IMovie won't allow me to do ANYTHING.

So, a couple of hours ago I was editing a video (which was taking over an hour to create) when I received messages every 20 seconds telling me how something could not import because it was having problems, even though at the moment, I was not importing anything nor editing. Then it said it had to force-quit to prevent anything in my project from being lost.
My only option was to continue so I did so. I decided to restart my computer and check it again.
I checked it 3 times after restarting and it would not let me: import, view my project (which probably doesn't exist anymore) or view any of my other projects when it said I had two but none showed on the screen.
I waiting, restarted again, getting anxious. So I updated it (Update from January 23), in hopes of recovery.
Hour later, still same issues. I have no clue what to do and i I can even USE iMovie ever again.
ANYTHING would be helpful.

Try rebooting it (hold home and power together for 15-20 seconds). If the display doesn't come back to life, you're out of luck. You're supposed to back it up before it fails. It's too late to do so after the fact.

Mac won't allow me to save anything to external HD.

I have an early 2011 MacBooc Pro and I have a brand new never used 500GB HP portable Hard drive, whenever I attempt to save anything or transfer anything from the HD it will not allow me?
Something about permissions...
I know its vague I'm completely idiotic when it comes to computers.

maybe it's because your Hard drive format. is it NTFS? If it is in NTFS format, then your macbook pro won't allow you to write data on your HDD, it's only allow you to copy data from your HDD into your macbook pro's drive.
I suggest that you buy software Paragon NTFS for your mac, or you can simply re-format your HDD into exFAT, because mac osx is now fully support exFAT format. To do this, you can simply format it using windows based PC or using Disk utility in your macbook. hope it helps!

Try restarting the iPad and seeing if that helps.
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.

All the apps that I have downloaded are "waiting" and whenever I try to sync apps on my computer with my phone, the apps section is greyed out and won't allow me to do anything. I have tried restoring to factory settings but it didn't work.

I don't remember ever having a passcode and after several attempts have not been able to get the right code.
Also. on my phone, in settings, personal hotspot, iCloud and Twitter are greyed out. And, the App Store icon is missing from my screen as well.

yep, unfortunately can't reset without the passcode either.
With regards to doing a restore, do you mean:
open itunes on my computer
click on my device on the left
go to the device summary
click restore
it then asks if i want to back up before i restore (to which i say no)
then it asks me if i'm sure I want to restore to factory settings and that all of me media and data will be erased and replaced with the newest version ( to which I say yes)
then it takes about 90 mins to do this but when I look at my phone, everything is exactly the same.
Am I missing something? Obviously I'm technologically challenged, but I HAVE to get to the bottom of this!

I have reinstalled the drivers. I watched it install the realtec and cirrus drivers. Hovering the mouse over the speaker icon says 'speakers: HP'. They are actually 'Creative'. 'Properties' indicates 'IDT High Definition CODEC' and 'This device is working correctly'.
Driver details gives 'c:\Windows\system32\drivers\dmk.sys'.
There is still no sound, although the little level meter on the control shows a green bar rising and falling.
Obviously, it thinks it's working, but there's no connection to the speakers. They're not muted, either. I checked that too.
Any other ideas?

I had the the same problem albeit with an m4v (same hardware and OS rev too!, iTunes 10.6.3). I was able to add the movie to a new library per Limnos' suggestion here, indicating that iTunes wasn't totally busted. However, I was also able to see the movie in the Recently Added smart playlist (another hat tip to Limnos), although it still did not appear in the Movies section of my iTunes library. (It was also in the iTunes Library.xml file.)
So I called AppleCare, and they directed me to move the file from the external drive where it was living, into the /Users/<Your Name Here>/Movies directory, and to "Add to Library" (Command-O) from that location. Sure enough (and much to my surprise), it showed up immediately (duplicated, actually) in the Movies section of my iTunes library. Subsequent additions to my Library have not misbehaved similiarly.

Imovie project won't allow me to do anything to it

I went to add one my last pictures to my project when imovie froze and unexpectedly quit on me. When i restarted imovie, I went to my movie project and realized that it wouldn't let me do anything to it. I can't delete pictures. It won't play the pictures and the song at the same time. No, didn't have to sign out. As I started to, got a messge saying something about losing all my calendar information, which unnerved me so I didn't sign out. It was correcting the password in another email account that corrected the situation for me.

I think a bit more explaining might be of interest: If not just skipp it.
iMovie 1 to HD6 - is one program in evolution. HD6 has INTEL savy code - so it runns on modern Macs too.
iMovie'08 (version 7.0.x) to iMovie'11 (version 9.0.x) - A totally different thing - WRONGLY NAMED as iMovie.
Working in a totally different way = no connection back to iM 1 - 6
iMovie'13 version 10.0.x - Have no idea what this can or can not do or if it is related to iM 08 - 11. May be.
So best thing You can do is to repair the old iMovie (hopefully HD6)
else You can retrieve the original material and re-do the movie in Video editor of choise iMovie'08 - 13 or FinalCut.
