Imovie video effects not applying

Does anyon have any idea why some of my effects in iMovie have stopped applying. When I try to apply for example, "color posterize" the red bar at the bottom looks like it's applying the effect, but then when it's done, and I play the clip, either the effect hasn't applied, or there is just a black screen or the clip just won't play.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It can help if you Toggle Track Output to ON. The visibility icon on the left side on each track.

Video effects not working on nested sequences in Premiere Pro CS5

Hi -
I am having some trouble with Premiere ProCS5. I have a project with a few clips which I put together in one sequence. I put this sequence into another sequence. There I will add one or two tracks of additional images and apply color correction.
The problem is: None of the video effects I drag onto the sequence (which now is a nested sequence) have any effect. Whatever I change in the effect controls will not sho up in the monitor. Audio effects do work, though. Furthermore, none of the tracks above the nested clip are displayed. To clarify: The nested track is on V1, another clip is on V2 and an image is on V3. Only V1 gets displayed.
I know this is supposed to work and it actually does in another project created in the same version on the same machine with the same kind of material. But no matter how often I create a new project, applying video effects to a nested sequence just does not work.
Even more strange is the fact that my applied effects DO show up in the "Export Settings" window. They DON'T, however, in the final rendered file. I would suggest this is a bug.
What could be the reason for this behaviour?

Blur effect not applied when exported to swf ?????

I have added a fast blur effect to a portion of my video project in AE, it looks great in AE.
but when I export it out to a swf, the blur effect is not applied, why??????

See "Render and export a composition as a SWF file" for a description of what is supported and what isn't for SWF export.
You can choose to either ignore or rasterize unsupported items. It seems that you probably have the Ignore setting selected.

Video Effects not rendering

I am trying to apply a black and white effect to a movie clip and it looks fine in the preview screen, but when I apply the effect - it turns the clip bright white. Any ideas?

So, I am having a problem with iMovie, it says Not Responding when I try Force Quitting (My question here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1030318&tstart=0 ) in a similar question the person solved the problem by Removing "A font folder" and Linked here.
Only problem is I don't have a FontCollection folder just Fonts folder :\
Any Advice?

Adjustment layers effects not applying when flattening image or merging layers CS6

So about a week ago I noticed something changed with my adjustment layers. In an image I would make a selection and start using adjustment layers to edit that selection, and then once I was finished, I would merge the adjustment layers together so that I could erase outside areas where the effect was not intended. However, whenever I merged the layers, the effects would go away and the thumbnail preview by the layer title would become blank (gray and white transparent) as if there was not anything on the layer. I messed around and I reset Photoshop, and then I thought the layers were fixed. They were somewhat fixed, except I've started having trouble again. Now I'm having difficulty editing this one image i'm on. It's a portrait with a photoshop-created red mask going around eyes, and I used the dissolve layer effect on the original mask creation which was black at first. Then I selected that selection and made more layers editing the hue, saturation, brightness/contrast, and exposure.
I tried to save the image as a jpeg, and the effects were messed up. The hue and all other adjustment layers seemingly applied, except the dissolve effect does not show up at all. So I tried to fix it manually. I flattened the image first with intention to then save it as a jpeg, but as soon as I flattened the image, again the dissolve effect was not applied. Then I tried to merge the layers, and yet again, the dissolve effect was not showing up. It shows up fine in PSD form, something's wrong with the conversion process. Please don't be mean to me. I'm not great at photoshop, I'm not saying that I am or claiming to be a pro or anything I just want help from people who actually get it. I have CS6 and use a Macbook Pro.

I stopped even trying to read this append. For is seems very complex and overwhelmed my little mind. Please consider including some screen captures showing your Photoshop window with your document that your writing about open and the layer palette shows the structure of the document. For me examples and screen capture of the steps involves involved would be very helpful.

Photo booth video effects not recording after upgrade to Lion

I recently upgraded from s.leopard to Lion. Photobooth is working perfectly with the leopard until upgraded to lion, the video effects could not be used and recorded. It only appears in 1 sec when video recording.
I have done the following already according to the forums I read.
1. the 32 bit mode is not ticked.
2. disk utility permissions.
and still not working. Any advise? Thanks

The same Lion-problem here. Everything looks just fine until I press record. Then the effect dissappears. I bought my 28" "BigMac" in february this year, and as the problem is mentioned about a year ago, it might be a major problem since no solution is mentioned anywhere.
So, if you guys see or hear (or smell) anything in the direction of a solution, drop a note.

A simple link to a page with a number of third party suppliers should help! I do not have time and motivation to search in the jungle of codecs and secrets to find a correct solution. I do not understand apples policy. It is the most difficult thing to make a video and find a format that can be read with current software.
What can be done?

What codec did you use for the export? I.e., It is most likely the video codec used for your export is causing the problem as it may not be included in the basic QT codec component package. (E.g., the Apple Intermediate Codec is only available on the Mac.)

If you exported the file for playback on a PC and selected or allowed a defaulted codec not available for the PC to be used, then the problem is self-inflected. The normal export combination would be H.264/AAC in an MOV, MP4, or M4V file container. Assuming the file was properly terminated and transferred between systems, any of these files should be playable in QT on your PC (as well as other third-party players like VLC, MPEG Streamclic, etc.)
What can be done?
The best option would probably be to re-export the project to any format known to be compatible with your PC QT install.

Video FX not applying to clips

Hi all - yesterday I exported a clip from Flash as a quicktime movie, imported it into a new project, then brought in some other existing clips. When I tried to add Video FX to the other clip, in the preview it looked fine, but when I hit "apply", the clip would either turn to black or take the image from the following clip. I tried this with several different FX and got the same results. I saved the project and shut off imovie, then last night, I powered the computer down. This morning, I am getting the same resuts, even with existing movies I have already made!!
I attribute this behavior to me adding some demo FX that I installed yesterday. Today I took all of the demo plugins out of my imovie library. After doing this, I am still getting this problem. It is like I have messed up my native FX by installing these demo FX.
Does anyone have any suggestions how I can clean this mess up or what I am doing wrong?

FYI - I went into my library an deleted all imovie preferences files. This solved the problem.

Timewarp effect not applied when rendered from Media encoder CC

The timewarp effect (enabled using console veiw in PPRO CC) does nothing to footage when rendered through Media encoder...
It does however render when not sending it to the queue, and rendering straight from PPRO.

Just hoping to raise attention of this...as I believe this should be a normal supported feature of PP as it once was back in CS3 days.....
Normal frame blending interpolation doesn't really cut it, and round tripping to AE is overkill for something already built into PPro....
But at least it's in there in some form

Leopard Video Effects Not Working Properly

When ever I have a video conference and try to use a video backdrop the picture becomes very flaky, with parts of my me being covered up by the back drop and random parts of the back drop not working. I think I'm doing everything right but it still isn't working right.

I have that same problem too. I called up Applecare and was on the phone with them for at least and hour and they couldn't fix it either. They said that everyone is having this problem. I was at the Apple Store today for my ProCare Appointment and the creative told me that it does the same thing on all the computers in the store. Its such advanced technology that it need a nice clean background. There is a way to get it to work if you have a plain white background and I have yet to try it out. I am positive that apple will fix this through a software update in the future.

My iMovie video is not showing up when i open iMovie.

I am not very familiar with Imovie at all but i have been working on a project for the past couple of weeks and everytime I have opened up imovie it has been there. I finally finished it I didnt know how to same it so i could put it anywhere I just thought i could drag and drop the project onto the desktop but when I clicked on it it would open up imovie but not the project and futhermore the project wasn't there at all. please help I don't know how I could get it back IF I can get it back.

What the heck happened to the effects in iMovie 08? iMovie HD had some great effects that could be added to movies to make them look a bit wacky or cool but in 08 there is no such thing. Is there going to be an update or something to add this feature back? I don't really understand why they would remove features while adding some new ones. (Price for change) Does anyone know anything about movie effects in iMovie '08?

No Video effects

The previous version of IMovie had a number of enhancements to video clips, particular slow and backward motion. The "new" iMovie has absolutely no video effects, not one.
Had I known this upgrade took a few steps forward, but 3 back, I would have not made the upgrade.

+My upgraded replaced the previous iMovie version on my Mac. Is there a way I can still access both versions?+
Your previous iMovie version is stored on your HD in 'iMovie (previous version)' and you can use it. I would prefer you to download the iMovie HD 6.0.4 version (the previous version was 6.0.3) at http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/imovieHD6.html as this version works better with iLife '08, if found.

iMovie '08 is no good--no video FX. Easy to use but no functionality.

As Soon As Any Effect Is Applied On The Video Or Sequence The Video Playing Speed Gets Faster Than Normal And Red Screen Also Starts Appearing In Between The Video. Tried Changing The Speed And Duration But Its Not Working.Help Required ASAP.

The Issue Is Majorly Caused When Any Effect Is Applied On The Video And Rendered The Issue Occurs. And By Closing The Application And Restarting The Application Its Works Fine Again But As Soon As The Effects Are Applied Same Problem Occurs Recursively.

What is the format of the material you are editing, is it variable frame rate?
