IMovie won't display edited images

Here's the story:
1. copy a photo in Camera Roll
2. crop the photo
3. save it
4. in iMovie the thumbnail displays the cropped image
5. insert into video and the UNcropped image is displayed
Easy to duplicate on various iPads using ios7 and upgraded iMovie.
Your help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Neither of these "fixes" has changed anything. I also cleared my cache, ran a diagnostic check, and a virus/trojan scan! Either way, firefox 4 is just not working up to my needs! Should, or can I go back to 3.6?

  • JPG won't display in Image box.

Trying to add a logo in JPG format to the top of the form using the Image control, but it won't display the image nor print it. If I use a GIF file it works fine, but looks horrible. I'm new at this, any ideas?

I finally figured it out after posting another frustrating comment to this thread. I can't take the credit, however, as it was quickly solved by Irv Kanode in another thread. I have copied his exact post below. It solved this issue in seconds:

Check some of your JPEGs for CMYK vs RGB.
Might the ones that fail be CMYK and the ones that work be RGB?
When images don't work are you seeing a broken image icon or...?

    Irv,
Thanks for the reply. The images that didn't work were CMYK. When I converted to RGB they worked.
The images that didn't work were coming up with random grey scale colors.
    Thanks again,

  • Never saw Safari doing this before! Won't display some images !!! *** ??

So I am using Safari for quite some time. All of a sudden, in the middle of the day, Safari won't display all the images on any given web page. For example, I go to flickr.com and see that half the photos on the page wont load. The status indicator says that Safari is done trying to load the page, yet half it is empty. Resetting, and then restarting Safari does nothing to help the situation.
I really want to like Safari but am bewildered by all the problems it has (massive memory leaks, CPU runs at 100% every other day).
But not showing photos is too much!

I, myself am not crazy about Firefox, because it's a resource hog. Safari on the other side is simple, neat and clean. I have uninstalled the Apple Updater that gets installed with the Safari installation and that ensures that Safari doesn't give me any hassles.
It is just this image problem that I am experiencing at the moment. I really hope that someone can resolve this before the final release of Firefox 3.

  • Column View won't display some images downloaded by browser

I have used the "Preview" in Column View to display images for some time and some images downloaded to folders will never display. The wheel just spins in the display area and CMD-i doesn't display the image either. If I open the image in the Preview application it displays! There is no detectable difference in the files that do and don't display in Col. View. I can get any image to show up by opening a graphic application and doing a "Save As" to reprocess the image and replace the balky one. But, this is not right that I should have to do this. I cannot determine whether a downloded image is going to have a problem or not as some from the same websites are OK sometimes and some are not. I had the problem with OS 10.2.8 too. Changing from iCab to Safari does not help.

ACK!!!! Cancel all that because it happens using Firefox too. I have NO IDEA what in the world is happening to my system that would cause web pages to load incompletely.
    What a drag.

  • Emails won't display remote images

After a recent update (24.6.0) remote images in all emails stopped displaying...
    I've checked
    permissions.default.image (1)
    mailnews.message_display.disable_remote_image (true)
    but images still won't display

Something else to try is to make sure you are not using a proxy.
Tools>>Options>>Advanced>>Network & Disk Space>>Settings and check no proxy.

  • Safari won't display thumbnail images

Hello everyone. I have encountered a small issue about thumnail images in Safari. At first I thought this is an issue of a specific website but I figured out that it's an issue with my Safari browser. So, as you can see the top screenshot is from Safari which doesn't show thumbnail images and the bottom one is from Chrome which shows thumbnails perfectly. I love to use Safari as my default web browser and I have no plan to change to another web browser. So, is there anyone who can help me address this issue? Thank you in advance!

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the request of a stranger on a public message board. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed: Copy a line of text from this web page into the window of another application. Wait for the script to run. It usually takes a few minutes. Then paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page. The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. Details follow.
    4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply.
    6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking  anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    PATH=/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin; clear; Fb='%s\n\t(%s)\n'; Fm='\n%s\n\n%s\n'; Fr='\nRAM details\n%s\n'; Fs='\n%s: %s\n'; Fu='user %s%%, system %s%%'; PB="/usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c Print"; A () { [[ a -eq 0 ]]; }; M () { find -L "$d" -type f | while read f; do file -b "$f" | egrep -lq XML\|exec && echo $f; done; }; Pc () { o=`grep -v '^ *#' "$2"`; Pm "$1"; }; Pm () { [[ "$o" ]] && o=`sed -E '/^ *$/d; s/^ */   /; s/[-0-9A-Fa-f]{22,}/UUID/g' <<< "$o"` && printf "$Fm" "$1" "$o"; }; Pp () { o=`$PB "$2" | awk -F'= ' \/$3'/{print $2}'`; Pm "$1"; }; Ps () { o=`echo $o`; [[ !     Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
    exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
    9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, just press return three times at the password prompt.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    10. The test will take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line "[Process completed]" to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
    11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
Note: This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.

  • Won't display background image in browser.

My background image displays in dreamweaver and in the live view but it doesn't display in the browser when I try to view in a browser or when I publish the website.  I have spend hours looking for a solution and I am not sure what the problem is. I have checked the code on the following websites and it comes out ok:

    http://validator.w3.org/check
I have also tried my code with and without the overflow: hidden;  under #container where the image should be displayed.  (i was trying a new way to design -ie without basic grid and floating everything so the container can be removed if needed)
here is my code. Please help!!! thank you in advance!!!

In regard to the files you currently have on your server, the links to your Spry menu files are still pointing to your local computer.  This is caused when a site has not yet been defined in Site Manager, so DW is forced to link them locally.
To fix your page, just go into code view and remove the part of the link path that I have underlined and made BOLD.

  • Firefox won't display an image from one directory, but will from another. IE displays both.

I have some very simple logo jpgs I want to add to www.foautah.org. I have been having a problem where IE will show the jpgs, but Firefox won't. I have narrowed it down to a very simple test and found that in a little html test page: test.foautah.org/test.html Firefox will load two images from one directory (graphics), but not from another (sponsors). The images are identical copies. IE shows both from both directories.
NEVER MIND. After wasting hours, it finally dawned on me that Adblock might be doing something. Turns out it hides anything with "sponsors" in it. Time to rename my directory. Argh!!!

hello, yes, you'd have to uninstall flash from the windows control panel in windows7 (just diabling it in firefox won't work in this case). alternatively you could run the uninstaller-tool that adobe provides on its website: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

  • Media Manager won't display/transfer images from the Blackberry

Recently two workstaions have had their media manager stop working. When the blackberry is hooked up to the PC and viewed in Media Manager, the images on the blackberry come up as gray with a tiny strip of image pixels at the very top. When the images are transfered to the PC they hold on to this. When the images are emailed from the blackberry to the PC the images come across just fine.
We have reinstalled to no avail.
Workstations are XP 2 with all service packs except SP 3. Blackberry desktop 4.3

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Had the same issues. We're in crackberry purgatory.  This is what I had to do and it works fine now.
delete the current version of blackberry desktop manager from your computer (roxio is junk)
go to blackberry website and go to downloads
download desktop manager version 4.2.1 (last most reliabe version for folks with current media manager issues)
From there I had to connect the blackberry via usb
open my pictures and in another window go to my computer and open the blackberry
drag and drop the pics you want from my pictures to the blackberry.
Worked with no problems and it was super fast. Pics show up great.
    Hope it helps.

  • IMovie won't replace existing images in Project with new ones?

I have created a project which contains still images.  When I select "replace" with a new image, no change occurs or the thumbnail shows an image which was inserted earlier.  "Insert" nothing.  It worked prior to the latest "updates" installed on my MacBook Pro.  Why doesn't this work!   Going CRAZY!

    Hi,
This is a known behaviour. When you publish the new version of the workflow, the previous version is still available because there might be some workflows executing in lists and libraries on this version. But you can remove the previous versions so that
they are not available for the users to starts. Go to List/Library > Settings > Workflow Settings.
You will see all the previously published versions of the workflow. Here it shows the version of the workflows with Allow, No New Instance or Remove options. By default, previous version workflow should change to "No new instance" so users cannot
start this manually. If this does not happen then this workflow will be available for users to start as in your case. If no instances of previous version are running, then select remove, and click Ok. Hope it clarifies.

  • Won't display thumbnail images in Facebook. I tried fixes, no help.

When I open Facebook all is okay. When I go to "photos" all the thumbnails are blank. I can open them one at a time but the images are filled with black squares. I've tried going to "tools, options, content, etc" several times but no help.

Neither of these "fixes" has changed anything. I also cleared my cache, ran a diagnostic check, and a virus/trojan scan! Either way, firefox 4 is just not working up to my needs! Should, or can I go back to 3.6?

  • My computer with XP and either Juno or Gmail e-amil provider won't display imbedded images in e-mails. I think it is my computer setting but what?

After I set up share file system between my laptop with Vista and my desk top with XP I can no longer view imbedded images in my e-mails it doesn't matter if I use Gmail of Juno - Foxfire or Explore as browers . All of sudden the images of pictures or cartoon don't show the word or captions are there but that is it. When I view my e-mails on my laptop the images appear. I think this a settings problem but I have changed so many and reset the restore to not avail.

Upgrade your browser to Firefox 9 and check

  • Safari won't display some images on websites

I have tired all the suggestions on the discussion boards (i.e., clear cache, clear flash player cache, checked to see if disable images was cheked).  I am still experiencing the same problem.
Does anyone have other suggestions to slove this problem.
    Thank you.

I'm still not sure what I would have to do to reproduce the problem, but let's leave that aside for now. What are your OS X and Safari versions?

  • IMovie won't display precision editor

I had been using iMovie 10.0.04 and clicked on a command that caused the video downloaded files to go to the bottom half of the screen and the viewer to go to the top. I tried to open the precision editor and the command is inactive (gray not bold black). How do I get back to the precision editor?

Re-formatting should take care of it!
Connect the external drive and then launch Disk Utility found in Applications/Utilities. Your external drive while show up in Disk Utility's side bar.
Then select it and click the 'Erase tab' at the top.
Select Mac OS Extended-Journaled formatting from the Volume Format menu.
Then click the oval Erase button at the lower right. *Just remember-this will erase the drive!*

  • Mini bridge won't display any images.

I have adobe cs6 and the normal bridge opens fine but mini bridge will not display anything? Any ideas?

Big Bridge needs to be running for mini-bridge to work.  Look at this document and pay attention to comments regarding switchboard.
