Imovie trailers ....

Can I make an Imovie 11' trailer longer as it normally is ?
Because I'm making a trailer as a surprise for somebody and it's only 56s and I want it to be at least 140s or longer.
And I'm using the blockbuster trailer.
Can you help me ?
Thanks

Thankyou very much !
That worked.
I'm happy now

  • I cannot use still images in iMovie Trailers anymore

Hi all, I am hoping someone out there can help me.
    I am using iMovie '11  Version 9.0.9 (1795)
    I have a macbook prousing OS x Version 10.9.2
Processor 2.2 Ghz intel core i7
Last year I created a few "Trailers" using still images. All of a sudden I can no longer do this.  I cannot click on the camera icon as it is 'greyed' out or unclickable.  My photos stored in iPhoto.
I can no longer simply drag and drop my images into the 'Project' anymore.
You know when you go to drag an item on Mac and the little green plus ot appears to say essentially 'you can drag here'... well this appears when I try and drag into the 'Event Library', but then a warning/notification screen appears saying "The Files will not be imported.  Photos cannot be imported to the Event Library. Try dragging directly to your Project" .... Well I would if it let me, but it doesn't.
Is anyone else having this problem or has experienced this and has a solution please.
This has wasted more hours than I care to give it, and is doing my head in.
    Thank you
    Panandine

I am bringing in 72dpi jpegs of some of my design work into iMovie
The dpi setting is of NO importance in iMovie/iDVD - only the actual image pixel size. See Preparing images for DVD slideshows at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/6.0/en/17.html for suggested sizes unless you plan on using a lot of Ken Burns Effect zooming.
When I am in iMovie and I drag a clip(still image) into the time line the image looks dull and blurry
The preview window in iMovie is just that - a preview window - for use in editing. It does NOT show the actual image quality of the clip.
Some of us like Photo to Movie or FotoMagico for turning still images into slideshow movies - both offer free trial modes - you might want to give one of them a try.

  • IMovie trailers thumbnails in iPhoto

    Hi!!
I have made some trailers in iMovie and then import them onto iPhoto but iPhoto doesn't respect the thumbnail of the trailers.
In Finder the thumbnails of these trailers are a picture with the tiltle and credits. This thumbnai is created by iMovie and this is not a frame from the movie itself so iPhoto doesn't import it. The thumbnails in iPhoto are the first frame, in all cases a black frame.
This is not a real problem in iPhoto although I would like to respect the iMovie thumbnail, but it is on the iPad because the photo app on iPad doesn't show the title of the movie so all the trailers have a black thumbnail.
I would like to know if there is any way that iPhoto shows the iMovie thumbnail (the one composes with the title and the credits and also that this thumbnails appears on the iPad.
    Thanks
(Sorry if there's any mistake with my english)

I have already sent feedback to Apple (may times) and I know I can't select the frame or a picture as thumbnail in iPhoto, but I thought that maybe there is an app that forces iPhoto to show the poster frame.
This picture must be somewhere in the file because Finder can show it and iTunes imports it as the cover art (in the info tab of the file).
On the other hand, I don't know how I can put that pictures in the video as first frame and that the movie doesn't loose it's size. I have used Quicktime to paste the picture but then the video is played with a big black space on the bottom respecting the size of the picture that is vertical.

  • Acquiring additional iMOVIE trailers

    Hello,
I have imovie 10.0.6 on my iMAC.
Is there a supplier where additional trailers (not themes, but trailers) are available?  I am making a travel vacation video, and the stock 'Travel' trailer isn't my favorite.
    Thanks in advance.

is there a place to purchase more?
    No there is not.

  • IMovie Trailers - terms of use

I have come across iMovie a month ago and fooled around the making of a short clip using the Romance theme.
I was wondering, what are the term of use of these trailers containing songs and video clips. Is this limited to personal use or the clips and the music are royalty free and can potentially be used for commercial purpose.
I've read a lot over the apple forums but there are no clear answers out there.
    Please advise.

They are Royalty Free and can be used in your Projects, even commercial. You cannot sell the music on a stand-alone basis, but you can use it in a movie.
See the End User License Agreement section 2.M. for the Legalese.

    Hi gbowers,
I understand you are having performance-related issues with iMovie. I found the following information which may help you troubleshoot these issues:

  • Why did they disable iMovie trailers on the iPod

Please make it available, because I just bought this app and I'm very disappointed. So if you can't do that please refund my money

Because it requires at least 512MB of RAM. That iPod touch model has only 256MB.

  • How do i convert my imovie trailer for the iphone 4 to other file formats?

I'm due to make a comical presentation in 2 days, and i downloaded iMovie for the iphone 4, and would like to use the trailers created as part of the presentation.
I'm on windows xp, and have sent the file to itunes, gone into the file sharing part, added it, saved it, and even synched the flipping thing and yet it wont even play in itunes??? thats driving me mad as it is??
Not really bothered about that....My real main concern is wanting to play the movie file in an AVI/MOV/MP4 etc format, and have even downloaded various video conversion packages to try an convert and playback my results, but once again, and a few hours wasted, I find myself facing another brick wall.
Is it even possible to playback the imovie trailers created in a more generic video format for others to see??
    I really do hope so!!!!
If not, then apple, i want my £2.99 (about $5.50) back, coz that would be as pointless as a paper ashtray.
I hope ive not had my pants pulled down and wasted my money an time on this.
Please someone help me, or put me out of my misery.

Actually, scrap that one girls. Ive figured it out. For those who have a similar prob, just make sure you have quicktime installed. plug ur iphone into ur pc as normal, and choose the camera an scanner options that appears auto on ur window. select the trailer u wish after the usual wizard talk through and then "ok" or "apply" or whatever the button is called. select your destination folder, and walaa. its all done, and converted into .MOV format.
NOTE:  When saving ur trailer on ur phone, and it asks what file size, chose the Medium one, or it takes ages to open.....unless ur comp is super fast, and not like my craptop.

  • Finding Music in iMovie

I would like to know where I could find the music files that are used in the iMovie trailers (in iLife 11). I have gone to my system drive > Library > Audio > Apple Loops and found music there but not the stuff thats used in the trailers. The music I find there are the loops and "stingers"  from soundtrack pro and garage band. Can someone point me in the right direction? Many thanks!

In Finder go to Applications and right-click (or control-click) on iMovie.app - in the window that opens select Show Package Contents. In the Contents>Resources folder you will find all the Trailer music. The name of each track starts with SoundTrack. See this picture:
    John
PS. It's OK to copy and paste stuff from the Contents>Resources folder, but don't otherwise mess with items there as it could cause problems with iMovie.

  • How can I record my voice on iMovie without needing to place a photo or video in?

I'm trying to make an anime review. But before placing photos in it, I wanted to record my voice first before adding pictures in it. So I was wondering what do I do to actually get my voice in it without it being cut because there were no photos or videos placed in? (I use a macbook)

You could insert a bunch of placeholders in the timeline before doing the voiceover.
You can find a range of placeholders (they are actually templates used in iMovie Trailers) in the Maps, Backgrounds & Animatics browser. This is the last browser at the end of the centre toolbar, after the Titles and Transitions browsers. Click on it and scroll down to see all the animatics (aka placholders or templates). Drag a number of these into your project timeline - as many as you think you need to cover your audio.
When you've finished the voiceover, drag photos directly onto the animatics and select Replace from the pop-up menu. Adjust the timing by using the Inspector (double-click a photo to open the Inspector, then change the duration).

  • How can I record narration with no video or beyond the end of my video in iMovie?

I have a question about recording narration in iMovie.
I wrote a script to read as the narration for a movie I'm making. My thought was I could record the narration first, then add video to match the spoken words.
I've done this before in Sony Vegas on my PC and it worked out well, better than trying to speak to what was going on in the video after I record the video.
Unfortunately, if I try to record narration in iMovie without any video being there yet, it won't record. It appears I need to put a video clip on the timeline first.
If I put a short clip in and try to record narration beyond the end of it, iMovie quits recording at the end of the video clip.
So I went to quicktime and recorded my narration there and have 10 audio files (since I just don't seem to be able to read this whole script without making mistakes).
I then tried to add all 10 to my movie and I think it made me add a video clip first, but after I did, iMovie overlayed all 10 audio files on top of each other.
If I try to drag them over one at a time, I still can't get them to go sequentially unless I add more video to my movie.
There must be a way to add audio files or create narration without having to create a video file longer than your audio first.  Isn't there?
I just can't seem to find a way to get the audio files layed out one after another without more video.  Very frustrating.
At this point, I really want to know how to add audio files beyond the end of my video since I have them all recorded.
But I'd also like to know how to record narration beyond the end of the video too for future projects.
    Thanks!
    Brad

  • HT5621 iPad transfer. IMovies from old to new Account

I have a computer with my old Apple ID and one with my new Apple ID can I somehow transfer the apps to the new computer or when I change my Old Apple ID to the new one on my iPad do the apps or the data get  lost? For example my iMovie trailers I made on my iPad can I download iMovie on my new computer with my new Apple ID or can I transfer the trailers somehow?
    Please help me
    Thank You!

No. Content purchased under one Apple ID is non-transferable. You will have to re-purchase/re-download everything under the new ID. You can transfer your own movies, however.

  • Can you make custom trailer templates

Is it possible to create a custom trailer template?  I would like to create a drag and drop template for a very specific repeatable short form video project.  The idea is that i can provide the template to a wide range of people and they can populate with content and send back in a standardized format.
    Is that possible?
    Thanks
    Cameron

    Japib,
Thanks for the response.  I have googled and just did again.  Lots on how to make templates and how to convert trailers to editable content, but i can't find anything on creating a fully custom trailer that would walk a user through the creation of content in a formulaic way like the iMovie trailers do.  If you happened to have a link or any other direction, i would appreciate it.
    Thanks
    Cameron

  • After transfering my recorded video to my pc desktop, how can I record to a dvd.

I have transfered some pictures and recorded video of my Grandson onto my ipad2 but I cannot burn the video's I recorded. The video's I transfered to my pc where picked up  and labeled as Quick Time. I've gone into Windows Movie Maker and tried to transfer into the program to record but nothing happens.
