IMovie theatre not connecting

iMovie theatre not connecting on apple tv, says connection or iCloud problems. iMovie theatre working on iPhone and iMac, all other iCloud services working on apple tv. Have restarted apple tv but still not working.

Sadly, I have this issue too. I have all the latest versions of iOS, OS10 and that for my AppleTV 2, but theater does not work for me. None of my iCloud enabled flicks make it to the AppleTV? I'm using the latest TimeCapsule and everything else connected to the net works, just not that. Does anyone have any ideas? I have logged out of my iCloud account and back into it. I have restarted the AppleTV a couple of times without any resolution.

Built in iSight and iMovie HD not connecting.

I would like to make movies with my iMovie with my iSight but I am having trouble doing this. When I go into iMovie [which is the newer version and should work with my iSight] I get a blue screen that says "No camera attached." That does not make any sense whatsoever, it works with iChat and Photobooth.
When I went to the apple store I was told to delete the preferences, which did absolutely nothing. I have tried everything I possibly can...it is just irritating me now. Ha. Can anyone give me some advice with this!?

It did not work with iMovie HD (5) -- when I unplugged the Firewire camera, iMovie says "No Camera Attached" and does not switch to the built in iSight..

Don't you mean the DVD player works through the home theatre, not the other way round? Usually, you plug your STB's and players into the HTS, then out to the telly (for picture).

Video in iMovie theater not uploading to iCloud

i am trying to upload my videos in iMovie theatre so it syncs across my other devices but it keeps stalling when I try to upload to iCloud and it never finishes uploading. My iPad is still on iOS 7 but my iPhone and Mac are on the latest operating System of iOS 8 .0 and Yosemite. Could this be the reason? Any ideas how to fix this?

OK, well that makes things easier because I wasn't sure if there was an issue with iMovie theatre after the iCloud Drive update with devices that won't run it. Since you haven't upgraded to iCloud Drive, I'm sure you shouldn't have an issue uploading from your Mac.
Could you describe exactly what happens, I sometimes see the progress bar complete but not actually disappear, next time I open iMovie the progress bar has disappeared and the movies are available on other devices so obviously they do complete.
The other thing to consider is whether this is project specific. How many projects have you tried and have you tried compiling a real simple and short project to upload for test purposes.
Is your Mac connected to the network with ethernet or wifi.

I was disappointed to find that the latest version of iMovie has not fixed a bug which has prevented me from using both camera and iMovie since I bought them.
If I import from an archive or from the camera, the footage shows horizontal "combing" especially on shots with significant motion.
This is on all footage and has nothing to do with Apple's reported stabilisation issues
The issue is caused by a known bug in the way iMovie reads either 25P or 50i content created in AVCHD by this camera.

This has been a persistent problem since the start and is ignored by both Canon and more specifically, Apple.
What do we have to do to get a fix for this? Come on guys, we pay for this software and this is a popular camera.

IMOVIE does not respond when it launches

When I launch IMOVIE it freezes. It states its trying to launch thumbnails movies.

Very often this is due to errors in iPhoto library as iMovie doesn't move or copy any photos or audio files but just point's to where they are stored and if this link is broken it will behave as described.
Medicine:
• YOU NEED LOT's of TIME to do this. (6 - 12 hours not uncommon at all)
Start iPhoto - BUT KEEP alt-key and cmd-key down during up-start
Now You get a list of choices
Select all of them and let Your Mac be - No Internet, no other program running in background - AND KEEP IT connected to Mains as batteries may run down if not connected giving even more problems ! !
Then when done - Try iMovie again - Now it should find the photos and not just the Thumbnails.

IMovie Crashes when connecting camera

When I connect my Panasonic PV-GS300 to my MacBook Pro, IMovie either crashes or does not recognize he camera. My IMovie is up to date. Not sure what to do here. Any help is appreciated.

where do your find the imovie.com. whatever that you deleted in the "imovie preferences."
My preferences do not give any of those choices...

it started all of a sudden.... worked fine a month ago...
i tried a new cable and that had no effect..
the "dv" comes on when i plug in the camera and the usb port works fine...

Imovie hangs when connected to camera

Imovie '12 hangs as soon as I connect camera (panasonic HDC-SD100) to import video material. Who as any idea what I do wrong?

It is possible that over time your SDHC card has become fragmented. You can fix this by using the menu of the Panasonic to initialize the card. It would be best to try this with an empty card, because if you initialize the current card, you will lose anything that is on it.
If you need to get clips off the current card, and iMovie is not seeing them, I would suggest that you close iMovie and open Disk Utility. Select your card in Disk Utility and create a disk image of the card. Now, mount the disk image and see if iMovie can see the disk image. This may not work, but it is your best shot.
You also might try trashing your preference files (although I think this is less likely to help, it is easy and can't hurt.) See here for how.

In Mavericks OS X iMovie does not detect the camera

Hi,
Yesterday I had OS 10.8.7 and then I upgraded to OS Mavericks, and now when I try to import videos from my camcorder (new camcorder just purchased 4 weeks ago) iMovie does not seem to detect it.
But iPhoto does detect it.
The camera is Sony Handycam HDR-cx220
Is there some setting that I need to set? Or am I screwed?

Can you see the files on your camera in the Finder rather than from iMovie (either directly connected camera or via a memory card)?
If yes your camera is acting as a separate volume and you can copy your clips onto your mac with the Finder then import the files into iMovie. If the format is AVCHD there are some special considerations to take into account.

Camera (annoyingly) not connected

Anybody...please!..I'm trying to import my video clips from my canon camera onto imovies and it keeps telling me my camera is not connected or switched on. My G5 is only 7 months old, the very odd thing is it has worked fine before and all of a sudden it's decided not to. This has also happened to my friend, and she has a sony camera. If anyone has any suggestions I would be so happy.

a) File-Vault is on - turn it off
b) dont Daisy chain camcorder - external hard disk - Mac
c) Slow hard disk (fragmented: repair permissions, repair hard disk, use a faster hard disk)
d) Something is occupying the CPU/System, like other programs, Internet etc.
e) Bad RAM-chips
f) drop outs on the miniDV-tape - make a camera to camera copy on a tape which You have previous recorded with a time code (dummy recording).
g) FW-wire cable OK?
h) Break in the time-code on the miniDV tape (make a camera to camera copy on a tape which is prerecorded with nothing/anything so that the tape has a time-code from beginning to the end)
i) defective camera TRY IT ON ANOTHER MAC !
j) remove bookmarks in iMovie project
k) Do You have desktop pictures or screen-savers active? Try turning them off.
l) Updating - OS has to be a clean install - not an update eg from X.3.x to X.4.x (no good)
OS X.4.0-2 needs a clean install to work (I use X.3.9)
m) Updating QT and/or other updates (to 7 needs v6 to be cleaned out first)
QT v.7 needs a clean install to work (I use 6.5.2)
n) Have you tried the crazy fix:
Open GarageBand, play a few notes, close it and reopen iMovie. The camera should import fine now. (Sue/SDillini)

Huawei E270 Modem not connecting

Please could someone help me in solving why my Huawei E270 modem is not connecting through internet connect after installing the latest update to Leopard 10.5.3.
Before installing the update, all worked well with no issues, now i says "Connecting" then "Authenticating" and then it simply disconnects. The signal on the modem is good and when I use my mobile phone (Nokia N70) to connect, all works "perfectly".
I also had an issue with iMovie after installing the update, but this was solved by switching resolutions.
If anyone could help I would be truly greatful.

Those Huawei modems are a pain in the butt.
All settings need to be 100% correct. Sometimes they even need firmware updates to work with mac.
The best thing you can do is check your providers website or call them.

My 2nd gen works fine with WPA2 and AES encryption.
You may need to go back and start over. Reset the router back to factory defaults, log on as the admin, set up security, DHCP, and make sure the IP address pool has enough IP addresses to lease to ALL of the computers/devices that will connect to that the router.

ITunes could not connect to the iTunes Store "Error Message"

I recently added iTunes 7.6 to my Windows XP operating system at the same time when I added an *Ion USB Turntable (TTUSB).* I currently have the 80G iPod with the larger video screen. I added in the supplied software of the EZ Vinyl Converter. The software reads from Gracenote and imports into iTunes okay. But now my PC cannot access the iTunes store to buy songs, read the tracks on the discs, or display new album artwork. The diagnostic read the network connectivety test, the CD/DVD drive, and iPod connectivity tests all read okay. I followed the directions on checking the network settings under the Internet Options Tool "Connections" Lan Settings and the Automatic detection and still no dice. All I get is "Make sure your network is active."
Can anybody help out their?

I'm seeing this error on some, but not all, of my Windows XP machines. On my personal development XP box, I see this error if iTunes is closed when I try and access iTunes U via my transfer script or Stanford's.
"iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. The network connection was terminated unexpectedly. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
The errors occured in IE 7 Beta, Firefox 1.5.x, and Firefox 2 Beta. In each case, iTunes U loaded after I clicked the 'ok' button in iTunes. I did notice that in Firefox's case an additional pop-up window appeared that asked whether or not I had iTunes; when I selected that I do have itunes, it transfered me to iTunes but generated the error.
After getting these errors on my Windows XP machine, I tried it on two different lab machines running Windows XP, and didn't get the error message once -- I tried it in IE 6, Firefox 1.0.x and Firefox 1.5.x and they all worked. It even worked with IE 7 Beta and Vista Beta.
Based on this, I think the problem must lie in how Windows registered iTunes, and the handshake just isn't happening properly.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
