and Yosemite. Could this be the reason? Any ideas how to fix this?

OK, well that makes things easier because I wasn't sure if there was an issue with iMovie theatre after the iCloud Drive update with devices that won't run it. Since you haven't upgraded to iCloud Drive, I'm sure you shouldn't have an issue uploading from your Mac.
Could you describe exactly what happens, I sometimes see the progress bar complete but not actually disappear, next time I open iMovie the progress bar has disappeared and the movies are available on other devices so obviously they do complete.
The other thing to consider is whether this is project specific. How many projects have you tried and have you tried compiling a real simple and short project to upload for test purposes.
Is your Mac connected to the network with ethernet or wifi.

Not all Video visible on iMovie Theater is visible on AppleTV! ???

I created Video Clips of iPhoto Slideshows (originally from an iPhoto Album with pix and videos) and "shared" them to iMovie Theater on the iMac. So far, so good. Three video clips are visible on the iMac (iMac>iMovie>iMovie Theater)
But one video of these 3 clips is NOT visible on the AppleTV (2nd gen.) although it used to be visible there.
What did I do wrong? Please help me understand this problem. I have read Apple's iMovie background: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14731?viewlocale=en_US and think I have done everthing correctly.

I just realized that the same 1 videoclip is NOT visible in the Theater tab of iMovie for iOS on the iPhone (4S).
Summary:
3 videoclips visible on the iMac, but only 2 clips on AppleTV and on the iPhone.

I think I found the answer to my own question:
The Videos that are visible on the iMac, but invisible on the iOS devices, are OVER 15 MINUTES: the max. length to upload to iCloud (and hence to other devices) is 15 minutes.
Should I award myself the 10 points for finding a solution to my question? :-) Why not!

Imovie on mac will not sync with devices

Imovies created on my imac and shared to theater are not showing up on my ipad as they're supposed to automatically. Why could this be?

Welcome to the Support Communities!
Have you downloaded the latest version of iMovie for iOS on your iPad? When you tap Theater at the top of your screen, do you see any of the movies you've sent there, or is the issue with specific movie(s).? Are the clips less than 15 min in length?

My iMovie projects in the iMovie theater will not play

Back story:
Well I have just updated imovie. I then had a lot of promblems with this "updated project" folder. So, to be safe I shared all my projects to itunes and the theater(. Then I delted that folder. All my projects were delted so, I was gald I shared them. My computer has been running faster now. But now I can only find 4 out of my 49 projects in itunes and the imovie theater. I can see them in the theater but they wuill not play. The drop down shows that I can do only two things with most of my projects, delte them or rename them. I notcied before I delted the folder that I could play 4 of them. I did not think that delting that folder would effect the sharing so I delted it. The number of playble pojects have not chaged in over a day.
Question:
I belive I have lost the projects because I delted "updated projects" before they were shrared compltly and they will never play. But can somene answer these questions?
-Can I get these projects to play in imovie theater?
-Can I retrive these files in another way?(ex. find them in another folder)
-Will they necver play so i should just delte the files.
I am sorry about my spelling.

I tried moving it to anohter file and it did not work. I control clicked on them and there was something that said purge cache for selection and I clicked that and now they all play. Thanks for your help though!

The sound does not sync with the new iMovie (In Mavericks)

I've finally managed to update my old projects to iMovie 10.0 but the sound does not sync.
Is it my computer (Mac Pro Late 2008) who can not cope with the new iMovie??
Could it be that my Graphics card can not be bothered with?

I have MacBook Pro!

IMovie appears to be picking a random frame from a project that it assigns as the Thumbnail/Poster for the final video that is shared via iMovie Theater. How does it choose this frame, and is there a way to change this? I cannot find this anywhere.

This question was posted back in 2013, and I'll having it today. Anyone know what the deal is with the system selecting a theater image with NO way to change it--better yet--has anyone figured out a way to change it? Not a clue, do you know wherethe theater files are located on a MAC?

The default location for the imovie Theater.theater package is in your user / Movies folder.

Audio and Video are not synced up ONLY when viewed in full screen....?

Audio and Video are not synced up only when I view my project in full screen. I can watch it in the project viewer the audio and video play as they should. I have a presentation tomorrow and I can't figure this out. What am I doing wrong?

Have you updated to version 9.0.2 - this Software Update was released a couple of days ago and fixes audio sync problems as well as improving stability in iMovie '11.

MobileMe iPhoto galleries not syncing after password change

After changing the MobileMe Password iPhoto does not recognize the properly configured MobileMe Account anymore.
All other Applications with MobileMe Upload/Sync/Publishing capability (iMovie, Aperture, MobileMe-Sync) still work flawless. After trying to publish a Photo to a MobileMe Gallery or clicking on an prior uploaded MobileMe , the MobileMe "Are you already a member" (Translated from German) screen pops up, asking me to login into MobileMe. A second windows states "An error occured with the publication of album "ALBUMNAME". Your MobileMe Account Information is not correct. The provided login or password is not valid" (Translated from German)."
Even in the iPhoto Preferences/Setting under the "Web" Tab the used and max iDisk Capacity is not shown.
After changing the MobileMe Password iPhoto does not recognize the MobileMe Account anymore.
I'm having this problem on my late 2007 MacBook Pro 2,4GHz
On my second Mac at home evrything works just fine, even in iPhoto.
I've tried several things to solve this problem:
- Logging Off & On with fake MobileMe username/password in the MobileMe Setting in System Preferences
- Updating the password in publish.me.com in the keychain
- replacing the keychain on this Mac (MBP) with the keychain from my Mac at (both have latest Snow Leopard and iPhoto Version)
- deleted the com.apple.iPhoto.plist

found that thread and looked in the keychain - indeed it was still the old password - changed it and now working again...

Error uploading to iCloud & iMove Theater

When iMove tries to upload to iCloud using iMove Theater I get the follwing error:
*** -[AVAssetWriterInput setLanguageCode:] languageCode cgldisable does not conform to the ISO 639-2/T language code
Any ideas?

Actualy its not just iCloud. I can not share to anything without getting this error, so no email, vimeo or even iTunes.

My iMovies do not appear in the iMovie theatre on my other IOS devices.

I have iMovie on my iPhone 5 running IOS7. I want to view the movies I create on my AppleTV. Nothing appears in the iMovie Theater on my AppleTV. When I go to upload to iCloud an error message says it cannot connect and that I need to add iMovie to the Documents area of iCloud. The instructions tell me to look in the Apple menus. My desktop is a Windows machine therefore I use the iCloud control panel which does not gave that selection in documents. Neither does my iPhone settings for iCloud. Do I need a MAC to set this up?

Called Apple. They suggested I check my iPhone for any Policies installed my employer. Sure enough there was an IOS Restriction policy that prevents uploading documents to a cloud. Guess I'll be able to fully use iMovie when I retire.

After Yosemite upgrade iMovie won't load iMovie Theater from data drive.

I have my iMovie Lib and Theater on a data disk and the os on an SSD. When I updated to Yosemite and new iMovie, it will no longer us the iMovie Theater on the data disk. It always makes a new file on the SSD in Movies folder. My SSD is not large enough to hold my Theater. How do I get it to use the Theater file on the data disk.

Here one can select the Pre-Set speeds

No - but I guess that Double Click on clip/sequense or ctrl-Click on it might open it.

Have you transferred photos from your computer to your iPhone which is selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
If so, you can place this video in the folder of photos on your computer that is selected to be transferred to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process. Under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, select Include Videos.
