IMovie to iPod - what is the highest resolution setting possible?

I'm creating an iMovie and i want to save it to my 30gb video ipod, and then play it back on a lcd projector to a 12 foot screen (for a presentation in a room full of people). If i use the standard 320x240 resolution, i'm pretty sure it will look very pixelated when shown on a 720p lcd projector on a 12 foot screen.
What is the highest resolution you can save your iMovie to an iPod, and then playback on a high resolution TV? I've tried several settings, but none are recognized by the ipod.
Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I do not have a laptop (well, not a Mac laptop - bummer), and dragging my 20" imac will be a pain. I always bring backups, so i will also burn DVD and copy to video camera.
Just thought it would be cool to walk and plug in my ipod to the projector. Pretty sure no one in my group has seen that before.
Last question... can i export from imovie with the higher settings, or do i need to save to destop and then export with quicktime?
Thanks!

I am purchasing a laptop with a 4k screen (3200x1800) resolution, will Lightroom work at these levels? what is the highest resolution LR will support?

As Rob has pointed out there is no maximum resolution that LR supports, but performance decreases as resolution increases. I'm using an i7-860 quad core system with a 1920 x1080 (2.1 Megapixel) monitor and LR runs well. A 3200 x1800 (5.8 Megapixel) monitor will require ~2.75 x more processing to render the real-time loupe image in the Develop module. Some people have reported sluggish screen updating when making adjustments in the Develop module with even lower resolution monitors such as 2560x1440. Here's a post that discusses the issue:

  • What is the highest resolution pulse I might Achieve w/ cRIO

I want to develop pulse manager with 9075 cRIO and 9402.
I synchronize 4 DO which I have some logics between them. What is the resolution
i might acheive between 2 pulses - one rising and the other falling?
And what is the 10nsec response time of the 9402 means (and what's the connection to te 40MHz clock of the FPGA?)
Summary - Can anyone please arrange my mind about timing in cRIO...
    Thanks,
    Yakir.

I'm not sure where you are seeing a 10ns response time.  What I see is 55ns propagation delay, which is the time it takes for the module to read it and send it on the the FPGA.
In this setup, you are limited by what the module can do.  So with 4 channels, the max rate you can read/write is 16MHz (20MHz for 2 channles).  The 40MHz clock on the FPGA is the clock rate for processing the data.

    Like Ralph Landry1 said
No one can predict the life span of a particular device, there are too many variables to consider.  Such as, how well it is treated, how it is charged, used in a case, exposure to heat and cold, and on and on.  If you treat it well, it should last for years.
iPod Touch has a 1 year warrenty, but with the AppleCare Protection Plan, you can extend it to 2 years. Even out-of -warrenty, its still useful. And please follow through what Ralph Landry1 said.

  • What is the best format to use for still photos in FCE that will produce the highest resolution?

    Hello,
Can anyone recommend the best suggested format for photo stills in FCE that will provide the highest resolution and best quality output, to be broadcasted on a Standard Definition television network?
    Thanks,
    Susan Kayne

Personally, I prefer uncompressed TIFF or PNG.  But many times it won't matter ... you'll be dropping the images into an SD Sequence, so they will lose resolution on output.

  • Is there some setting to obtain the highest resolution photos?

I want to burn to a DVD to show on a large screen and want to get the highest resolution possible in the photos. Are there any settings I need to know about?

iPhoto's Slideshow outputs are pretty limited. With iMovie or an app like PhotoToMovie you can create a slideshow (with more control) with greater output options.

  • After upgrading to Snow Leopard, What's the highest version of iLife?

Every since I upgraded my video camera firmware, I haven't been able to import the videos into iMovie 08.  So I upgraded my "early 2008 MacBook Pro to Snow Leopard, but iLife '11 requires 11.7.4.  What is the highest level of iLife allowed in Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and how do I download it?

The latest iLife version compatible with Snow Leopard is iLife '11. However, you can't download iPhoto '11, iMovie '11 and GarageBand '11 from the Mac App Store because the latest version isn't compatible with Snow Leopard, but you can still install iLife '11.
To install iLife '11, you have to buy iLife '11 in a DVD at eBay or Amazon, and install it into your computer. Then, open  > Software Update, and install the most recent version of all iLife '11 apps compatible with Snow Leopard. If you want to purchase them as a download, you have to upgrade to Lion or Mountain Lion

  • What's the best resolution for album art?

I have encountered some 500x500 album art images that don't fill the album art box, and some 200x200 album art image that do completely fill the box. So I assume that there's more to importing album art than just pixel counts.
That leaves pixel density, or resolution. What should the proper resolution be for a 500x500 pixel album art image? Anything else I'm missing?
    Thanks. WeedMonkey

72 pixels per inch is usually the default and I find this works reasonably well, although if you want high-detailed covers I'd go for something like 144 or even 200PPI. I get all of my album art from www.7digital.com and save the 350x350 images. I find they are just the right size for Cover Flow and on my iPod.

  • What is the Best Resolution for TV?

    Hi,
I have been putting movies I've created via Final Cut / iMovie onto my TV. I'm using VideoMonkey to convert the files to MP4 format. I want to create the highest resolution possible and space/file size is no concern. But I don't want to create a resolution that is too high for TV.
VideoMonkey's default format for TV is 1024x720 @ 24fps H.264 Video. But I can set the quality to low, standard or high. And encoding options are from fast to high quality (2 pass). I can set everything to the best but I want to make sure the TV can even utilize it.
I can create these movies as high as 1080p that is 4GB. But again, is it worth creating that file size so large if TV can only play an HD 720 version?
    I hope this is clear.
    Thanks!

for the original appletv you should be looking at either 1280x720 @ 24pfs or 960x540 @ 30fps.
the adverised bitrate limitation for the original appletv is 5000kbit/s.

  • What's the highest iOS support by iPad1?

What is the highest iOS version the original iPad will support?  Or better yet does the original iPad support iOS 5.0?

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
